Out of curiosity, wouldn't punching holes in your sleeve result in marked cards? I'm thinking of brail and how it makes tiny bumps or are we talking about literal holes that sit flat? I could see the later, but the former seems like there would be some cards that sit higher on the deck than others becuase some names are longer than others (ie shock vs Jace, the Mindsculpter). This might allow the blind player to know which card is on top, but it would certain be a give away for their opponent.

Also, while we're on the subject, I was at a GP once and saw a guy with one arm playing. He had this cool wooden holder that he used to keep his hand. So he wouldn't have to put his cards down each time he wanted to draw or play a spell, etc. It was very neat and kinda reminded me of a large scrabble tile holder. I've never been able to find one, but want one very much for edh.

Niblis of the Mist. That's not a spirit, it's a fountain!

Yep, I vote for Niblis of the Mist for the same reasons. It look me so long to realize that the "ghost" was behind the fountain. For a long time time I thought the water on the left was an arm. So, once I saw the ghost I realized it was just a bedsheet! I mean come on, it's literally a bed sheet ghost!

Lot of meh art here. I'll throw my vote to Hollowhenge Spirit for attention to detail. The artists added a little ghost fish to help indicate that the person drowned.

Stensia Bloodhall for me too. It's just such wasted potential. I feel like this could be art used for just about anything.

I'm just laughing at how stupid of a move that is for him to do, doesn't he realize Ebay works with any company on things like that? They'll strip his auctions and report his information.

Right, that guy was dumb and he will most likely be found and dealt with by WOTC. They've shut down ebay sales before (I remember when an unopened pack went on sales weeks before a release) and they will be able to find him. Plus, it's not like any of that stuff is worth a whole lot, even early. That's the stupidest thing.. there's very little reward potential for the great risk that he took.

As for the vault itself, I am glad they spoiled it. I think the amount of hype was compounded by the community (both WOTC and rumor mills) and this was built up to be so much more than it could have ever been. In my mind it's better to be disappointed now, over a week before the pre-release and get over it so you can enjoy yourself than rage out on the day of when you realize that it's just a regular promotional thing.

I honestly don't think the contents could have ever lived up to some of the expectations of the player base. I mean we had people theorizing that there was a Black Lotus tucked away in each vault. How realistic was that really?

So in the end it's just a few little extras that we should have seen coming (over sized cards from the commander release and dual sided token from the full moon FNM). Still better than those coasters they sent out as extra promos for SOM.

You can't really blame wizards for selling there product. Even if a set is homelands and the promo is a smelly sock, they gotta do their job and hype away. If anything was done wrong, it was the reps telling the TO's that they should charge more. For the TO's that charge more and don't know what's in the vault, well you can't really blame them. But shame on the TO that up's the price 10 bucks and has full knowledge of the vault contents.

Also, for the record, I am not entirely disappointed as I wasn't going to be charge extra and will be attending anyway. However, I have access to three separate stores that are running helavault events (2 sat and 1 sun) and if there was something amazing in there I would have gone out of my way to attend a third event.

Edit: FYI this comic called it :http://www.5colorcontrol.com/noshyfts/?p=357

I'm still not convinced there will even be a preview-
it hasn't been mentioned, and there are tons of reprints in demand.

Ah, but with the return to Ravnica they could do both a preview and a reprint by including one of the shock lands both in the RTR set and this from the vault.

Right, in fact look at the block we're in right now and the utility rare lands found there. It's a 10 card non-basic land rare cycle that was spread across three sets. (5/2/3).

Also, in this thread (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=406954) it is brought up that the first set at 30 extra card slots. This leads me to believe that they are actually printing all 10 in the first set, but even if they don't, I would expect to see all 10 printed across the block.

I stumbled upon this interesting magic related project on Kickstarter yesterday.

    http://kck.st/HWxtlX

These people are planing on making a musical puppet movie about MTG players. It sounded way to interesting to not share with my fellow MTGSers. Rather than summarize the entire plot/project, I'll just let you read the link.

I know the idea of a Magic movie has been kicked around for years, but how do you feel about this kind of film being made?

Mods: Please know that I am not affiliated with the people who are making the film. This post is not self-promotion and please excuse me if this thread belongs somewhere else.

Worst Gold: Of the four, nothings really that terrible, so I'll just vote for Olivia Voldaren because her weird curved hand on dress thing has always bugged me.

Worst artifact: Demonmail Hauberk look at the backgrounds for the other equipment, things like streets, cloth, wall, etc. Then look at this smeared paint job. Enough said.

Revisited my local wal mart and they restocked the older packs since I was last there. I bought two onslaught, 1 scourge, and 2 apocalypse (the rest were torment and mirrodin). Pull a Pernicious Deed, went woot!, nothing else too exciting.

They had something else there today that I didn't see mentioned yet. For 30 bucks they had a two deck "kit" It was told older precons in a clear plastic deck container with two packs of 50 sleeves (the sleeves were both different). Not too exciting except instead of two precons, I bought one with an onslaught precon and a timespiral tournament back. Kinda cool, pulled jank, but three random rares and 3 timeshifted cards was worth a try.

Mine had Apocalypse, onslaught, scourge, torment, and mirrodin. I bought up the Apocalypse, scourge, and one onslaught pack they had. Also one torment pack (which had a coffer in it!). Best pull was a stifle in the scourge pack.

The apocalypse packs were weird though. When opened it the uncommons were in front, followed by the rare, and then the commons in the back. Anyone every open these packs elsewhere? Was this just how they packed them or is this an oddity?

Surprised no one has voted for Parallel Lives yet, so I will. The card is just plain weird. I mean, look at their noses. It's just an odd art that doesn't really fit the mood of the rest of the set.

I did like Balefire Dragon's Dragon (kinda looks inspired by a Jabberwocky), but it didn't get my vote because the art, while great, is too dark to really see well around the edges. It really masks the detail.

Anyway, My vote for best green goes to Tree of Redemption. Great small details (did you notice the nooses hanging on the tree?), excellent background and all around great art. They even snuck in the helvault for good measure.

Also a shout out to Prey Upon. It's not an art style I normally like, but the movement and sizing of the art are great and it fits the mechanic so well.
