I will never tell you what to do with your money but trying to store value in cards that CAN be reprinted at any time was never really financially sound. Overpriced staples and playables in the format are hurting it more than any reprint IMHO.

I've been thinking about deathmark, seems pretty relevant right now as removal tech, not to mention the awesome artwork as well. I've always struggled with bw tokens in general because I never seem to know when to play the control game and grind or apply pressure as quickly as possible so my deck list is somewhat caught between both modes as far as individual cards like bb vs rta. I just can't seem to part with blossoms but maybe it's time...

Nice list. Your thought process seems really on point. I think others have said before but it seems like tokens draws the wrong half of the deck a lot of the time. Our lack of an efficient way to dig for answers usually means a loss in a lot of games that could have otherwise gone the other way. I'm testing out legion's landing as a 2-of as well but not sure about cutting a land yet.

I've been perusing the humans thread for a little while now cuz I love the idea and tribal theme behind this decktype and being 4 and 5 colours is so rad. Really curious to see how this Mullens list does again today because it's right up my alley and I'm so tempted to start acquiring the pieces.

I'm operating under the assumption that FP is going to be a 4-of and Path will round out the removal package with 2-4 copies, probably 3 for me, to start. I would gladly bring in paths from the sb in match ups where fp is dead.

I've been having an absolute BLAST with Ayli at the helm since jumping from ghost dad, and then teysa. It really is true that she can win in so many different ways. THE other night, I was one generic mana shy of pulling a win out of nowhere when already on he ropes.

On Mangara, it does just do nothing and then die sometimes but the utility of being ANY permanent removal and looping potential makes it too sweet to omit IMO.

Tree of perdition is so on point with the flavor and play style of Ayli and this deck that I don't think I could cut it either.

Demon seems decent in a classic Orzhov ghost dad style list that wants to abuse ETB/LTB abilities and get grindy. My current multi player edh list is a an Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim deck with lots of sac/recur/reanimator going on and I think it could definitely have a home in the 99 there. Flavor wise, it's spot on.

Can somebody explain the appeal of Kessig Prowler. Sure it flips, but it dies to removal well before you're gonna flip it. Yea, I could vines it. But I feel like I want to save Vines to put on a bigger threat. That being said, I've seen a few lists with Prowler on there. So I'm wondering....why? Why this over say Gladecover Scout? Or even Bassara Tower Archer I just feel in Modern I need dudes that are evasive, resilient, or just straight up cannot be killed.

Just another 2 power one drop to streamline the curve. He's less than ideal but for the time being is necessary until we get something better.

I'm absolutely going to run the full 4 concealed courtyard. Having turn one Thoughtseize and only fetches/non-black source is rough and fetching a swamp usually effs the curve to an otherwise good hand. I'm on the plan about bringing down the fetch count to six like others have mentioned and will probably drop a couple shrines and eliminate the check lands all together.

Hey Xenphire, awesome job on the primer, you're doing a great job carrying the torch now as blackjack's successor. I put together a list pretty close to yours and won a 4 player game the other night with a Liliana, Defiant Necromancer ultimate and wrathing a board full of fatties and relentless rats. Just wondering what your opinion on the flip lili is. I had a lot of success with the discard abilities on her and LotV, I can flip her at will, and op's graveyards fill up pretty quick with fatties for us to reanimate when everyone is discarding every turn. Anyway, keep up the good work, I'll try to post my list soon.

I just played my first tournament with Teysa and wasn't horrendous. Pretty grindy, but she can win games. Contamination+Bitterblossom lock is pretty brutal on opponent.

I'm going into a tournament blind soon this month with Teysa. Can't wait to suck, ***** the bed and then sleep in it for a while. I think win or lose though, the experience is going to be valuable going forward and will give us a better idea of what direction we need to go as noobs to become more competitive. Maybe don't spend too much $ until you've rocked a few games and have a better feel for the format. Don't be ashamed of a few ***** stains on the ginch.

Yep. But then the "core" isn't there and everyone yells "this isn't a BW Tokens deck."
We're not going to be 1-1.5 any time soon.

Yeah I pulled the trigger on a Lp Wasteland for $55 CAN so I'm feeling dandy. Bob isn't too crazy but Lili is gona be hard to justify. I'm fingers crossed for a zen-fetch reprint in the next couple sets but I can always buck up for the last 2 I need if I run with the DC thing.

Thanks guys for the recommendations. I've ordered a Wasteland and I think I'm going to look at trading towards a Mox Diamond and the remaining fetches in the near future.
