So you want cheaty face legal for eternal formats? I think the DCI wants to have a word with you.
Sarcasm aside, moving any UN set cards to real formats is an awful idea. It would cause way to much confusion. Also you can just use your UN cards in your own social circles if your group agrees.
Why would someone cheating at an event mean the event as a whole needs to be thrown out? If I run an FNM and one of my players gets suspended a few weeks later, should I no longer be able to sanction an event?
He beat/got beaten by people, which affects the entire tournament structure. The winner/top8 would have been completely different if he hadn't been allowed entry.
Pro Tour Paris made me come back to playing some serious Magic. Standard is one of the best formats I remember in my 8 years "career". There are so many complex interactions, and deck can attack from so many angles, with 2 mana costing guys playing vital role in controls and aggro decks dropping planeswalker bombs. I believe that flexibility is the key in this format, but on the other hand there is so much raw power going on...
I'm not sure if this is a newsflash for you, but you just described legacy, minus the planeswalkers. Especially with the 2 mana costing guys and complex interactions.
Considering that the ending of Test of Metal sees Doctor Jest and Tezz on their way to fulfill an errand for Bolas (one that we know is the Mirrodin situation, from DD:EvT), I see no problem with this - on the contrary, it was fully expected.
Why the evil look then? And hadn't Tez supposedly 'given up' on his dependence on etherium (wasn't that the riddle)? If so, what's with the arm? Alright, it might not be etherium but the card's art doesn't reflect a single bit how I imagined Tez at the end of the book.
The card's first ability is pretty appropriate imo, and so is the second, but where's that ultimate coming from? I know, they can't justify everything in card design, but still. That's also an ability usually associated with evil characters.
Maybe this is too much nitpicking, but I loved the novel and am fearing for its canonity (canon-ness?).
In my opinion, the ending of the book clearly states that Tezzeret is conspiring against Bolas. How is he an agent of Bolas then?
Also. why does he look so vicious in that art? What's up with his "etherium" arm? Why does he look so evil? Wasn't Test of Metal about Tezzeret reforming himself?
So, this deck is based on Explosive Revelation + Selective Memory. When you have enough counter backup and mana, you cast Selective Memory to remove everything but Explosive Revelations and an Emrakul from your deck. Then cast Explosive Revelations and profit.
What do you guys think? God hand can Insta-win on turn 5 by burning them down to 15 on turns 1-3, then Selective on t4 (leaving only Emrakul) and Explosive for Emrakul on t5.
Sideboard would probably have more counters, Pyroclasm for aggro, Into the Roil against Leyline.
The Cheese Stands Alone
Barren Glory
----------------------------------------
Rocket-Powered Turbo Slug
Pact of the Titan
etc. etc. Not all of them are so bad. But yeah, most of them are ridiculous and totally unplayable in a competitive mindset.

You forgot a /sarcasm sign here. Do not mislead the OP.
Right. I personally liked Test of Metal, but I like that kind of story anyway. I also liked Invasion block.

Well, in his defense, the card art does look really evil.

What does this card mean taking into consideration the conclusion of Test of Metal? Is the entire book retconned or something?

Now it loads for me too.
Then why are these scammers even allowed to sell this stuff as medicine?
