Sweet. That's a start. Playing around with that, I now notice that it's sorting cards in an order I didn't expect. Not sure what the criteria is.Quote from molster »the [deck] widget already works with the builder just do[deck]ID OF DECK[//deck]

Dec 15, 2017lyonhaert posted a message on MTGSalvation's Deckbuilder is Here!Well, since this is fresh and the comments are being read, I figured I'd post some initial thoughts here instead of the bugs forum.Posted in: Articles
- Making the Paste Deck option more up-front might save a lot of time for users. It was literally the last thing I saw because it's a small tab on the far right. Perhaps an initial modal question posed when building a new deck that asks the user to choose between building it manually vs pasting a list.
- Integration with deck threads would be awesome, because right now they'd have to be maintained separately. It feels like two implementations of the same feature (decklist and discussion), but I don't see people totally converting their decklist threads over to just this. Some possibilities there (and I tried to think of approaching from either direction):
- Being able to put the same widget in a post as what shows on the main page.
- A widget that serves as a replacement for the [deck] tag that shows the list of cards and such without having to click to a different screen. Possibly multiple widgets (or one with settings) for showing the different sections of the deckbuilder's information such as the descriptions. Maintaining a Primer in two places would be even more of a pain than they already are.
- Integration with the existing [deck] tag such as a new button in the upper right that allows a thread owner to convert the decklist in their OP to: A. create a new deck here if they haven't done so already and associates it with the thread; B. updates the thread-owner's associated deck if one already exists for that thread. Could also be associated to just a combination of userId+threadId per deck. Unfortunately, some selective parsing would be necessary for areas like the Commander decklist forums due to the strong convention of putting the cmc before the card name rather than the actual quantity.

Temporal Extortion. Athreos.
Sounds fun, actually. Oloro sounds about right, because I'd be going for a lot of extort mechanic since I can eat away at my opponents life whether they pay the taxes or not. Adding this to my To Do list just for the hell of it.
Usually any new deck I bring gets ganged up on at first because they don't know what I'm up to. Because they assume I'm up to something. Because it's EDH and of course I am.
Just discovered Dual Nature while researching something else, so that could be fun, too.
Rite I just don't run anymore because it's ridiculous. I could reconsider later, but there are too many things run in my metas where kicking it means you win, but the win feels too sudden. It would be lots of fun to do so, because Scourge of Valkas would end up being 30 triggers and at least 6 damage for each trigger (180 total), and 6 total Utvara Hellkites all attacking would create 36 total 6/6 dragons. Not to mention cards that other people run. One friend had a Hagra Diabolist in his Tazri deck until someone kicked a Rite on it (125 total loss of life).
As for Maelstrom Wanderer, I have been considering moving Surrak into the 99 and testing with Wanderer as the commander. I'd want to run some bounce effects in addition to Temur Sabertooth in order to get more out of that.
I forgot about Keiga, too. That's a good one.

In with standard ramp, mana fixing, and dragon support (haste, copies, tutor, cost reduction).
Suggestions always welcome.
I'm okay with that, because usually that will just mean they spend removal on it. Otherwise I save it for when I'm prepared for the kind of attention it might bring.
One play I hope for is to tap out my soldiers, play Luminarch, then flash Masako at the right time to block and kill some important attackers while letting a bit of damage through for more soldiers.
True, it is CIPT, but the only other land I run that does is Emeria, so I'm not worried about that in my metas.
Sivvi's Valor or Jade Monolith for getting some extra damage to yourself.
Nomads' Assembly can put in some good work making more tokens.
Rather than go for static anthem effects, I've gone with temporary ones like Leonin Sun Standard and battle-cry-style creatures such as Signal Pest (searchable with Ranger), Hero of Bladehold, and Soltari Champion. Mostly so I could use Elspeth Tirel, Fell the Mighty, and possibly Meekstone, but that's not as relevant these days.
With many good creatures, especially ones that create tokens on ETB, Death or Glory can create lose-lose choices for you opponents, especially after a wipe.
Luminarch Ascension can also give your opponents a hard time about attacking or not attacking.
I'm testing Worship to see if it helps me leave otherwise lethal attacks unblocked for soldiers and life. Also testing between Mobilization and Militia's Pride to see if I like either in the deck.
I prefer Grand Coliseum over City of Brass since it gives me the option of painless colorless if somebody has dealt with Darien. A Thespian's Stage or Vesuva can come in useful for lands like Tarnished Citadel.
With only a couple sources of vigilance and a tapping source in the form of Catapult Master, I'm testing with Masako the Humorless to see if she's at all useful for surprise blocks. Possibly not, since with Darien and Soul Warden (or similar) on the field, I like to say "no blockers" pretty often.
This also reminded me that I need to find my copy of Leeches, because one friend runs an infect deck.
I'm also starting to feel remorse about using Capsize 2 or more times a turn in the late game with Tasigur. Especially if I have to start going after the last opponent's lands in order to keep them from slowing down their defeat (as I have a few friends that don't concede).
Never felt good about playing Magister Sphinx or Serra Ascendant without house-ruling the life total referenced.
The Braids deck I'm working on won't have any Eldrazi like most do, and will probably eschew counterspells entirely.
The Mimeoplasm deck I'm working on will largely be based on graft (and activated abilities and +1/+1 counters) rather than combos or milling other players. I'll probably run Traumatize, Psychic Spiral, and Hedron Crab (and maybe Chronic Flooding) but constrain myself to only targeting myself with them.
Other than that my other decks tend to follow the normal tropes of the commanders.
I do have a friend that took his Derevi deck in an Ally tribal direction, so that's also atypical.
Also, "RIP"?
