Tin foil hat time...
What's the oldest card in BBD's siege rhino/avacyn abzan deck from over the weekend?
Could he have an inside scoop that led him to test that list, and then he ended up running with it?
Tarmogoyf and a Worship in the sideboard. Looking at his list, its a normal Abzan list, no weird lands or anything, just has two Avacyns in it as a value curve topper.
Cannot wait to draft this set. 50 a draft or no, this ***** will be awesome. I wanna draft the reanimator deck just once in my life. Or the storm deck that has to be incoming.
Next set Liliana of the Veil and Jace the Mind Sculptor will be our two walkers. Trolololol
But in all seriousness, it's kind of a toss up between tamiyo and tibalt as possible second walkers. Liliana is a shoe in.
Sure. One is an obscure walker who nobody liked, with no role in current storyline. The other used to be an obscure walker from the same set, but is in the current storyline, referenced and depicted on cards, even having its own stories.
Total toss-up, yeah.
Nobody liked Tibalt? The fact that everyone loves him and wants a better card for him is the only reason he'd be in this block.
Reprinted:
Deathrite Shaman
Jace, the Mind Sculptor
Reanimate
Tendrils of Agony
Natural Order
Not reprinted:
Scalding Tarn(and friends, I'm very firm on this one)
Liliana of the Veil(holding out for a standard reprint)
Aether Vial
Tarmogoyf
Grove of the Burnwillows
I don't think anyone here thinks the rl is just gonna go poof bye bye. But I've been saying since eternal masters was spoiled as a real set, I think we could see a move away from the reserved list, if not an abolishment entirely within the next few years.
A lot of this thread is very on point - her price tag is ludicrous.
I own 6 kalitases for a reason,
What would be your most logical course of action here, then?
I don't think you understand - three in my standard deck, three in my modern deck. They aren't just laying around waiting to be traded for an overpriced Liliana.
A lot of this thread is very on point - her price tag is ludicrous(don't even ask me what I think about tarmogoyf, that 150 dollar trash is keeping me from playing my other wedge color in modern), but she is reprintable into a standard set. Very much so this set. I honestly think that reprinting her would drop her price not too much but *enough*, and I use that word loosely, and I do not think she would have significant impact on standard other than maybe making a B/x deck be not awful. Because as it stands our top tier standard decks are gw tokens, bant company, ur goggles.. and basically anything avacyn.dec.
I just really want black to get some love. I own 6 kalitases for a reason, I picked him up when everyone thought he was bad(14 or so each non foil and my foil for about 24) and immediately put him in my modern grixis control deck. But yeah. Maybe I'm biased because I play mono black in standard.
My first edh deck was the precon Freyalise deck, and I very quickly turned it into tribal elves, which became combo elves, and switched my commander to Yisan, as he is, in fact, busted as all hell with elves. Concordant Crossroads with Quirion Ranger and Wirewood Symbiote makes it very easy to just assemble a game-winning lethal amount of damage on turn 4-5.
Glad I don't play French though.
Dread Return makes Dredge possible in Modern, and nobody wants that(except me, I wouldn't mind an unban) I just don't see it happening sadly.
I'd love to play my legacy deck in modern though. Literally the only legacy cards in the deck are Dread Return, breakthrough, putrid and tireless(the 1 cmc discard outlets, rip), and Undiscovered Paradise. And of course, ichorid... but hey, bloodghast is pretty good too. Point being, I get why dread return is banned, but I hate it.
I would like to see something like:
Banned: No changes.
Unbanned: Stoneforge Mystic, Bloodbraid Elf, Ancestral Vision.
Let us play the eldrazi's game.
Another thing I wouldn't mind-
Banned: Eye of Ugin
Unbanned: Stoneforge Mystic/Jace, the Wallet Sculptor/Dig Through Time/Ancestral Vision/Bloodbraid Elf/Deathrite Shaman.
One of those things. Not all.
Yeah I dunno where you guys complaining about green ramp have been but GR eldrazi has been a deck for a while now, and they're not even losing anything post rotation since there will still be a 2 drop 2/1 green mana dork.
