I had one redic game where I had all 3 in play. Opponent wasn't games to block, so was taking 6 dmage a turn. When he was on 5, I played and sac'ed a Hexmage.
Having said that, cases like this don't happen everyday. Probably a 2- or 3-off.
I only have six fetches: Would 2x Grim Discovery work with only 6 fetches? Maybe I should drop one Grim Discovery to bring the fourth Disfigure into the MD, leaving room the fourth Sludge in the SB?
Sure, why not. I'm no oracle. I have played Gravelord - it's better against RDW where they really struggle to get rid of a 5/5. Worst thing about Gravelord is that whilst its a good T1, its a really poor lategame topdeck.
The collective wisdom against Jund seems to be to hold your Bloodghasts for Blightning, and hold off playing many creatures before Sludging away their hand. Then go all out while they are topdecking.
I have 3 open spots in my sideboard (used to be Marsh Casualties). What should I put in? I'm thinking possibly Quest for the Gravelord for the Jund MU
I can see Gravelord as much good against Jund. Sure you get a 5/5 after they blow away three of your creatures, but the token can be removed with a Terminate or Pulse, while the Gravelord can be Pulsed directly.
Best sideboard against Jund is Deathmark and Sludge. Then pray.
Yep. If I don't go nuts and try the Panda build, I'll probably run this on friday.
Thanks Mr Jack!! I'm not sure I like Lacerator all that much, so I am going to try a more mid-range for my first vampire outing at tonights FNM. It's not you - it's me - I've been playing control decks for so long that its hard to change back to suicide-aggro.
However, I might try an more aggressive build next week, just to mix things up. I'd love to hear how you go this week, especially with the Liliana and Grim Discovery. Liliana seems a little out of place in a balls-and-all aggro build, but only experience can tell.
It was a pretty crappy night. I hate losing 2 games. Plus, I didn't pull crap out of my booster pack. Oh well. I changed up my deck and I hope it does well this upcoming weekend.
Thx for the great report. 2/2 is not stellar, but could be worse. I'm hoping things will get better for us in the next couple of weeks.
Can you post your current decklist? I'm guessing the list through the link in your sig is no longer correct - no mention of Mind Funeral.
anyone have any suggestions before I take this to my first FNM event since Time Spiral?
Have fun; have a sideboard; don't overextend; watch out for Volcanic Fallouts and Maelstrom Pulses. Personally, I'd swap Zealous Persecution for Harm's Way.
Thoughts :
1.) 25 mana sources for this kinda of agro deck seems like too much =/ Going
Agreed. I dropped back to 3xSantums, and the deck seemed to run ok. Might think about dropping one borderpost too, or TatorNuts tech with Expanses i place of Sanctums.
Thoughts :
2.) I wished we had some sort of drawing power to help the deck go faster. I don't like esper charms and i really don't like mask of riddles
As carso87 said, I went 2-2: lost to UW Baneslayer and Cascade with pulses: beat a mana screwed BR Blightning and the "mirror" (quotes because carso87's deck and mine were quite different). I managed to Soul Manipulation one Baneslayer in game 2, but not the second. Would have been good to draw the halos, but such is magic. Someone suggested maindecking them.
As for cascade, I never seem to be able to get a canonist to stick in any game where it might actually count. Foundries were a dead loss again. I ran three, but only saw zero or two, and never when they would have been useful. Drawing two sucks big time. Might try Harm's Way in place of Foundry next week in the hope of protecting my bears.
Also played 1xDoomblade, and will look at at SB'ing these next week.

poo. i knew i have been out of it, but that's ridic ...
Beacsue FNM is tomorrow night, WWK is not legal yet, and it's been ages since I last played.
Then I have a whole week to catch up on the whole WWK discussion and figure what to do next.

Hey Mr Jack - it's been ages and dozens of pages since I saw a decklist from you. Any chance of getting your current monoblack decklist?

I've been wondering about Ponder.

You're prolly right, but I had a space in my maindeck after dropping one land, and was fishing for a one-off to try.
An in-play Glaze Fiend + Open the Vaults would have to be hilarious.
I'm also tempted to swap Glaze Fiends for Scullers to maximise the evasion.
