Neat deck, I've always loved Hazezon. How about a Sylvan Library? You've got a deck shuffle every 2-3 turns.
Sylvan Library is a great card, and I would love to work it in; especially since I can tutor it out rather easily
I know exactly what you mean Trout; Rhys is another amazing card that I haven't gotten around to testing.
I've also been thinking about finding a place for Riftsweeper; a few reasons:
1) Lots of RFG effects in EDH.
2) Academy Rector RFGs itself with its effect - shuffling it back in and tutoring it back out would be fun.
3) Works with Lark.
Now what I really need are suggestions for what to take out
I've been kicking around this idea for a while now and decided that engaging other creative minds on this forum could be a lot of fun. The idea in question is how to build an EDH deck based on the legendary Kurosawa film, The Seven Samurai. Firstly, I'll innumerate the seven:
These ideas applied, there’s 2 samurai not applied: Kikuchiyo and Shichirōji. This discussion is simply for flavor and has no effect on the deck so I’ll move forward.
The difficult aspect of working on this deck is maintaining flavor. There’s not a lot of reason to build a deck like this unless flavor is weighed carefully…thus my dilemma:
Can we build a Seven Samurai EDH deck with as many cards as possibly that are both functionally useful while being justifiable with respect to flavor.
Some cards that I’ve decided should be included are:
First of all, to keep the theme, you should not include any other creatures that are samurai. You should, of course, include lots of other creatures, just no samurai.
Very cool idea, and an amazing film. Not sure on the remaining two samurai, but you should definitely pack in lots of good equipment (because of the scene in which the samurai discover the weapons cache that the farmers have kept secret). Jitte, and both Swords come to mind first, but I'm sure there are lots that you can include. Check out Zendikar.
Devil Eater
Creature- Imp Beast
Unless a nonartifact permanent has a divinity counter, during each player's upkeep, each player can't cast non-creature spells.
the red-white fetch was in my booster along with the volcanic island
I was quite happy myself.
seems like the fetches come out real easy though:
1 out of my 6 sealed deck boosters
3 out of my 10 price boosters
4/16 -> 1/4
that's just one persons luck you might think, but a lot of my friends were opening the fetches as well..
Congrats Bloody! That's definitely a dream pack!
I agree with those odds you give for opening fetches - that seemed to be the case at my prerelease as well. I opened Arid Mesa, my friend next to me opened the U/B, another friend of mine opened two........of course, it seems like chase rares always show up with more frequency when a set is first released.
Does anyone know how long this old stuff is going to be repacked in boosters? Surely not for the entire print run of the set........
doubling season is definitely needed....I forgot I could abuse it w/ my general in addition to the planeswalkers....nicol bolas w/ doubling season is sick!!
I think I am going to make a "sideboard"...so I can change cards out for when i am playing multiplayer vs when I am playing 1v1
How about Doubling Season? It's AMAZING with planeswalkers......instantly indestructible with Elspeth? Instant dragon army with Sarkhan Vol? Yes please!
This is my Nicol Bolas deck - it evolved from my old Niv-Mizzet deck, which was, sadly, cannibalized by Bolas in the creation of his deck (figures:rolleyes:). My Niv deck had a strong focus on Fork effects and stealing stuff, but I always wanted to have Memory Plunder, and better removal and tutoring, so Nicol Bolas seemed like the best solution (besides, the strategy is right in line with Bolas's character ).
I've been playing Wort EDH for quite a while to reasonable success and I must say Stingscourger is an auto include. He basically deals with the horrible big monsters people tend to play. Also because of echo he is very easy to recur with Wort.
Yea, he's not too bad, but I must say, far from an "auto-include". I think I would rather have a permanent solution like Terminate. Besides, I've found that my deck relies less and less on Wort; though she is, of course, VERY useful.
...........
First thing's first; get a Goblin Recruiter in there. Now.
Ok, now that you've fixed the worst mistake of your life, (....;)....) the deck looks rather good so far. I see a number of things that I would drop (most of which I've tested in my deck in the past).
You seem to be sorely lacking in the removal department. I recommend adding in lots of efficient removal spells like Terminate, Wrecking Ball, Bargain in Blood, Warren Weirding, Grave Pact, and Innocent Blood, to mention a few. Check out the first post of this thread - I've outlined in detail the insanity of which this deck is capable. It also contains my most recent decklist featuring a new focus on blue hate with the Fork set and the Blasts.

Also added Eldrazi Monument........another powerful new addition.
Check out the list in the first post.
Check it out.
From your list, I would drop:
Volcanic Fallout
Mass Hysteria (benefits opponents too much.....I've tried it)
Akroma's Memorial (not enough creatures)
Barbarian Ring (too much damage for you over time)
Stuffy Doll (unless you only play 1v1)
Hope that helps.
fixed the card tags.

Also, I'm testing out Rings of Brighthearth - always wanted to, but never got around to it.

Who is your general, by the way? I don't see it listed......
If you haven't decided yet, I like Progenitus - can't argue with rules text like "protection from everything".
