Hi guys, looking to try this deck again. I'm cautious about grave hate, but with Venser and grave titan that should be okay. I can't seem to find a list I like, however.

I would like to use through the breach, either in addition to or instead of mannequin, to rely on the graveyard less, though that may have to be post sideboard.

Are there any lists running green? Sultai charm seems fantastic, and abrupt decay/maelstrom pulse would also be extremely good against typical hate cards.

Anyway, could anyone post a list that uses through the breach, and has a grave titan squeezed in mainboard? And a Venser side or main? Anyone else trying green?

I played a list briefly a long time ago, that ran an Obzedat. Is that still considered decent?

Hi guys, with bridge dropping considerably on modo, I would like to try lantern. What would you use if you couldn't have mox opals?

It does, thank you! I'll be getting this soon.

Hell. I'm very interested in playing this Dec but it seems to have become almost nonexistent on mtgo. Is there any reason for this? Is it not very good against company, valakut, and eldrazi nonsense?

  • posted a message on [Primer] Zoo [Video Primer]
Hi guys! Quick question. Does gruul zoo play somewhat similar to Naya burn? I play burn now and I love it, I sold all my excess stuff in MTGO and am going to get another deck. I am debating between a gruul zoo to use tarmogoyfs, vexing devils, kird apes, and maybe goblin guides? I think all of those creatures seem very cool and fun to use.

I guess my main question is, is gruul zoo as good as naya burn, and, how does the play style differ? If it's not as good, I will pick something else. Any input is greatly appreciated. Smile I would not mind adding white to gruul zoo for things like path, helix, and wooly thoctar.

Hello, is bug sultai infect really that much worse than GU infect? I think plague stingers are really cool, and thoughtsiezes and abrupt decay seem like incredibly useful tools to me. Smile

How are you liking affinity? Im tempted to sell my mtgo collection for this and infect since they both share inkmoths as a big chunk of their price, and I would love an aggressive deck that can "go wide" with its threats.

Ughh reading this thread makes me want to sell my mtgo collection to get this and affinity. Frown I like the theme, too. I picture the infect player hiring assassins to go dodge the opponents spells and creatures to kill them.

Is bug infect good on mtgo? I really like the black infect flier.

I understand now that mud isn't exactly going to be a thing in modern, but are there any competitive decks right now that play similarly? Something that tries to just deny the opponent the ability to do anything?

Okay, awesome! Thanks a lot for your insights. I do really like the phantasmal images, too. Dropping in a copy of a lord or master of waves is really helpful!

Or copying a lord or even Silvergill Adept. I like Phantasmal Image too and I think now it's good time to play it since Twin is not very popular.

I'm glad you like it too! I tapped one in and duplicated a gurmag angler, was a pretty nice trade. Much more reliable to use on our own stuff but is pretty flexible as well. How do you feel about spellskites? Whenever I side them in I never seem to have them when they would be useful. Ever. Frown

  • posted a message on [Primer] Gx Tron
Your first list is pretty good. For a budget tron, you would need the core to get tron going with all the spheres and fetch spells and all of that. Karplusan forest is essentially the same thing as grove of the burnwillows, and you could replace O stones with all is dust. Perilous vault and all is dust are definitely sub-optimal to oblivion stones though. You also kind of need the karns and ugins to make the deck good. Playing a turn 3 or 4 karn or ugin is what makes tron great. Without that...you might as well not play tron. You're just a bunch of board sweeps and big creatures, and you'll probably not have the mana you need to cast your board sweeps anyway. I think at that point playing a restore balance deck would be better, and that's certainly not tron. Sorry! But the planeswalkers are very important. I assume bane of bala ged is in there because the planeswalkers aren't? More Newlamog would be better instead. 10 is kind of a magic number that's easy for tron to hit early. Seven is just where karn should be at.

I could be wrong, I only played tron for a short time. Just my observations.

Not a fan of Phantasmal Image - I'd rather see some mainboard Spell Pierce. Most of the rest looks good.

I didn't know how I felt about them either. But I think they are there for copying an emrakul or something, or making a duplicate lord but I think I would agree they are kind of fishy. I will try spell pierce.

Most of the variations share a pretty heavy core right? I should be able to adapt relatively easily?
