Hey guys, I think i am going to jump off the Grixis wagon after this weekend and build the straight UR version since it seems overall stronger in open metas. Here is the 75 I plan on doing in paper (I won't be getting Tarns and Misties for a while, so breeding pool will be used in place of stomping grounds due to my fetches available.)

The version I use trades the fetch lands for scalding tarns and misties alongside the stomping ground, so lets just ignore that part of the deck for now, but is there any tips on the list I have here? Should I use 3 dispel and 1 snare, or the 2-2 split? Do you guys think the 1 roast MD 1 dismember SB sound good or should it be both roast instead of the dismember? Any tips appreciated!

Personally I don't like Peek. Nor maindeck Roast. I would run a third Pestermite and/or a second Clique instead.

I don't think we can do without Engineered Explosives in the sideboard. I would always run 2 of them. Cards you can do without include Negate, Dismember, Teferi and Grudge. I like Roast more than Dismember.

I also like Wurmcoil better than Pia and Kiran Nalaar.

I'm mainly a jund player and new to twin, but even I know half of your advice is terrible

I'm trying to pick up Twin as my secondary deck, I have Jund, but Twin is such a blast and has a chance against almost everything. Right now I'm on RUG Twin, and it's freaking hard. My friends were beating me down pretty bad, but I'm not too discouraged knowing how difficult the Twin archetype is. Jund is great, but it's pretty easy and streamlined, Twin is crazy hard to tempo, but I know it does it very well

Guess I'll have to grind it out the next couple of months. Kind of undecided if I should really try to get down UR Twin first, RUG, or switch between both and get the reps down

Hey guys, still newish to playing twin

    Couple of simple questions

Do you guys mainly play your twiddle creatures very defensively? Besides for obviously wanting to Tap a target creature, when you guys aggressively play an exceiver or pestermite with no twin, when do you guys chose to? What kind of situation? If you play it aggressively aren't you afraid they'll no you don't have the combo?

When you're holding onto snap and a bolt, should you really only hold it off if it's basically finishing an opponent off? Obviously you'll use it to get something like Goyf off the table, but if an opponent isn't doing too much, do you just bolt snap bolt, or really wait closer until they're to death? Should snap bolt really be held on as a defensive tool and only to finish your opponent off?

Basically I understand the control aspect? It's more of when to shift to an aggressive tempo route I'm curious about

So I just got the deck assembled today. I mainly play jund, which is way more streamlined and easier to play than this.

Definitely harder to play than ur twin, too. I can't expect to just play and own with the deck. My friends whooped my ass with their burn, token and affinity decks. I just wasn't playing the deck well or playing it with much knowledge.

Is there any good places to read and watch this deck being played? I really like when youtube vids of great players are on mtgo and they go through all their possible lines of play and what they're opponent is possibly thinking. Just looking to get a lot of knowledge on this deck

Hey,Eric, I really enjoyed your writeup. While noble isn't a good card to topdeck, a 3 of and seeing it in the first 3 turns is nice

I think I may try your deck out tonight, minus a few things and the sideboard.

Do you find yourself missing that 4th Lilianna? What about maelstrom pulse? 1 fulminator seems lackluster

I mainly play jund so I only have 1 Marsh flat, which I hate, so I'll have to go 4 windswept and 1 marsh flat, which can be major against burn and aggro

What typical sideboard card are you Guys taking out for pia? What is it sideboarded in against and what's typically taken out? Just wondering because I don't want too many 4 and 5 mana spells stuck in my hand, or having 2 or 3 4 mana spells.

So, I have a jund deck and play a little affinity on the side, but I'm really understanding the modern format a lot more now, and playing with my friends UR Twin deck, I was surprised how much better I found this deck understanding the meta and the format now

I wanted to ask you guys a few things

One, if you're trying to squeeze things in and you have to make a cut, is the 2nd copy of Spell snare the better option or is the 2nd copy of dispel the better option?

Is it generally advised to have 3 copies of dispel in the 75?

Do you guys feel Huntmaster is just too low impact and outshined by 2 Thragtusk in the sideboard?

