But it's strange is for release on June and it has 104 pages.... so I don't know I appreciate the help since it is almost impossible that one of these arrive to a local store. Better World Book doesn't have it.... already looked at it.
That's the trade paperback, which reprints all four of the monthly comics in one volume. Most likely it will not come with the promo cards. The individual issues are 32 pages (including ads), and have an MSRP of $3.99 (which it looks like is going to be increased to $4.99 for the second miniseries.) Oh, and keep in mind that the incentive variant covers (usually priced higher than MSRP because there are conditions to ordering them and stores can't just order however many they want) don't come with the cards, so if the cards are what you're looking for, just get the regular covers.
I believe that Midtown Comics based out of New York City ships internationally, so you can probably order the books from them.
I would like to see lycanthropes appear, possibly as an evolution of Kamigawa's flip-card mechanic. Cast it as a human, pay a cost to flip it and have it become a werebeing with upgraded/different abilities. And perhaps even have a cost or condition where it flips back to being human.
My store also had multiples of the same mythic in one box. Out of the 1 case and 1 extra box my store cracked, two of the boxes has duplicate mythics (one had two Tezzerets and one had two Hero of Bladehold), and another box had 3 Tezzerets.
To all of those complaining about "all the reprints with infect," out of 69 cards spoiled so far, only 15 of them involve infect in some way, and of those, I only see 4 that can really be considered to be a "reprint" (Inkmoth Nexus, Blightsteel Colossus, Viridian Corruptor, Corrupted Conscience). That makes 5.8% of the spoiled cards so far, not a very significant amount.
Personally, I agree with those who think that this makes for a very flavorful set, and I love it. If you don't like some of the cards, just remember there are many different types of players, and Wizards has to make cards for all of them. And don't decry a complete lack of innovation from Wizards when the "reprints" are making up such a small part of what we've seen.
"The shadowy Praetors lurk below; orchestrating the assault on Mirrodin while whispering tainted counsel into the unstable mind of a former planeswalker."
This text accompanies the wallpaper on the site: "Our third raid in as many days and the little guy is fiercer than ever. We're racing down the slope towards the horrors in the valley. His wordless shriek is joined by the battle-cries of the men and now we are one resolve, one purpose. We are the tide of destruction, and our enemies will not escape."
If this is any clue about the card's abilities, then perhaps we can assume some sort of granting haste, and maybe a buff for each attacker? And a small body, based on the fact that he's a goblin and the "little guy" comment. Maybe something like:
3R
Goblin Warchief
Creature - Goblin Berserker
Rare
Other creatures you control have haste
Each attacking creature you control gets +1/+0 for each other attacking creature
1/1
I have no idea how to go about finding a nice balance, so that's probably a bit too powerful, but I think something along those lines is possible.
Does everyone here realize they are arguing for a company to devalue it's own product. They are arguing for the company to go back on it's word. To risk it's credibility and consumer confidence. And you wonder why they made the choice they made?
They have tried reprints. It does not go over well. I think most people agree Chronicles was a failure. Imagine if Chronicles had duals and power in it. Would Magic have survived? Everyone wanted these cards, to play with, because after all it is a game... right? And yet it seems everyone is asking they do this again. Repeat their mistake. People seem to accept some cards are too old and powerful for the game and shouldn't be reprinted. Whether you know it or not, alpha dual lands are actually as powerful and broken as moxes or anything else. The only difference is they were printed in revised. If they weren't I imagine they'd be just as expensive as power. So why even go back? They are obviously broken. Legacy is obviously doing well. Magic is obviously doing well. What reason is there for them, really to re-print the most broken cards in the game en masse? Like Maro and Mr. Forsythe said, look to the future. There are exciting sets coming out in magic, for standard. You know, with balanced card pools and new mechanics. Untested and unsolved, constantly changing. Magic has always been about the future, not the past. It's good that it has this mystique to it's past. It means the cards you buy today could be rare in the future. I don't think that aspect should be destroyed because of a short term rise in popularity.
As has been stated before, just abolishing the reserve list wouldn't mean that Wizards would start reprinting stuff willy-nilly. The really strong stuff would either never be reprinted or (very unlikely) reserved for a From the Vault set.
Additionally, even though Chronicles did poorly when it was released, the popularity of Master's Edition cards on MTGO shows that it might work now. Considering how Chronicles reprinted cards that were only a couple of months/years old compared to how a new Chronicles would be reprinting cards over a decade old would be a significant difference.
I haven't heard any reports of rare problems with boxes from my store, but we've had odd packaging issues with commons reported. I personally opened one pack at the prerelease where my 10 commons were 2 each of 5 cards (2 Kitesails, 2 Corrupted Zendikons, etc.) Another pack in that same bunch had 2 doubles packed in it. On release day, I had a customer report that he opened a pack with no uncommons.
/EDIT Oh, and that customer also had a box where all 10 commons were the same card.
