Mist-Cloaked Herald is nothing new, though we may be reaching a critical density of unblockable 1-drops.
The green ones are interesting. The 3-drop brings another body along, and while I like the idea of UG lowering it's cover to top out at 2, this definitely intrigues me.

I'm just not sure if these do enough. They are still just dudes and make our dudes bigger.

It does not. Animating Mutavault does not count as it entering the battlefield because it has to already be on the field for you to animate it.

The other big difference is that all our other lords, in addition to pump, gave evasion (Reejeray somewhat by giving the ability to tap blockers) where as the new UG one is just pump.

Im still excited for it, but it is admittedly kind of bland.

I also think a card not discussed enough as a sideboard option is heroic intervention...does a lot against control, and if we are going to a way faster UG lord build, getting wrathed is still a problem.

I think I've caught the Merfolk bug (especially since my dream of a Korean-language version is closer), and will prbably go UG since it's my favorite color combination, and I love the idea of having Heroic Intervention as an option makes me happy.

Is another Lord needed? And what do you cut for them? I'm excited for it too, but is it what the deck really needs?

My guess is because of the mana base. One of the strong points of mono-U is that you don't take damage fetching. So you either

    a) start at 17 life
    b) start a turn behind (fetch a tapped Breeding Pool to minimize damage)
    c) end a turn slow because you don't have the mana for the counterspells available.

I'm with Rothgar on the Islands... I just wish there were Korean versions. Noah Bradley's BFZ Islands are really nice as well, and the Unstable ones may be a replacement for me.

If you're going to force us to merge our accounts, can we at least get a one time chance to unify our usernames?

I've just granted you a nickname credit which you can use to change your MTGS Nickname. If you need to change your Twitch username, you'll have to go through Twitch to do that.

    Thank you! Greatly appreciated!

While the extra 1 mana hurts a lot, I like Spyglass for a set up for a following turn. When we don't draw it in the openning hand and have to play it later (or better scenario: when we draw a redundant copy), peeking the hand can tell us if it's clear to drop Master of Waves or our other Lords, or if there is a Push we need to try and bait out first. I think that might make it at least testable.

Am I the only one that things that if you are going to splash green (with Forests in the mana base), Selkie Hedge-Mage should be included? Or at least considered?

I know it wont be good and i am in the minority, but there is a good chance i will at least TRY UG since its my favorite color combination.

    Fully prepared for failure.

I've been playing UG lately for my fish and I think it'll suprise you. It's actually a pretty fun deck.

Im actually curious if by the end of the block we will have a UG merfolk deck whose core is more of a standalone deck as opposed to a merfolk deck; cousins as opposed to siblings if you will. But that's speculation we should keep off of the thread.

I agree so far nothing but Kopala has any chance of being moved into our decks as they stand now, and i am sort of leaning towards the train of thought that Kopala's synergy coupled with early game protection may win out ovrr Kira. I'd still want Kira in the side, but its so cramped...

Can attest that Mind's Dilation is absurd in this deck.

Some other things that made my version hum (which was a little more control-tempo with Planewalkers). Some of these will get in the way of Primal Surge though...
Noxious Revival/Reclaim (respond to Rashmi's trigger and put whatever you want back on top. Great for counterspells)
Mystic Tutor / Worldy Tutor (Since you are more creature-heavy than mine, definitely Worldy Tutor)
    Crystal Ball
