I honestly don't like how monastery siege is in the deck and so many basics. I'm not sure if blood moon is a problem but I get the idea of the shackles getting lots of islands.my second thing is the infinite obliteration. It doesn't seem like a good inclusion even as a 1 of because what are we initially afraid of? Like I said, this could be fine for your meta or shop but it does not seem well tuned to my eyes but yet I haven't played the deck. Sorry if my feedback is a little harsh.

Remand would still be better than countersquall. Countersquall is more of a sideboard card.

I wish there was an updated list to sultai midrange/control. I love the color combinations and still toying with the ideas it just gets pushed out due to grixis control being a better deck. I am planning on running a similar list to Gerard Fabianio's and the last posted deck with courser however I do not love the idea of spreading seas. Sure it's a good cards but is more for merfolk or another deck. Hopefully someone can come up with a good list or result at a tournament.

As for TFSS, the agree matchup is not that bad imo. Sure we might lost game 1 but we board into more counters and sweepers. I have been play testing with my friend who has burn and its not that bad with this updated list.

I made a few changes to the deck for the modern tournament than the list I posted in my last post. Overall, I was not sure what the meta game would be at the shop I went to but it was filled with midrange and other grixis variants ( delver/twin),

    4 Lightning Bolt
    4 Thought Scour
    2 Spell Snare
    1 Dispel
    3 Terminate
    2 Mana Leak
    2 Kolaghan's Command
    3 Cryptic Command
    1 Electrolyze
    1 Remand
    1 Go for the throat
    1 Jace, Architect of thought.

    4 Serum Visions

    2 Tasigur, the Golden Fang
    2 Gurmag Angler
    4 Snapcaster Mage
    1 Pia and Kiran Nalaar

    4 Polluted Delta
    4 Scalding Tarn
    3 Island
    2 Creeping Tar Pit
    2 Steam Vents
    2 Watery Grave
    2 Sulfur Falls
    1 Blood Crypt
    1 Swamp
    1 Mountain

    Sideboard:
    2 Fulminator Mage
    2 Dispel
    1 Countersquall
    1 Anger of the gods
1 Keranos, God of the Storms
    1 Izzet Staticaster
    1 Spellskite
    1 Damnation
    1 Shatterstorm
    1 Grave Titan
    1 Ashiok, Nightmare weaver
    2 Blood Moon

Not sure how to format like the other posts to make it smaller and have a link of each cards so sorry about that. Overall I went 3-2 and made top 8 in a 22 man field.
Round 1 I beat my friend 2-1 playing his brew but lost game 1 in bad fashion. The next game he did not draw lands from his 29 land deck and then mulled to 4 in game 3.
Round 2 I played grixis twin but thought it was control until late in the game he had the combo and I did not have an answer. Lost 2-0
Round 3 I played against u/r storm. Won game 1 with early pressure and game two was very close but he combo-ed off through grapeshot. Game 3 I made an error of boarding out the staticaster since I did not see empty the warrens and he ended up killing me with that. Lost 1-2
Round 4 I beat tron 2-0. It wasn't an optimal build of tron but usually its a hard game one.
Round 5 I played against u/w control. I think it was similar to a list at the pro tour/worlds tournament where one of the japans players played the deck (shouta yasaooka). I had an easy time against it and he couldn't answer Jace, AOT. 2-0

Overall went 3-2 and in the quarterfinals I beat the grixis twin guy I played in round 2. Won the match 2-0 as he conceded game 2 since he was from out of state and couldn't win the invitational.
Semi finals I played against grixis delver and lost game 1. Game two I made a misplay and then he proceeded to lay down ashiok and 2 activations later he nailed grave titan and keranos. That game was easily winnable but I made an error. Deck seemed good but some changes could be made.

I think Rise/fall is not that great currently. I've always liked the 2-1 split of mana leak and remand. On deprive, I get how good it is on tempo but don't think it's worth running over leak or remand. I haven't tried the young pyromancer version so I can't tell you what's the best amount.

    1 Grave Titan
    1 Ashiok, Nightmare weaver

I am playing in a modern event tomorrow and will tell you the results. Some of the cards listed are for the meta (darkblast, electrolyze). However I will be adding Pia and Kiran nailer to the main deck as a 2 of to see if that really is a better option. @TFSS i never mentioned gifts and said only 2-3 cryptic. I assume you meant thought seize and kolaghans commands about flashing them back. Yes they are good cards but I never see myself justifying running 3 commands over 2.

After playing grixis control for months now, you only need 8 fetches preferably 4 deltas and 4 tarns. The mire is not needed and I would rather have that 3rd island. I've been running 2 mana leak 1 remand and it seems fine. For lands 22 seems to be the right number with or without Jace, vryn's prodigy. I'd recommend 2-3 cryptics main board and 1 dispel with 2 more dispels in the board. Cryptic is a powerful card and even though it might be a little slow at 4 mana it is more versatile than the dispel.
