Are you really expecting Palin to just condemn her daughter? I would be much more hesistant to vote for a VP that is willing to disown her own daughter because she got pregnant. If anything, Palin support of her daughter shows her emphasis on family values. It's certainly not hypocrisy.
Besides, character attacks - and even worse, attacks on a politician's children - is the lowest form of politics.

RAV-TSP had a large number of decks that didn't even play Goyf, and Goyf came really late into the format. Dragonstorm, Angelfire/Jeskai, and UB Control were the biggest decks at the time. At the very end of the format we got a Gruul deck that used Goyf pretty well.
TSP-LOR was more Goyf territory, but Goyf was held in check because the UB Faeries deck was ridiculously unfair (Bitterblossom, Cryptics, Scions, Mistbind Cliques) and Reveilark combo had the right mix of tempo/late game to crush Goyf decks. It was still played in some decks but it wasn't dominant in the way that other cards have been in Standard.
It was a "good card" but not even the format defining card of that Standard, which has to go to Bitterblossom.
For tournament play, Draft/Sealed are very easy to access since all you need is the upfront cost to enter the tournament. There's lots of draft videos out there to spectate, or simulators to practice with.
Constructed formats: Modern is expensive upfront but archetypes and cards that are good will tend to stay good (outside of bannings). Standard is less expensive upfront but rotates regularly (we've currently transitioning to a two rotations a year format).
The best way to grow a collection for tournament play is by being singles, not packs.
They brought in outside help to get development going smoother, so there's that. We'll see if they get more aggressive with their changes, though.
Since you seem to be American, it's very possible your last name got changed at some point. A lot of American families changed their names to fit in better (that 'x' might confuse some people).
I think older cards (that can't be redeemed) will drop a lot more, but it's possible both will drop. Redemption is a really big part of newer card prices, no doubt.
Some jobs do seem more stable than others though, and most jobs involve acquiring certain skills or experience that helps you get other jobs.
Not directed at you, but to me trying to support a family off of an internet card game seems selfish.
Some of my other family names are less clear though. One of them was changed at Ellis Island, and another is clearly Scottish or Scotch-Irish but again doesn't have much of a specific meaning (the internet suggests "son of the servant of" and Irish saint, but all that really does is place the name in Northern Ireland at some point after the 7th century).
Economic Left/Right: -2.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79
(and for context, I'm an undergrad economics major)
I think I last took this specific test in a high school government class, where I scored right-libertarian. I identified as a Libertarian back then, but I would never do so these days. Being a Libertarian (with a big 'L') implies holding a lot of rather extreme beliefs, so I'm more comfortable saying that I like markets and value my civil liberties.
I'd be more worried about the control matchup, because you have to rely on Draw-Go Advent of the Wurm to actually win.
Oh, and for the bio stuff:
Ethnicity: White (Irish American)
Education: Undergrad economics student
