Post-PT seeing all the comments on this and lili is pretty hilarious. I got 2 of my lilis for 20 cash and the other two out of packs. I been building gb delirium since I saw emn spoiled and I love the deck. Liliana and grim flayer are amazing cards.
It actually makes a lot of sense. As we've been tipped off to before, the titans aren't actively malevolent, just kind of accidentally kill and consume while carrying out their instinctual functions
So a buddy jammed a couple in his modern Jund deck and it plays very well. Pretty much Jund grinds you into a top decking war and with this guy on the field he just wins. It made his goyfs bigger, it made his Bob's hit exactly what he wanted, and its trample was relevant because I couldn't toss snappys or cliques in front of it. It's out of bolt range fairly fast and dealing 4 damage a swing is tough. I'm going to go ahead and say this card is made for Jund.
Out of sheer curiosity, can you get your buddy's list for us? How many flayers is he running? What did he cut for them? Jund just seems like such a tight squeeze, I would think a straight BG deck would be the answer. But of course, I play Grixis, so I'm not very well versed on the various BGx decks in modern.
Tezzeret is the same type of white the Elesh Norn is. Ideal white. Not goody two shoes Gideon white, but "I have these ideals, and I will accomplish them" white. The black and blue help him to accomplish these ideals.
Some of our local people have found one stray mythic in a couple boxes, but the rest holds true. Already posting this all over Facebook so people know.
Gonna agree with Michael majors on this one and say Emerge is probably a mistake, much like Delve. Cost reduction things lately seem to be really abusable. This isn't even the strongest emerge creature, and it's still very good.
Don't think grixis delver wants this, not as good as tasigur or angler in my experience, and RR is a serious cost compared to B and stuff in the yard. Having to fetch out Blood Crypt turn tw or three rather than a basic to cast this guy is arguably the thing that hurts its viability in grixis delver most. That said, it's possible that control wants this over tasigur? I've not tested much in Grixis Control.
Dude is a champ in straight UR delver though. Stick him in as a three of. He does a really good tasigur impression for that deck.
Anyone miss the fact that you can use this dude to cheat out a 10 cmc creature with eldritch evolution?
You'd have to get really lucky, as you discard your hand when he hits the battlefield.
Unless you're hellbent. Point is, if he sits there for a minute it's an undercosted creature with 8 CMC. And if you discard your evolution or whatever, you can e witness it back or whatever
