Sweet. That's a start. Playing around with that, I now notice that it's sorting cards in an order I didn't expect. Not sure what the criteria is.Quote from molster »the [deck] widget already works with the builder just do[deck]ID OF DECK[//deck]

Dec 15, 2017lyonhaert posted a message on MTGSalvation's Deckbuilder is Here!Well, since this is fresh and the comments are being read, I figured I'd post some initial thoughts here instead of the bugs forum.Posted in: Articles
- Making the Paste Deck option more up-front might save a lot of time for users. It was literally the last thing I saw because it's a small tab on the far right. Perhaps an initial modal question posed when building a new deck that asks the user to choose between building it manually vs pasting a list.
- Integration with deck threads would be awesome, because right now they'd have to be maintained separately. It feels like two implementations of the same feature (decklist and discussion), but I don't see people totally converting their decklist threads over to just this. Some possibilities there (and I tried to think of approaching from either direction):
- Being able to put the same widget in a post as what shows on the main page.
- A widget that serves as a replacement for the [deck] tag that shows the list of cards and such without having to click to a different screen. Possibly multiple widgets (or one with settings) for showing the different sections of the deckbuilder's information such as the descriptions. Maintaining a Primer in two places would be even more of a pain than they already are.
- Integration with the existing [deck] tag such as a new button in the upper right that allows a thread owner to convert the decklist in their OP to: A. create a new deck here if they haven't done so already and associates it with the thread; B. updates the thread-owner's associated deck if one already exists for that thread. Could also be associated to just a combination of userId+threadId per deck. Unfortunately, some selective parsing would be necessary for areas like the Commander decklist forums due to the strong convention of putting the cmc before the card name rather than the actual quantity.

Just be aware that if you exile a land with him, playing that land counts toward the number of lands per turn you can play. So if you played a land already and plop him down and turn over a land, you're SOL.
Life from the Loam is worth it, but without it you might try using something else with dredge such as Stinkweed Imp (just keep the dredge really light since your commander does it, too).
You'll also have a better time if you get a Prophet of Kruphix, too. Along with that you'd want to get multiple lands down (more than just 1 on your turn). So if you have them, Exploration and Burgeoning. If not, stuff like Walking Atlas and Sakura-Tribe Scout might help, especially paired with Prophet and LftL.
Also in that deck, the combination of LftL and Tasigur can deck you eventually, so Academy Ruins and Volrath's Stronghold are used to stick something from the graveyard on top of the library when it's time to draw so as not to die. Budget options exist, though: Anurid Scavenger, Battlefield Scrounger, Bow of Nylea, Canal Dredger, Haunted Crossroads.
Edit: I should also mention that I'll likely put Command Beacon in and take Ally Encampment out. I usually don't have the 1 available for activating it in response to something.
Brightstone Ritual is already in there, you know.
Hellrider is a bit expensive at 4 mana, which competes with casting Zada instead. And with the buffing, doubling, and trample involved in this deck, the damage he'll deal to each player is a fraction of what the creatures could deal. He's not terrible, and some might consider it for a variant that doesn't aim for millions of damage. I think he'd fit better in a Krenko deck that just focuses on tokens, rather than Zada where the focus in on the instants and sorceries that get radiated to our creatures.
Chrome Mox is definitely worth it, though I'll have to give my impressions some time of Koth.

Pretty much:
I haven't tried slotting in Pyroblast/Red Elemental Blast, Command Beacon, or Swiftfoot Boots. Mostly because my unfortunate experience last time was facing two control-ish decks in a 3-player game. So I'm trying not to overreact and see if this is enough.
Dragonrage and Final Fortune are still set aside for testing at some point.
Here's my current version I'll be playing with:
So I may eventually experiment with having a slot in the deck dedicated to rotating a single wincon card like Ghast or Wrangler or Reins.
I also came across Chain of Vapor.
Edit: Another budget possibility is Voidmage Husher, though it only stops activated abilities. For possible color fixing, there's Realmwright, though it's a creature.
For example, Awakening instead of Seedborn Muse?
Or the Vows of Malice, Wildness, Flight?
I also don't have 32 decks [yet].
I run a Cavern in my Norin deck (plenty of goblins there, too), but I think I only have the one. I might have to switch it and try that out.
Zap hasn't done so well just yet. It sucks a lot when you haven't been able to make creatures in the double-digits and it's the only cantrip you've come across. The only things that'll save my creatures if I use it and let all copies resolve is Titan's Strength, Brute Force, and possibly Strange Inversion (which has to be handled carefully, doing at least one of the first two before doing it again). I'll probably try it again soon, but I tend to dislike Balduvian Rage just as much as a cantrip because it says target attacking creature.
So far I'm looking at possibly Goblin Chirurgeon, Boots, Pyroblast, Beacon going in. Haven't started looking at slots for them, yet. I'll likely have to reduce my pump spell count to fit protection in.
I had already swapped out Fists for Uncanny Speed for the haste-enabling.
Edit: Regarding Iron Myr, testing will continue at some point. It's inclusion is about enabling that marginal edge in creatures and mana to help get the deck off the ground, at which point it isn't but a body.
So now it seems I'll have to approach this deck differently, with some protection for her. Command Beacon seems like it might be handy. Considering Pyroblast and Red Elemental blast as well.
Mesmeric Orb is one of my favorites, especially with Eater of the Dead. I'll be milling myself a bit, but that just guarantees some extra fuel for Eater. Just be careful when you drop it into play. Piracy and Blustersquall are fun with the Orb, though Turnabout can help you untap your critters to mill more. Intruder Alarm can be much more helpful, especially if you can produce more than 1 token (such as with Gisa) and tap creatures in between each of the Alarm's triggers.
Or use Infinite Reflection on Myr Galvanizer. That's fun, too. Just be careful that Phenax is not in play or does not have devotion when you do so, or he'll become a Galvanizer.
I also can't recommend Chromatic Lantern enough.
