    Ok. GP Charlotte is a month away, and I am trying to finalize my list (barring any major meta shifts). Here is how it looks currently




    A few notes:
    • Thinking of maybe putting Echoing Truth main instead of Vapor Snag - Less conflict with Chalice and better utility.
    • Maybe another Kira in the board
    • Redirect in the SB - it's a pet card. I want to run at least one. Might come out, might not.
    • I really like the idea of a Sea Gate Wreckage in the side for when I board out Vials. May be the reason I don't run Redirect.
    • 3 or 4 Hurkyll's? Tidebinders?

    Also, based on this list, how would you side against Grixis control?

    Anyway, like Rothgar, I am currently putting together the pieces for the legacy build of this deck to have both it and the legacy versions on hand whenever the opportunity to play it comes up (like at random GPs I travel to) and I think I am about... 75% there?

    I'm only short a True-Name... some Wastelands... a Cavern or two... V-Cliques... Sideboard tech... ok... maybe like 50%.

    Anyway, after reading the last few pages (posts starting in 2016), I do have a question: as a budget constraint, if I am doing random 8-mans at GPs and stuff, is there an alternative to Wasteland's? Ghost Quarter? I know it is beyond suboptimal, but after seeing all the talk about land decks and such, I feel I need something besides the Back to Basics I'll have.

    Would Echoing Truth be something to consider for this match up? "Counter" their Supreme Verdict by Truth'ing your creatures to just Vial them back in?

    I use these guys from the .hack//ENEMY card game as tokens. They match my play mat and deck box, which are both .hack// themed.

    And even if it does, I think we revert back to the creature heavy build that Nikachu was using before the Protour fairly easily.

    A) It'll be one or the other. Not both.

    B) He's saying that they currently do NOT plan on banning anything until the next B&R update... which is not until SOI releases.

    Has anyone tried Redirect? With all the dismember running around it could be good as the "counter-spell" of choice in this meta. Besides, it also helps against burn and throwing stuff at their creatures and face.


    Costs too much. Trust me, I am the biggest proponent of redirect effects you will ever find. Hell, after all the stupid things I've done with it, it will always be something I consider and maybe even board. But for a stock list, it's too reactive and doesnt answer as much as we need it to. UU is also very harsh for us sometimes.

    Hurkyl's also has play against other decks like 8-Rack and Lantern control though.

    Eldrazi getting hit would turn it from a (from the sound of it) winnable match-up to an even more favorable one without the need of dedicated SB slots.

    He was able to 2 for 1 them by hitting the temple (he had to sac quarter and destroy his own land, plus you cantrip). Typically you should try and hold the Seas effect for Eye or Temple. The one game I lost to Eldrazi last week was because I wasted a Spreading Seas on a dumb land.


    I understand that, but based on the board state, the Eldrazi player was free to remove Nikachu's Islandwalk any time he pleased.
