Regarding the 4 drops.. does anyone have recent experience with Pia and Kiran Nalaar?

I feel Mama&Papa would be great against CoCo since you can instantly shock off their combo pieces if needed.

Also great chump blockers against DS, answer to lingering souls and multiple bodies for control matches.

I dislike Grim Lavamancer since it relies so much on GY and is a nonbo with Tarmo and Ooze. Olivia is otherwise fantastic, but she is only one body.

Just look at the current Tier 1 decks. How many bad matchups there are out of those eight decks?

    One: Eldrazi Tron.

The rest can be easily taken down with Jund, so in my opinion Jund is now "under the radar" as they say.

So, they are nowadays using mainphasemtg tier system, instead of their own(?).

Anyways, those tier systems are based on deck popularity and tournament success. Naturally, if majority of Jund midrange players are playing DS Jund nowadays, Jund midrange's popularity and success will go down. So, dropping to "developing competitive" does not necessarily mean that the deck is not competetive, it is just not played us much.

Grixis Death's Shadow deck fills the GY so ridiculously fast that I dare to say that it could be a viable deck even without the Death's Shadow. Smile

Grixis player dropping a turn 2 Gurmag Angler makes me wanna cry with Fatal Push or Lightning bolt in hand.

There are many top tier decks currently where the Leyline of the Void damages the game plan a lot: Grixis DS, Dredge, Living End, Storm. Maybe also the Traverse builds?

I will also try next event with 3-4 Leylines in the sideboard.

EDIT: Just got a turn 0 scoop from Grixis DS opponent after putting Leyline of the Void onto table in G2.

How do we sideboard against Grixis Delver? I kinda felt that I wanted to leave discard in to steal their counters/snapcasters/kommands, but did not really feel like siding any creature removal or threats out because they can build quite a pressure with delvers, young pyros and tasigur.

Are we not worried about swarm decks anymore, because many seem to be cutting board sweepers totally? Lavamancer and Olivia are enough to keep those in check?

There was a pretty nice Jund list placed 30th at the GP Copenhagen: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/658251#paper

With just 2 fulminators in the side it is a soft list against big mana decks, but they are next to unwinnable anyways so...

After watching Reid Duke playing against the Amulet Titan list, I think I am going to replace fulminators with blood moons again in the side. I feel that Blood Moon can stall the big mana decks so much more.

you can watch them on the scg channel archive at twitch

You sir, are a wonderful human being.

SCG streams will end up to youtube also eventually: https://www.youtube.com/user/starcitygamesvideo

They will be nicely splitted by each round, so you don't have to skim through all the DS matches.. Wink

The Jund Master's latest list. Nice to see Reid pilot Jund again.

Yes indeed! Lets hope he recorded his tournament, would be interesting to hear about some card choises.

Why 2 x Chandra, when based on his sideboard he was expecting lots of affinity?
Why 2 x Leyline of the Void? Against what matchup are you willing to mulligan hard to find one of those anyways?
Zero board sweepers feels also risky to me, but I guess he was planning to stop Collected Company with Cages.

Does anyone have experience with Thundermaw Hellkite? I noticed some recent Jund lists where kite was in the sideboards.

I got so excited with the hasty Hazoret the Fervent that I started to think about this haste dragon. My meta sees a fair amount of flying souls and faeries, not to mention some awkward planeswalker decks. This would be a nice answer to all of those, not to mention it is 5/5 evasive creature anyways.

Took the list above to an disappointing result of 2-2.
R1: 2-1 against hardened scales walking ballista combo
R2: 2-1 against UR gifts storm
R3: 0-2 against BANT CoCo (2 Bobs on table drew only lands, not the DAMNations or any other removal for that matter!)
R4: 0-2 against random GW hatebear eldrazi planeswalker deck (Planeswalkers + Sicarda are baaad for jund!)

10 discard + surgical snatching empty the warrens made UR storm feel like a BYE. R1 I sided all discard out and R3&R4 I only kept thoughtseizes in.

Only drew Hazoret once during the whole evening, against the hardened scales deck and she won the game (sided her out against storm). I have to say that she can be a HUGE nonbo if you have an active Bob on the table. I kept drawing several lands in a row so it was hard to get her active. Opponent was pinging me with small creatures so I wanted to keep Hazoret in my hand so that I could drop her as a surprise haste swing for 5 dmg. When I finally got down to one card in hand, I managed to swing for 5. Next turn I drew Damnation and wiped away all but Hazoret and Finks and I swinged in for lethal.

