Thanks again Jay for providing this journey down memory lane. I had read Moons of Mirrodin and Fifth Dawn, but never read Darksteel Eye, don't know why, I just skipped it and picked up Dawn. This summary def filled in some blanks. My only issue with the story was the five year jump, just not a fan of that plot device.
Now that I'm thinking of it, I wish Bruenna had received a card at some point. She saved Glissa's hide countless times, and she's a capable, resourceful character.
Thanks again and looking forward to Scars and the rise of New Phyrexia.

Mar 28, 2017TearingEons posted a message on The World of Mirrodin I: Moons of MirrodinThanks for writing these up Jay! Mirrodin is one of my favorite planes for many reasons, and this summary fills in some blanks from long ago. Chiefly, the explanation of the gravity shifts moving toward the core definitely helped me picture things. And I remember the plant of the smudge that Memnarch wipes away, and how it instantly incepts him to see the world as imperfect where he saw perfection seconds before. Some did think it was possibly Phyrexian (glistening oil wasn't a term yet), but it was only speculation from those that even read the books. Overall, the Start of Mirrodin's story is fun and cannot wait for the next installments.Posted in: Articles
Also, keep up the good work. Really enjoying the summaries as written from the Phyrexian perspective. And Thanks for doing the history of Phyrexia as well. That was an enjoyable read as well. -

Also, thanks for the link to Thraximundar's Face of War. It's one of my favorites.
Keep up the amazing work!!! -

It's always a blast remembering past worlds and seeing tidbits that were missed the first time. For me, this was Dark Discoveries, def a good read!Posted in: Articles
Alara was a world that brought me back to Magic after a couple year hiatus, so it's nice to see it again. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
The angel subplot def gave Tazri the room to grow and lead. And Tazri's interactions with Drana were were good, especially when both are sizing each other up and Tazri's subconscious is telling her "so what if the vampire is thousands of years old, you survived Infinity!"
Maybe it's how you stated on the 'Time=Evolution,' where Em speeds up the biological clock of organics to varying levels to induce mutation. And I can also see how Em's Wastes are dust because Em rapidly accelerates the organics' time and they age to dust in an instant (think Last Crusade ;)).
The BFZ story line did have a black hero in Drana, who's short story was one of the best of the story line's entries. Whether or not she shows up in an Oath entry is to be seen, but her portrayal thus far shows not all black heroes can be done decently.
EDIT: After thinking about it, the thought of Ruin on T2, Explosive Vegetation on T3, followed up by 7 drop/Atarka on T4 would be nice.
Mental Mistep this is not. But it does do a lot of great things!
For BR, are we looking to be aggressive, especially once Reality Smasher comes out? Or do we stay midrange?
For Mono B, I do like the mana base, but are Maps needed as a 4 of? And has anyone tried Devour Flesh as a cheap and instant edict?
I know some of these questions are a bit scattered, but it seems like these two fell out of the discussion many pages ago. Thanks for any help!
EDIT:
Also, my favorite Ob quote:
"He interrupted me with a slash from his metal...quadruple...whip thing. Was he actually wielding a sural?"
I'm just saying, the last time I thought this was for the art for Kozilek's Return, which was in the UR before the Christmas break. Another member said the same thing at the time, and then the card was spoiled on here. So you never know
I do wish Emrakul was in that piece too; would love to have a playmat with all three like that.
The art is dark and the only real light source highlights the waste, which to me, gives the sense of hopelessness.
Cannot wait to see what cards gets this one.
I've been watching the posts on the Facebook feed and this couldn't be more true haha
