So far the only matchups I've had trouble with are spell based combo, and Tron of course. This deck feels like it has game against everything, and it's so much fun. A bonus is that most people have no idea what I'm doing in paper!
Nice list! Would you mind sharing a sideboard guide for common decks?
I don't think her +2 is good enough to protect her when x=1, and with the number of spells Sultai runs, hitting a land or spell is going to suck if you 0 her. Outside of Tarmogoyf, Tasigur, or Death's Shadow (depending on your shell) there aren't that many good targets for her 0, either. LtLH or LotV are better if you're running PWs. New Nissa is probably great for Bant Eldrazi, though.
Turbo goyf growth when you're playing against decks not playing goyfs? Side in your BBs and with a glimpse plus thought scour, your goyfs are going to be enormous. Also puts answers in your yard for snaps and tasigur to fish out.
Most of my sideboard is obviously targeting Tron and Dredge.
Have you been able to beat Tron consistently enough that its worth dedicating so many sideboard slots to the match up at the expense of others?
I definitely know I'm over-compensating. I actually haven't faced Tron, so I've created the side to training wheels myself until I get comfortable with the matchup.
I've been having mild success with the deck below. Ashiok is great against creature-heavy decks, but I'm thinking it might not be best on the MB and I'd do better to have 2 in the side and have another counter or removal on the MB in that flex spot. LTLH and Jace are all-stars, though, and they really slow down aggro decks. I really, really like Cut, as it's an "out of nowhere" kind of card and hits things that are out of reach of Decay and Push. Decks I've run into issues with are swarmy-type decks, like Faeries and Elves. Most of my sideboard is obviously targeting Tron and Dredge.
I'm interested in the Emerge build posted a few pages back, but I wanted to use it in a more control-based shell. So, I used Retswerd's deck as a shell, and blended in some of the feedback that came for that post. I don't think I've got the lands quite right: I'm unsure about my shocks and basics. I'm probably over thinking it, mostly worried about getting hosed by a Blood Moon. I'm not against flushing 3 basics for fastlands, if needed.
Does anyone run out of cards pretty quickly? I am thinking of running 1-2 Tireless Tracker or Bygone Bishop to counter this problem. I'm always at a card disadvantage especially against UWr Control which is pretty dominant where I play. I know Horizon Canopy helps with this problem but I don't have access to the card.
