Yes, because it is entering the battlefield AS a copy.

    Hey guys,

Twin refugee here who happens to have all the cards to build the mono-blue version of this deck. Is it that much worse than the blue splash white version? How do you think we match up against the metagame now that Twin is gone? I feel like we can't beat Tron or Eldrazi, not to mention Ad Nauseum.

Hopefully I'll be joining the community soon, take care guys.

    Nezzy

Also, you seem to be assuming the UW version is stronger than mono-U. You should check the past few pages. So far, mono-U is superior.

There's a good chance Jori En will get a mat from Ultra-Pro I think.

If we run only two pieces of disruption mainboard, is Spell Pierce the optimal choice over something like Vapor Snag?

I play Merfolk in my R deckbox. People who know me don't fall for it, but it throws off the newer faces expecting burn and keeping hands based on that fact.

My playmat that I haven't used in a while is The Great Wave off Kanagawa: http://usercontent2.hubimg.com/5540251_f520.jpg
I use it once in a while, but not with Merfolk.

If someone is worried about their playmat giving away what they are playing, that is probably the best one for us to use and still be on theme. Widely known so not something that places you on a deck.

I see...well..cavern should not be an issue...only mutavault is really locking us...(perhaps tec.edge)

I think I will give it a try...a couple of copied...just to test consistency...

Just to be clear, Cavern of Souls does NOT work with Mystic Gate...

I'm sure someone has probably mentioned this, but, has anyone noticed how on certain printings of Lord of Atlantis is says "All Merfolk" and on others it says "Other Merfolk"??? This is a pretty big difference. Can anyone help me out with this? I know my 7th edition Lord of Atlantis' use the word "All" which would make him a 3/3, correct?

The reason why older printings of Lord of Atlantis have "All Merfolk" instead of "Other Merfolk" is because they were not Merfolk themselves. If you look at the creature type, it's Lord. However, all copies (regardless of the text written on the physical card) of Lord of Atlantis use the Oracle text rules as specified by Wizards of the Coast. Try the Gatherer search engine online if you're unsure of how any given card plays.

Which is why we need a LoA reprint.

I actually started with the UW build myself, albeit a suboptimal version

Its way too early to think UW wil become the norm or the optimal build.

Maybe we move Spell Pierce to the side? 3 Vapor Snags/Dismembers main?

Extension is fine, you just don't want to OVER extend. Just enough to make your opponent use the explosives, but still have enough in waiting for after the boom.

I stand with those that say we should wait and see how the meta shakes down before making any changes that are TOO drastic, but if MoW is what ends up on the chopping block, I would probably replace how ever many copies with Phantasmal Image so that we still have effectively 4 MoWs.

If we do bring Image in, would it take the spot of Harbinger? Or Reejerey?

It's not just the evasion. While that helps, we have no way of blocking fliers. An innocuous 1/1 for 1 with flying would greatly help.

Off topic, I just found out there is a printing of Lord of Atlantis in Korean... and I suddenly have a new goal for my deck... :/ R.I.P. wallet...