Why Dismember over something else? Hasn't UR Twin gotten away without using it? Why is Tarmo Twin using it? 4 damage to myself sounds unappealing and not what I want to snap back. What else would replace this? A counter, a 2nd copy of Electrolyze, a 2nd roast?

The combo is more of a backup in general for Twin, but with that 4th copy cut in most lists, are you finding the combo much harder to dig for against those linear decks where you really need it, or is dropping Tarmogoyf and hopefully remanding and tapping down things usually enough against combo decks?

With Cryptic Command and all these 4 and 5 mana drops, are you guys finding your decks clunky. Is UR Twin the sleek, tempo plan and this is the more powerful but clunky version? Hopefully not, it's why I like Jund more than Junk

Hey guys, so I've lost to the same amulet player twice now. He's really good, and our games are determined by the dice roll

I wanted to know, going off a stocklist, how exactly should you board against them?

    I sideboarded out

    -2x galvanic blasts
    -2x thoughtcast
    -2x two etched champion

    For

    +2 blood moon
    +2 thoughtseize
    1+ spell pierce
    +1 wear/tear

I also wanted to ask, due to how extremely quick you have to race, what kind of hands do you keep and what kind don't you? I feel like I really need to see a plating and inkmoth or I'm done. Any tips? Should I sideboard all of etched champion?

I'm a huge fan of the 3 Champ/2 Etherium, sometimes I super need to face like no one's business.
worst comes to worse, they're sideboarded out for hate cards against very heavy removal decks games 2 and 3. Overseer is great, but some decks he's way too slow and you need to get yourself established. He's great game 1, but games 2 and 3 I feel I'm asking to be board wiped
Hangarback just feels so damn slow, I'd rather be putting down my 3 drops than building him up. I don't think Hangarback will be a true mainstay of the deck a year or two from now. "BUT HE HAS SO MUCH SYNERGY WITH RAVAGER, BRO!" ...So does the entire deck

I don't know, I'd rather board in those thoughtseizes and spell pierces to fight the hate

So, no advice for the sideboard matchup on Tron and Azorious?

Hey guys, I'm playing infect tonight, partially due to a lot of players at this particular lgs playing so much tron

I know it's very much in infects favor, but suppose I'm going off a fairly stock list except with 1 miser distortion strike and wild defiance, along with 3 mutagenic growth, what's the typical sideboard plan against rg tron?

I also know an azorious player is coming tonight too, you know, wall of omens, supreme verdict, using celestial Colonnade and ojutai as win cons, is this a grindy game or am I trying to go for the kill quick since they're so heavy on removal?

    Thanks

I don't know, man, Timely reinforcements is so beastly, and it makes zoo players sad. 3 tokens isn't nothing. Abzan and junk usually do a 4/2 split on IOK and seize, plus a 5th discard in the side quite often, you can see if they have the skullcrack more often than not, I'd risk it.

I'm not liking BGw as much as BGr, I just find Siege Rhino way too clunky too often. I really wonder if Siege Rhino should be cut down to a 2 of. Can't Kotr try filling a few spots?

I dislike that because of more 3 and 4 cmc cards, confidant isn't as good, and the mana base for BGw hurts so bad. Lingering souls is the real deal and the main reason to splash white; I wonder what creature or spell it will take to make white better than red.

Just wanted to ask you guys how 4c Zoo is. I mean, basically a stock zoo list except lightly splashing blue for Geist of Saint Traft, just because a turn 2 one can be so brutal I imagine

Played rg tron last night. You literally don't get to play magic if you don't have a god hand, or if their hand is really bad

It's depressing how bad this matchup is. I had two games of discard, land, goyf and scooze, a typically good hand against a lot of decks. Those hands led to me discarding 1 of 2 land searches while they had 2 opening lands in hand, and proceeded to auto win with karn and ugin. I scooped immediately both games, it's that bad of a matchup

Can't fight through ugin, and game 1 I had nothing that'd beat a karn. Best case scenario they exile one land and then exile everything else. I've never hated a deck so much. I literally contimplated buying infect purely to discourage the regulars herr from showing up on a daily basis expecting to take 1st or 2nd with tron.
