Even just look at Provoke. As someone one who played limited Legions It gave the player who got to attack first with their Provoke creatureso much power limited was all about the mitigatong or getting Provoke as quickly as possible. This actually makes going first even more powerful than it already is (depending on the format going first actually give over a 10% increase to win percentage) so if this was implomented the entire game structure would need to change to accommodate that the player going furst is significantly more likely to win.

Red does have answers to enchsntments thst orevent dame with damage effects that can't be prevent. Effects that make damage non precentable and even prevent life gain, also kost of those prevent enchantments are older and require mana investments so red had very aggresdove land destruction so a player could not pay for these effects.

Creatures able to attack other creatures directly, makes First Strike, Haste and Protection from even more powerful and allow these abilites to snowball wven more. In addition direct damage spells even become more powerful allowing you to interact with attackers and blockers while still having the versatility of being able to target players and planeswalkers.
Also desthtouch becomes completely overpowered on 1 mana creatures.

I have in the past for Pack Rat made a bunch of obvious photo copies and then put them in other color sleves like proxies.

  • posted a message on So how much money have you spent on Magic?
Since Beta, Unlimited, Arabian Nights, I had a $200 a month budget for magic, from Antiquities, Revised, Legends, Dark it was about $600 a month, then ftom Fallen Empiree, Chronicals, 4th Edition. Ice Age it was back to $400 a month. Then from Alliances to Weatherlight, it was $600a month again. Then I went to college so my allowances from my trust fund dropped so for the next 4 years it was only $200 a month.
Then after college it was $800 a month until current. So all in all i have probably put 3 to 5 million into this game.

Land Equilibrium, Zur's Weirding,Solfatara,Divine Intervention,Pack Rat. All these cards are very unique, in effect or in the impact they can have on a game.

Does this have a spot in Nexus reclamation? It could make that deck even more constant with the addes effect of being a win condition.

From Nissa's trial, it seemed to indicate that the Amonkhet gods were multiple leylines of mana wrapped together. That Bolas was able to reprogram them messing with how they are entangled. If they are concentrated mana from one plane, how are they able to leave that plane?

Well some of the sagas are pushed or nearly pushed, therefore proliferate might be enough to push them over that edge to overpower. A red deck being able to power out flames of keld could conceivably be a mistake, being able to add more than 4 counters to runaway steankin could produce unintended consequences. Mentor was not pushed to be tier 1 constructed but proliferate could tip the balance there. The flip artifacts like treaure map are in a similar place. All I am saying is that the play design team has limited time to test all these interactions its possible for one to slip through the cracks, even just speeding up The Mirari Conjecture could be significant.

Proliferate has very interesting interactions with sagas. Such as activating my oppoants 3rd chapter of History of Benalia during my second main phase, activating chapter 3 on flames of keld right after I draw cards from my 2nd chapter. I think there will be many more feel bads for new players when an oppoanat moves their Sagas up, New players do not like an opponant making choices for them. There is the wonders of proliferate with all the planeswalkers but I worry about unexpected interactions with saga's as they were not nade expecting someone to trigger multiple chapters in one turn. Also interactions with the adapt crestures that have triggers when counters are added all fain from this. Does anyone else have concerns that play develppment not give complete testing all the sagas, adapt triggers, and other counter related cards like Simic Ascendency, which could lead to a possible break for standard?

To properly cost pre-mending planeswalkers they would need to start at 7 or 8 mana.

  • posted a message on Why does each expansion just release the same exact card type over and over?
The game will survive another 20 years because they are very conservative in the game design. They learned early around 2000 that more complexity will kill the game. Established players loved Odyssey and Time Sprial blocks, and overall tournament attendance was through the roof but sales were the lowest at those times. Basically complexity leaves the vast casual player out who spend loads of money in aggregate to sustain and grow this game.

This guy is going to make Nexus decks awesome, they can actually kill you with their army of flyers and not have to deck you out.

Another great way to make Nexus decks even more constant.

    Addendum spells should be like:
    Azorius counter 1WU instsnt
Counter target spell with casting cost 3 or less
Addendum-if you cast this spell during your mainphase instead tap up to 3 creatures they do not untap during their controllers next untap phase.

This would mean the spell is effectively modal. But we have only seen riders (to borrow a political term) instead. This will be a hard ability to make successful, if the base spell us too good then it will be used as an instant, if the addendum rider/replacement is too good it will regale the spell to sorcery. There needs to be a really strong tension between wanting either the spell at instant speed or the addendum?
