They both look really good, though I wish that the Shivan Dragon was done at a higher "resolution". Would have been easier to make out. Very nice work, yakusoku, and great idea for leftover draft cards!
Well, here it is. Inspired by a song I heard in Guitar Hero 3, I got this idea and couldn't pass on it. Thanks to the Blue Oyster Cult for recording that song (of course, I adjusted the name to make it more correct).
Sorry about to size, but it's easier to see the details this way
I don't mind the art on it, it looks like it's the same character set in a non-metallic world. But the scan does look a little off as well. Hopefully it does look better as a physical card, but still a nice complement. I've got a 5th Dawn foil, and one of these would go nicely with it (I'm not greedy, nor do I have the skills to win a playset of 'em)
I think I'd prefer the bi-monthly events. Sometimes it takes a while for creativity to spawn in my mind, and having a two month timeframe to do some of these gives me time to find what I need and get things drawn onto them. (This sounds like fun, I've seen a friend's Myr Enforcer trying to be a Platinum Angel once. It had majesty and everything)
Also, going to try to enter this one, was totally inspired for one concept recently by a video game of all things.
Yes, yes they do. I'm particularly excited about Oona's Blackguard. My opponent is drawing cards, granted, but the sheer pressure from damage should be more worrisome. But Oona's Prowler will likely get nerfed because of it.
I'm also thinking about the threats of Korlash, 'Goyf, and other overpopulating creatures in the environment.
Also, I'm on a mission to try and make slivers into playable threat in T.2, as opposed to what seems to be a one-hit-wonder with Sliver-geddon in the list Coiled Flame posted. (That's just my name for the deck, and I've only ever heard of it that one time.)
This just occured to me: what about replacing a couple basic lands for the in-colour storage lands? maybe smooth the mana-base a little bit? And your board looks like you can switch black out of your deck anytime, which brings the question of it even being maindeck. Have you found it working for you, or a little unwieldly?
Edit: corrected some grammar that made things wierd to read, wrote this post late at night ^_^'
The big question that comes to my mind is how you plan to deal with any eventual changelings that might hit the board (or planeswalkers, for that matter).
You've got the white, so possibly Oblivion Ring in the sideboard, or Temporal Isolation for creatures since you don't run Shadow Sliver. Or maybe work blue in there somewhere (for the full 5-color special) to run Psionic Sliver, combo-tastic with lymph and pumping slivers.
I'm actually tempted to make this myself for T.2 nights @ FNM, see how it runs.
So this is my first attempt at a card design. It was inspired by art done by a friend of mine, and she OK'd the image to be used for this, too which was super-cool of her. Anyhow:
Nekoia, the Midnight Charm
3UR
Legendary Creature - Human Ninja (Rare)
Ninjutsu 1(U/R)(U/R)
When Nekoia, the Midnight Charm deals combat damage to an opponent, gain control of target creature that player controls until the end of your next turn.
3/3
Constructive criticism much appreciated, comments welcome. And let me know if I'm posting hybrid mana correctly. I think I am, but it was difficult to understand that part.
I actually joined a few months back, but forgot about my account over the spring and summer . . . . this is me finally introducing myself
Which isn't much right now, but maybe more info will be shared later.
*ed*
It's later, and I've got a bit of backgrounder:
I've been playing since 8th/Mirrodin, and started to attend regulat tourneys and whatnot the summer before Ravnica was released. Made some new friends, started getting out to area GPs and PTQs, as well as prereleases, and am having a lot of fun with the game.
My mind tends to work on "bad"/"clunky" combos that are just fun to pull off, but I've surprised some of the better local players with an insightful strategy every now and again. . .
Notably, Geordie Tait once looked over my hand and board position. After the game he made a suggestion about why I didn't do something, and I countered with a point he had actually overlooked. He raised his eyebrows and said "Oh. I missed that one," slapped me a congrats on the shoulder and moved on his merry way.
. . . and that's my notable brush with a Pro Tour caliber player. Yes, granted he has single-digit pro points countable on one hand, but it still counts.