When thinking this play afterwards, it prolly would have been correct play to just play her out even without her being able to attack/block and then just dump the excess cards next turn with her ability.

I can feel that Hazoret has potential. I prolly would have played some other 4 drop (Kalitas, Huntmaster) earlier in the above scenario. Kalitas generating tokens from Damnation would have also won the game for me I think. On R4 I was thinking that topdecked Hazoret + Ravine would have won me the race against lonely Sicarda, but of course I was only drawing lands..

Haste and indestructibility give a huge edge against the other 4 drops we usually run. Jund likes to be at the topdeck war anyways, so in general it shouldn't be a problem to get Hazoret hasted out.

Fatal Push took out some big creatures during R1, where bolt wouldn't have been able to do it. BANT CoCo player had Mirran Crusader, so here the bolt would have been good.

Played this kind of list at local 4 round event. No delve cards because I just like Dark Confidant so much and he actually was the MVP today!

    Round 1: Burn (0-2)
G1: No idea what he was playing, but he was also surprised when I pitched Serum Visions to Disrupting Shoal and countered his T1 Swiftspear. After that I was just struggling to stabilize and managed to live several turns with the help of counterspells and Snapcaster flashing back GFTT. Eventually he just gets there.
Sideboarding: OUT: 4 Thoughtseize, 2 Dark Confidant. IN: 2 Dragon's Claw, 2 Spellskite, 2 Negate.
G2: I keep hand with some lands, Serum Visions, Spellskite and Dragon's Claw. Play out Claw and Spellskite. Claw gains me some life but I am behind all the time and he is beating me with Guide and Swiftspears. I get out goyf at 4 life but he can't help me much at that point.

Got really stomped here. Dragon's Claws felt pretty crap. I figured that I probably need to get Kitchen Finkses to side..

Round 2: BYE (whee some points!)

Round 3: Time Warp combo (2-0)
G1: I know what he is up to and I keep a solid hand with Dark Confidant, counterspells and some discard. I make him discard Remand T1, leaving him some lands and couple of expensive cards which would grant him extra turns. T2 Confidant following Tarmogoyf couple turns later gets me there. Confidant was a real boss here, drawing me so much gas.
Sideboarding: OUT: 2 Go for the Throat. IN: 2 Negate
G2: T1 Delver, does not flip T2. T2 Serum Visions shows two creatures on top of deck, I bottom both since I have Tarmogoyf and Snapcaster in hand already. T3 Delver flips finally and starts eating face. I Abrupt Decay two Dictate of Kruphixes which he plays at my end steps. I drop Tarmogoyf and sit with Mana Leak in my hand. He is not able to go off.

    Round 4: Infect (2-0)
G1: Opponent mulligans to 5. I know what he is up to and I keep a solid hand with T1 Thoughtseize (taking his Spellskite) into T2 Tarmogoyf. Playing 4/5 creature on T2 feels quite overpowered and my opponent agrees. He is also surprised when I counter his Rancor with Disrupting Shoal after he saw me tapping out. I keep him out of threats with Abrupt Decay and Vapor Snag. I make a huge punt and kill his Blighted Agent with Abrupt Decay even I had Go for the Throat in my hand and I knew he had Ichorclaw Myr in his hand. Luckily this punt does not cost me the game and Tarmogoyf does what Tarmogoyf does.
Sideboarding: OUT: 2 Go for the Throat, 2 Deprive. IN: 1 Darkblast, 1 Dismember, 2 Spellskite
G2: Opponent mulligans to 6. He starts with fetch, pass. I start with Thoughtseize and take his only creature. I follow up with Dark Confidant who starts building me the card advantage. I land out Spellskite and slowly eat his life total with Dark Confidant, while he also eats my life total. He gets the Inkmoth Nexus on the table but my Spellskite prevents him from doing anything crazy with it. Eventually I land Tarmogoyf and also draw the Darkblast and harass the Nexus with it, forcing him to burn his boost spells at his end step. GGs.

This deck felt super fun! I have also played with the Adam Fronsee's Sultai Delve(r) list and did not really like it.

I am currently planning to add Inquisitions of Kozileks to main. Maybe 3 IoK + 3 Thoughtseize?
Kitchen Finkses are going to replace Dragon's Claws at sideboard. Sideboard is a bit mess still, but I knew that I could see tron, boggles and infect at the event.

Any other suggestions that could be tried out?
