    LordServant.
I'm really liking the ideal you have. Would be interested in your advice on how to run early turns? Do you slam a goblin guide turn 1 or do you go for the discard spell first? Basically do you ramp the agro first or try to control the board first or a balance of the 2?

And mog war marshal is also great with piledriver. Especially against a deck like af nauseum

I was playing a friendly league today and came up against Grixis Delver. Game 1 I ran into the question of whether or not I wanted to trade my mogg Fanatic for an unflipped Delver. Considering th texture of my hand, I decided to race it instead. I'm running a Mono-Red, traditional 2-Lords build of the deck.

Hi, long time lurker playing similar kind of (mono red) goblin deck, first time posting. Just wanna share my two pennies about whether to shoot or not the unflipped Delver. Whenever I play against (Grixis) Delver, I almost always use Mogg Fanatic to ping. It's one of the main reasons for me to include it in the main list. But, I am curious to see what others think/ would do.

Hi there! Same here, Mogg Fanatic should be used to kill the delver. Last Saturday I went to a local tournament and I played a practice/ warming-up match against a Grixis Delver player. I lost 0-2 (alas, I only played against a delver deck once or twice before, and that was a long time ago - not a big part of my local meta I'm afraid). We didn't play with sideboards.

One game I was ahead and had him at 10 or so while I was still at 20. I figured I could race him, but he just killed my goblins with his many removal spells, while I couldn't deal with his delvers (I think he Kolaghan's Commanded a dead Delver back to his hand, which flipped during his next upkeep - if I remember correctly, I did use the Fanatic to kill it the first time). Second game I could have killed his Delver with a Fanatic but I figured I could race him again and chose not to ping the Delver. Next few turns he beats my face with two flipped Delvers and a Tasigur while I drew only lands.

Afterwards he advised me to kill the Delvers as soon as possible, because it is one of his few win cons. Killing a Delver means slowing him down enourmously, so next time, that Delver won't live long if I see him again. Also, I figure our goblins will die anyway due to the many removal spells they play. Might as well take a creature of theirs with them, then.

As for the rest of the tournament, I went 3-3, beating Skred Red (2-1), UWR Nahiri Combo (2-0) and Blue Moon (2-0) (poor guy with his Blood Moons :p ) and losing to Junk (0-2), GW Tokens (1-2) and Ad Nauseam (1-2).

I played a mono-red list in which I dropped Mogg-War Marshal for Raging Goblin (after seeing Hellakevins list) and I must say, I liked the Raging Goblin more than MWM. MWM is good, but a bit slow. The upside of him being a free chump blocker is smaller than his downside of costing 2 mana and not having haste. Raging Goblin makes opening hands more explosive. Creating MWM as a free chump blocker seems not to fit in with our overall game plan, which is to strike fast and strike hard. True, he triggers FSD, but if we don't have one on the battlefield, well... then he doesn't trigger FSD. Not saying MWM is bad and should never be played, but I've almost never been very happy when I drew him and I have sided him out often.

Also, playing Raging Goblin (or even Goblins in general) might cause our opponents to underestimate us as players/ deck builders. The Ad Nauseam player for example claimed a bit haughtily that Raging Goblin isn't good enough for modern and that he always advised 'beginning players such as yourself' (he just assumed I was) to begin with a budget deck and build towards a tier 1 or 2 deck from there (the subtitles here are: 'Goblins isn't a real deck'). To be fair, I did lose to him, and I'm sure he meant well, but I at the end of the day I had won more games than he, so that felt kinda good. But I digress. All I wanted to say is, people underestimate the deck sometimes, which can work to our advantage. Have you guys had the same experience?

last time i played i went up against an ad nauseum deck. I pushed his s@#t in and everyone was glad for it. Ive made top 8 every time with 8whack and nobody except the abzan coco guys want to play against me.

Thanks Gorgosaurus. Think I might try rb and go rain of gore. I used Leyland of punishment in mono red which was great but only in opening hand. Also opens up spike jester and terminate. Gonna play around with it.

So I've played 8 whack the last 2 weeks at my lgs and have taken 5th and 6th. 24 total players each night with very competetive fields. I'm not seeing many in here running leyline of punishment. How do you beat decks like goryos vengeance or abzhan coco without it? Tapping out turn 3 for everlasting torment makes it pretty much impossible to not get outvalued. Went 3-2 both nights. First night I beat 8 rack in 3, abzhan coco in 3, and something I don't remember. Lost to abzhan coco in 2 and jeskai ascendancy combo in 3. Only lost to ascendancy cause I was stuck on 1 mana in 2 games in a row. Last night I beat goryos vengeance in 3, ad nauseum in 3 and myr. Lost to abzhan coco in 2 and infect in 3. Lost to infect due to mana screw also. Pretty happy with both nights since I think I could have gone 4-1 in either night if I see 1 more land.

I don't think molten rain does the job. It still costs 3 and only deals with one of their lands. Blood moon shuts down almost all their mana

So can a kuldotha version get it done against eldrazi? Get in a little damage early with flyers and hasty creatures then burn them out with bolt, grenade and blast? Can we get them to 10 fast enough to make this work?

Looks to me like we may have to start main boarding blood moon and ssg to have any chance against eldrazi decks. Their current mana base would not let them cast anything except the 2 red eldrazi in the ur versions. Unless of course they manage to hit 1 of their 2 wastes. What do you guys think?

Not sure if anyone else heard but goblins won the legacy tournament at scg Atlanta today. I know it's a completely different build but it shows the little guys can get it done.

We may have a problem against infect now. The new 1 drop blue spell makes their glistened elf unblockable and draws a card. It called slip through space.

As far as board wipes are concerned. I have played quite a few matches over the last few days on mtgo and can't believe how many times I have run into anger of the gods. Not just in sideboard either. We may see them become very common. Worse yet I won't be surprised to see kozileks return played main board in all those new eldrazi decks.

Well I only have 1 more fetch in red so I guess I will give 8 fetches a shot.

I'm sure everyone else realized this already but it just hit me. I was so scared of running blood moon because I then couldn't hit my green sideboard cards but manamorphose fixes that problem. Not sure why I didn't see it earlier. Also, I've been running 7 fetches in with the 14 land 4 ssg combo. What's everyone's thoughts on fetches and how they may cause you to miss that 2nd or 3rd land in such a low density deck?
