Hey everyone. This is the first Commander deck I’ve posted in years. Got talked into rejoining the fray when I moved and my new playgroup gets together a few times a week. Nothing in a tournament/serious setting, but their decks are all competitive and finely tuned (tier 1/2 I’m guessing). I intend on completing the rest of this “primer” when I have more time, but I mainly just need some advice in the interim. The deck tends to run out of steam. I would love to have a secondary/tertiary win-con and/or engine that would keep the deck running on a full tank of gas. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. No budgetary constraints.
To somewhat corroborate Ninja's assessment of Foundry Inspector, it does feel awfully bad (especially when it happens nearly every time) to drop an Inspector on turn 3 only to have it eat removal EOT. Seems like a Time Walk in your opponent's favor. Would much rather drop a non-creature artifact that reduces the cost of Colossus by more than 1 while also carrying other valuable implications. Just my .02.
That sounds pretty legit. I'm running the list in the post above yours and like the idea of having those outs to Dec in Stone. I'd support Negates in the board. Or Ceremonious Rejection.
I'm not convinced by the Painter's Servant side-by-side. They're taken from two completely different angles. I noticed with my Lotus Petals that the reflection of light from different angles produced the "double rainbow" effect, but not consistently.
I'm sure this has been asked/answered a million times, but I don't want to sift through 200+ pages to find the relevant discussion.
Are the black-bordered Exodus test print foils (i.e., Survival of the Fittest, City of Traitors) tournament legal? I've heard conflicting reports. I know that if they have a white back they aren't legal, but I'm not sure what type of back the black-bordered ones have (I'm pretty sure the silver-bordered ones aren't legal).
Yeah, it's almost a suicide type burn build, but the damage with Manabarbs and City of Brass does add up. In our play league, Fork is restricted, hence the lone copy. Detonate is a good idea. If I go that route, I can remove the black and remove the Cities.
In testing opposing creature-heavy aggro decks like zoo pose a problem, so I'm considering swapping out the Ball Lightning for Earthquake, or at least putting Earthquake in the board. Thoughts/ideas?
I do play on Xmage, if anyone is interested. Username GPash.
