Glad i'm not the only one who thought of this, this is actually kinda nuts.
Yeah the bit that clinches this as potentially busted is the fact that things don't exile going into the graveyard, I had to do a double take on the card when you mentioned it. I can see this doing something nuts in legacy/vintage/EDH though it's potential outside of those formats is probably limited. I say probably because there are always small interactions that can break cards like this in half but as of yet are just unseen (obviously legacy/vintage/EDH it's fairly apparent what those things are but Standard/pioneer/modern less so at the moment.)
Actually I get what they're going for this is essentially trying to do the Oblivion ring loop. So the champion loop does work since these are ETB triggers oppose to coming into play triggers ( Clone ) but this particular stated loop would not as we can see here represented by A( Fanatic Of Mogis ) and C,B,D (Champion Creatures)
A>B CD(Pending)
B>C A(Trigger) D(Pending)
C>D B(champion A)
The result is A under B and C under D with no loop created. Three champions does create a loop though so if you had some ETB trigger things this would be a interesting way to loop and kill your opponent, see Impact tremors, Purphoros, god of the forge, altar of the brood.
Well actually Massacre Girl won't solve this problem out right (at least not when the Archon is out) as they'd all be out of MG range with out some other way of killing their/your creatures. But I think you're right in terms of keeping the board under control before it's dropped, though with Scapeshift rotating out the deck will be far less consistent.
Right? I'm actually really surprised here.
100% correct. The only 2 additions that needs to be noted here is you need one other goblin to start this up (not like that's very hard)along with a 3Rinvestment and that this also generates infinite colorless mana as a byproduct so do with that what you will.
