I'm a little unhappy with the last day--was hoping for Chalice of the Void or Crucible of Worlds as the final artifact and mythic. But hey; enemy fetches at *rare* alone is pretty good. Add in Lili, Goyf, Snap, Cavern, Damnation and that's a pretty spicy top-ten chase cards, even before you remember Blood Moon, Goblin Guide and other value.

I was hoping for one more chase and one more value uncommon (Manamorphose or Simian Spirit Guide would've been fair and on-theme) but that's life in the big city.

I'm guessing WURBG, simply because you'd expect cats in White and birds in Blue more than the other way around.

Regardless, I'm excited! The Gods cycle in Theros was fun, flavorful, iconic, and they remain appealing in casual and semi-competitive formats to this day. Adding more to the fun can't hurt.

There's an old Jewish joke about that: "better to have not been born at all; but who has that kind of luck?"

Less cynically, meditation and other philosophies seek to elevate and escape sufferings to reach a synthesis of living with peace.

Gotta fight false binaries, wherever you find them. Let morality be your guide. Fight evil.

We're polarized not along equal intellectual lines, but as we always have been: between good and evil.

    Pick the right side.

I'm a huge fan of this set: there's stuff for combo, there's value for strategies, and many of the key cards are uncommon, so the price should be stable and accessible for all! What a time.

I was so excited about Gifted Aetherborn that I ran here and I don't even play this. It's an auto-four, I imagine: the two slot is VERY weak outside of Dark Confidant. Gifted Aetherbornplays defense MUCH better than Bloodghast, and I don't think the recursion of the latter is worth missing this new one.

This is bonkers. We're talking about a potential free spell, plus a 2/2 body. Many cards have proven why the first matters, and Snapcaster Mage has proven that a 2/x body can truly matter.

Spicy cards! Whir of Invention is my favorite at the moment: I think it'll be good enough for Eggs in modern and maybe for a brew in Legacy. Instant speed and no sacrifice is nothing to sneeze at, compared to Transmute Artifact and there are playable artifacts that one can tap (Pithing Needle? Ensnaring Bridge) EoT for some interesting effects.

If you could get a Mox Jet, Pearl, or Ruby for anywhere in the range $800, that's a price to look at for sure. Mox Sapphire would be a catch at $900.

I've always been a fan of the "legendary" clause in the potential Dual reprints: if it was a Snow Legend, then we'd be getting two functional differences: while both are minor, they'd add up together.

Good point. For flavor (it's throwing limbs) I'd add a "tap" sign to the ability. That way it doesn't obsolete Mogg Fanatic because Fanatic can be activated instantly.

It's very four-drop heavy, hence the two talismans, but that's fair. As for Turns, I wasn't sure if it counted myself, but it is built around maximizing and applying Time Warp as best it can, so I figured it might be worth mentioning. It started as a more traditional build with Narset, but honestly the four Turns effects proved to be enough with Rebound and Flashback giving them potential triple-duty.

I can see how it isn't Turns in the traditional approach, but I think it's part of the same family: but perhaps more of a cousin than a sibling.

    Hey guys,

Here's my U/W Taking Turns model for comparison.

I love this deck and consistently win matches against top tier threats. Narset is a house: it digs, give you card advantage, soaks up damage on an undefended board and of course rebounds your time warp WHILE providing CA as you dig.

Similarly, baby Jace is a beast here: it digs and flashes back your Warps.

Even though I only run four, I get mileage aplenty. The ideal hand, which happens fairly often is:

Turn 1: Serum visions or a tapped land.
Turn 2: Talisman of Progress, a reactive spell pierce or path to exile
Turn 3: Narset Transcendent, +1 for a card.
Turn 4: Rebound a Time Warp and start chaining your value.

This has a strong build against both aggro and control maindeck: counting the flexibility of Cryptic Command we have 8(!) sweepers main-decked that can be active on turn three! Cryptic Command also does double duty with Spell Pierce to give us 8(!) main-decked counters. And, while some of these may be dead, 4 copies of Jace, Vyrn's Prodigy help you filter through what you need before boarding them out.

Against control and midrange, Narset Transcendent pulls you out with backbreaking value: it can't be hit profitably by Abrupt Decay or Lightning Bolt. Time Warp obviously is obscene against midrange as well, and can help pull you out of many situations.

The sideboard can be tuned to your meta but I like three Ancestral Visions in the board for grindy matches, with the rest given to your favorite hate in twos and threes (Stony Silence, Grafdigger's Cage Timely Reinforcements etc)

Let me know how you like it! I've posted good results on Xmage in testing.

I'm pleasantly surprised as the smart, careful, and cordial posts on this, so let me add my two cents.

I'm a Leftist, and I've had good discussions with Trump voters. I love them, and I understand their emotions. I also believe they're being terribly conned at best, and, at worst, accessories to the greatest evil our country has ever seen in the form of an authoritarian, evil, and Neo Nazi adjacent cultural force.

But! I listen to them. I talk with them. I try to understand them, and, now and then, I change my mind on certain issues.

I'm a little religious, and I truly believe in loving all of humanity. I also believe in rejecting evil, forcefully.

You know that phrase, "kill them with kindness?" I believe that. I seek to "kill" the evil inside them with love, knowledge, care etc. They are our brothers in Christ, in country, in blood and in love, even as they are misled. Love the sinner, but hate the sin.

But one must hate the sin. One cannot fake moral equivalency that maybe Neo Nazis deserve legitimacy, or that racial slurs should be ignored. A peace built on injustice is immoral.

I will fight evil with whatever tools I can. Most of those tools are peaceful, and love-centric. God help us the day they aren't. But I will not let evil triumph.

I'm new to this thread, but I'm baffled by the Mono-U take. I have had tremendous success with a U/W Narset transcendent build that runs Supreme Verdict and Path To Exile along with jace, vryn's prodigy: it's absolutely brutal against control, midrange or aggro, with Spell Pierce and Cryptic Command providing flex spots and mainboard Combo prevention.

Since we don't care about "budget" and are focusing on the best build, this one seems supremely optimal. The land base (Flooded Strand, Hallowed Fountain, and the best man-land printed in celestial colonnade) means you sacrifice very little in terms of stability, especialy if you run Talisman of Progress like I do to accelerate and color-fix. That build has stronger outs to aggro and the 'walkers have terrific synergy with multiplying and finding your time-walks, which I only run 6 of (sorry if that's treason.) Plus! The White splash has MUCH stronger sideboard hate, including classics like Stony Silence, Rest in Peace, and even Timely Reinforcements.

However you split it, I encourage you to check out Narset transcendent if nothing else. She is INSANE in this sort of deck. Narset plusses up to 7 on turn four, digging in a card for more than half your deck while (likely) soaking up tons of damage. Plus, you can rebound Time Warp WHILE having an engine that abuses extra turns in the form of a card advantage walker that survives Bolts and Decays both. Try yours today!
