A victim mentality may manifest itself in a range of different behaviors or ways of thinking and talking:
Blaming others for a situation that one has created oneself or significantly contributed to. Failing or being unwilling to take responsibility for one's own actions or actions to which one has contributed or for taking action to ameliorate the situation.
Ascribing non-existent negative intentions to other people (similar to paranoia).
Believing that other people are generally or fundamentally luckier and happier ("Why me?").
Gaining short-term pleasure from feeling sorry for oneself or eliciting pity from others. Eliciting sympathy by telling exaggerated stories about bad deeds of other people (e.g. during gossip).
People with victim mentality may develop convincing and sophisticated arguments in support of such ideas, which they then use to convince themselves and others of their victim status.
People with victim mentality may also be generally:
negative, with a general tendency to focus on bad rather than good aspects of a situation. A glass that is half full is considered half empty. A person with a high standard of living complains about not having enough money. A healthy person complains of minor health problems that others would ignore (cf. hypochondriasis).
self-absorbed: unable or reluctant to consider a situation from the point of view of other people or to "walk a mile in their shoes".
defensive: In conversation, reading a non-existent negative intention into a neutral question and reacting with a corresponding accusation, hindering the collective solution of problems and instead creating unnecessary conflict.
categorizing: tending to divide people into "goodies" and "baddies" with no gray zone between them.
unadventurous: generally unwilling to take risks; exaggerating the importance or likelihood of possible negative outcomes.
exhibiting learned helplessness: underestimating one's ability or influence in a given situation; feeling powerless.
stubborn: tending to reject suggestions or constructive criticism from others who listen and care; unable or reluctant to implement the suggestions of others for one's own benefit.
self-abasing: Putting oneself down even further than others are supposedly doing.
A victim mentality may be reflected by linguistic markers or habits, such as pretending
not to be able to do something ("I can't..."),
not to have choices ("I must..."), or
not to know the answer to a question ("I don't know").

Nov 6, 2015Klamsmith posted a message on The Magic Street Journal: How to Handle "That Guy"This isn't a platform for your victim complex. The article was fine until the phrase "The elephant in the room is women and minorities playing Magic in unwelcoming areas" where your article turns into the great plight facing women in gaming. Three of my good magic friends are homosexual we play magic at three different venues regularly. There are several female regulars we see and play with as well and if someone says something degrading to them they wouldn't hesitate to call them out on it, they don't expect a white knight to save them. The thing is "That Guy" is already reguarded as an a-hole wherever he is. Stereotypes exist thats the cold hard truth it's your job to change that perspective. This article shouldn't be about what I have to do as a player if I see BS I'm calling BS on someone acting like an a-hole. It shouldn't be about what a judge should do or what a store owner should do they already understand what needs to be done. It should be about helping women change that stigma of "just being there for their boyfriend" and "not understanding how to play". My wife plays magic with me as well the only time anyone said anything to her was two years ago when she boomerranged a guys first and second attempt at putting a land into play at fnm. Who just ended up rage quitting and leaving the store after she called him out. So yes magic has a number of "That Guys" who are the internet trolls of real life and the number one rule is don't feed the trolls.Posted in: Articles

But the prices are not being brought down to make them accessible. wizards is uping rarity on a limited product that will be sold above msrp at many of the hobby shops. which will only be bought by diehard fans like you by the box in the hopes of flipping the contents for a profit on the secondary market. thats were most of these chase rares/mythics will end up. Not in the hands of players trying to play the game. Yeah prices will dip (barely) a few months but then we are in the exact same boat. The amount that the prices drop wont create the draw that the eternal formats need to be sustainable
The sarcasim and salt is real. I do realize that they need to make money mr condescending intellectual. I never said they shouldnt. I just said it was a blatent cash grab to boost sales. Do you remember what mythic rares were originally created for. It was to apply to "epic" level spells such as planewalkers and lore based legendarys/items not deck staples.
You are automatically biased against reprints because you have either spent the money on high secondary market prices or bought low and are looking to sell high, perhaps both. But take a step back from your throne of cardboard and look at what this looks like to someone whos just starting magic. Its crazy to even think about breaking into legacy/vintage with the prices the way they are now and whats going to happen to your collection if the format dies?
Moneys value is set by the government and is a liquid asset, mtg cards are not dont pull that dumb "Ill trade my 20 for your 100" bullcrap
