I like Defense Grid more for a SB answer to blue counterspell decks. It's done work in my KCI deck. It screws up their setups a lot.

I don't know; I'm not that scared of BBE. We still can control the top of their library so the chance of it lucking them into a KCommand isn't high unless they side out all of their <3 CMC spells. Also, thoughtseize that shiet. I am probably going to swap an Opal for or a Jar tho.

As a G/x Tron player, I have no idea why I should care about decks durdling with Field of Ruin and JTMS. Sure, if they curve directly into that and a couple of negates/ceremonious rejections I'm going to have a hard time, but most of the time what I'm doing is just way more powerful than what they're doing. And Pithing Needle cleanly and efficiently answers just about everything they're trying to do. I'm honestly looking forward to a meta with Jace and BBE in it, except to face all the combo decks that will appear to wreck them. :p

Any suggestions for a good deck that goes underneath? Preferably a synergistic one.

I'd say 5c humans fits that bill nicely.

LSV says that Tron is going to be in a bad spot thanks to JTMS due to all the aggressive linear strategies that will appear to combat Jace....

And yet, Urza's lands are exactly where I want to be against a deck trying to play Jace unless I'm empty handed and playing to the top of my deck. Also, where I want to be against Jund, BBE or no. Seems like Tron is a no-brainer in this meta. I'll probably play Lantern anyway. :p

Tezz is better than Jace...in Lantern Control. In every other context imaginable (except other weird artifact control decks) Jace is much better.

I look forward to seeing more Lantern mirrors at GPs.

Seriously though, what is a Lantern mirror like? Do you try to mill the other guy out as fast as possible?

Whomever gets one kind of mill rock then pithing/mills the opponent off the other kind wins. Post-board a Leyline + pyxis/bell wins. Smile

Wiping tron off the face of the earth?

I can think of worse things. :p

I was going to challenge your earlier notion about banning Stirrings not killing Tron but I see how pointless that would be.

I was kind of confused my the PT sideboard... so many 1 ofs. going to have to figure that out.

I don't personally agree with only 2 leylines of sanctity SB, you really don't want to be hardcasting that spell against burn or discard. If you're running any of them 3 or 4 is where I'd be.

Also, Torpor Orb is suspiciously missing. It owns snapcasters and bedlam revelers which offer a way out of the lock and basically the entire humans deck as well as random cards from Elves, Living End, etc.

So anyone still convinced that the Whir list isn't better than the Golgari List?

I know, I loved his motions, moving cards straight from the library to the battlefield. I'm going to try to change my game a lot based on that.

It would kill G/x Tron, make no mistake.

d'oh! I swear if they ban stirrings I'm done with Modern.

V, I get it, and I'll probably just take my Opals and Glimmervoids and play Affinity. :p

I'm excited to hear a bunch of people cry that Lantern's going to take over and needs something banned and then <crickets>.

Not to mention any deck playing maindeck pithing needles has its difficulty rating kicked up a notch just by virtue of that decision-tree.

For a little clarification for the OP, triggered abilities which would trigger simultaneously are placed on the stack in APNAP order. Meaning all triggers the active player controls goes on first (in whatever order they desire) and then it goes around the table and each other player does the same. As a result they resolve in opposite order, as WizardMN states: NAP, then AP. See 603.3b.
