The End of an Era

The other two main issue with any if this is that it would greatly increase board complexity something that all R&D, Creative, and Vision design are 100% completely in agreement of removing from the fame as completely as possible. The second is that this would make games take even longer, for example the introduction of food to Standard has extended average game times by 5 to 10 minutes each. Thiscextra time has actually driven more people away from playing, having to run "creatures " into eachother instead of just killing the opponant is a slower game. I see wantung these slogg fest games but what keeps control, burn, combo, ftom just winming along another axis while you durdle with creatures that their decks do not even care about? Or are you saying redesign the game with no bostd wipes, creature bound or control, burn. Discard, counters and other effects just so those new creatures can joust with eachother?

  • posted a message on Why do Magic player's defend the color pie so much?
One of the reasons the early color pie is akward was that Richard Garfield gaveceach color thectools of its enemies to use against them, like Black getting Gloom, Blue getting Volcanic Eruption etc. The Elemental Blasts were the most egregious where it took eachothers strengths and weaknesses and made 2 cards that optimized both.

You can choose what order to pay costs in, so if you pay the sacrifice cost before the mana cost, you are no longer able to pay for mana wise.

If I have Faeburrow Elder and any Red creature but no untaped Red source and I begin to cast Heartfire and sacrifice the Red creature before tapping the elder for mana will the game back up?

Really old, not dieing until the end of a Phase/Step with Mirror Universe being amazing, but making Channeleven more broken. And we had one player who could boomerage throw a chaos orb and sweep nearly half the table, before the rules were set. And to troll new players one guy would use Jester's Cap and put all kands in one pile then really *****ty shuffle so all lands were clumped, would do the same with Jester's Mask but also wreck their hand too.

  • posted a message on Throne of Eldraine limited is interesting with multiple copies of rares
So far I have played about 40 Eldraine sealed on Arena, and the games are wild. I have lost to opponants with triple Oko, Theif of Crowns, triple Brazen Borrower,
triple Stolen by the Fae(that one had 5 Mystic Sanctuarys to really make it fun) others with 6 Trapped In a Tower, 6 Charmed Sleep, 6 Joust. Generally most decks seem fast but fairly balanced its the outlier with 4+ of one removal or bomb card that is just dominating. Also just having 5 or more of one card can be devastating, I had 6 Seven Dwarves and just crushed my opponants the games I drew 4 or more. Also I had 6 Merfolk Secretkeeper and 4 Run Away Together a Folio of Fancies in my pool. Its almost like they collated these cards together for sealed purposes. Has anyone else gotten weird sealed pulls like this or been on the receiving end of something like this?

  • posted a message on The True Solution To The Flawed Mana System
Just play a deck of 4 the rack all of the 1 to 3 mana effects in the game like it a few sinkholes/ smallpox effects and 1 mana hand destruction and go to town... just kidding. There would need to be a banned list of over 1000 cards for this to work so spikes don't just break the game. You would need to ban any land with an effect other that genersting mana, and all lands that could produce more than 1 mana, all cantrips with cost of 2 or less, all discard with cost 2 or less any planeswalker less than 4 mana...the player to get their Wrenn and Six or Liliana of the Veil first would just wreck house. Lets see this format would need to ban any aggressive ramp or draw effects, and any etra tuurn card....since with an opening hand of 1 would actually magnify their power.

Also stsrting out with so few spell resourcesmeans that card draw(blue) becomes super powerful or going first and thoughsiezing your oppoant effectivly mind twists your opponant.... the player to draw a divination effect first or strips the oppants resources first will have an advatage. This also exacerbates the advantage of the player going first significantly. Also this system realy rewatds player to not play any spell over 3/4 mana....the games where your opening hand is a 4 drop means you lose. Also any lands that tap for more than 1 mana, draws a card, become even more broken.

  • posted a message on [ELD] What's with all the creature creep?
Its a way they get people to buy new stes when previous sers are overpowered....look at Ixalan block 6 lands, 3 enchantments, 4 or 5 creature...thats allbrhat was played in standard ... Amonkhet was a powerful set do out shined it then Dominarua threw to spark again swung the oendulum really far into powerful Standard, ots time to power down, but the only way to set a lower powered set us to concentrate all the power in 10 to 15 cards which become must haves in standard.

Heck a single Gideon's Sacrifice and a indestructible creature completely invalidates this whole system.

This also really makes control decks and turbo fog decks ridiculously over powered, using mass removal, giving a creature indestrucable or Protection often used in these types oc decks are trump or recycling fog effects to basically turn off your attacking removal effects. In fact nearly 90% of White, Blue and Greens color pie either breaks or becomes completely game dominating

Awesone, something Karn the Great Creator, can screw over in stsndard. So Karn, Teferi, Narset, Tibalt together to create the anti thrones deck.

Cards like Moat, camouflage, reverance, brainwash, false orders, raging river basically anything that alters combat in any way harm this system. heck even just protection mskes this system a mess. Basically mother of runes is the best creature for combat ever. There would need to be a banning of thousands of cards due to the unintended consequences of this system.

I had a flying Ilharg, the Raze Boar in play, my oppoant had a Moat. When I attacked I put a Ball Lightning into play attacking them, i said the Boar let me do this but they said that it wasnt allowed.

  • posted a message on London Mulligan effect on win percentage
I so far have a over 2000 game sample size from Limited, Standard and Modern. Before the London mulligan depending on matchups, formats and play skill going first ranged from less than 5% increat in win percentages to over 10%; since the onclusion of the London mulligan this number has shot up and nearly doubled. Now my sample sizes are small and diverse, I hope others can review a larger sample set from mine to refute this but it seems both anecdotally and statistically to have drastically increased win percentages for going first.
