If you are already reading this, why not pick a card and vote? The point of this excercise is to have people collectively choose the next pick after all. You don't have to explain your choice, that is optional.
Maybe Bond of Agony (Note, that you have to pay X mana and a black as well as X life for the spell)
You can also run the many deal damage to all players cards, like red's Inferno or green's Claws of Wirewood. Black can drain all players while gaining you life, for example with Blood Tithe. The extort mechanic does this as well.
edit:
You can also use something like Axis of Mortality or Magus of the Mirror in conjunction with Blood Celebrant or Adanto Vanguard to lower your life total to right above 0, then exchange life totals with your opponent. Risky, because they can just Bolt you when you are low on life, and you also have to still somehow deal the finishing blow after that stunt.
If Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign is the only possible choice of a red or black source, then yes, you have to choose that one. You cannot simply ignore a mantdatory instruction. Only if the instruction is impossible to carry out will it be ignored.
The rule you quoted is irrelevant for the scenario, since you are not changing the top card of the library while casting a spell, you are resolving one. Similarly, state based actions play no role in this scenario, since those aren't checked while a spell/ability is resolving, only afterwards when it is finished. A spell or ability can have multiple effects, like Opt, which has two effects, first the scry 1, then the draw. In between these effects, the new top card will be revealed. Thus all players know, what card is being drawn since it has been revealed before the draw.
Damn, this is a hard one, Candle for removal, Serra Angel, Drake, AND the Archaeologist. Don't want to pass the Angel, but that Archaeologist just has too much synergy with the deck to pass.
Edit:
Changed my mind. That Serra Angel is just better on its own, and the Archaeologist might even come back if no deck can make use of that synergy like this one does.
Aaaand we are in round 3! 8 fresh packs full of goodies. The packs will be passed the other way around again. And you'll have 2 days for contemplating and dicussing the picks until the packs have tabled.
I also decided, that I will throw in my own two cents earlier, and not wait until the ship has sailed. My votes still won't have any influence unless it's a tie or no votes have been given.
