I still am a great fan of Leyline of Punishment in my 75. It makes opponents hate useless. Sure, it doesn't deal damage.

I'm speaking of monored, so no atarkas command for now.

Not a bad idea. I have 4 in my binder in case I decide to ever switch back to mono-red. If I ever decide to go back to Rakdos or Jund burn I still have 3 Rain of Gore waiting to come in off the bench. Was hilarious that one time USA Control Sphinx's Revelationed without first reading what my sideboard card does.

Snapcaster Mage looks like a dork just standing there like "Ok did you take the picture yet. Do i look sweet"

I think Snapcaster Mage looks like Ken Jeong, which is why I call the card Senor Chang. "Ok did you take the picture yet. Do I look sweet", sounds like something Senor Chang might say.

Not sure why Naya is not an option in the near future? I'm guessing you mean for yourself.

Yeah, I did mean for myself.

Thanks for all the replies. So I will buy the eidolons next and then the fetches.

How do you guys beat a turn 0 leyline of sanctity with monored? I only could beat it once with a guide and a swiftspear. I burnt myself to trigger prowess on the swiftspear. Opponent had nothing good besides leyline.

Once you get your fetches you then get a couple either Stomping Grounds or Sacred Foundries that way you can either run Wear//Tear or Destructive Revelry in the sideboard. Revelry is better, but Wear//Tear allows you to later transition into Boros Burn.

    Thoughts on Arlinn Kord?

This has no place in a Burn deck.

Just built this deck and playtesting it to familiarize with it. How do you find post-SB games, what do opponents usually board in against this deck, what to expect from them in post-SB games? Do you often focus on different cards after SB? My initial impression is that Delver is less to be reliant on, am I wrong?

Just starting to pick up Delver, but I would assume graveyard hate (i.e. Relic or Rest in Peace) is something to look out for post SB. Forces you to hard cast the delve creatures and turns Snapcaster into a $60 chump blocker. Maybe bring in Engineered Explosives to take out RiP if playing against white?

Is anyone else running more than 1 basic land due the the disgustingly high appearance of Ghost Quarters?

I've been using two basics (currently both islands) due to all the Ghost Quarters.

Ill write a report for the Baltimore Regionals that I placed 66th, later on today. Went 6-4 and the room was filled with Eldrazi and contributed to 2 of my losses(Lost to G/R tron and Scapeshift). On the Thought/GB split, I think we need to still play 4 GB and just depends on how you feel with a # of thoughts. It's bad against the eldrazi decks/aggro decks. I like ensoul as a option to go towards, but do remember that if its not on a darksteel, it can be remover fairly easy.

Dismember will still kill a 5/5 Darksteel, so might not be an answer against Eldrazi decks though.

What is our best answer to Eldrazi? I got completely destroyed by the black version of the deck last night. Blood moon i suppose, anything else?

Ccrumble to dust or maybe we have to side in ensnaring bridge
    just

Ensnaring Bridge could work, especially if you can swing BB for instantly equipping Plating.

Or sac the Bridge to Ravager when you can swing over the Eldrazis' heads for lethal.

There's been some discussion of bogles. If I see a lot of it in my meta is Aura Barbs worth a sideboard slot?

I prefer Deflecting Palm against Bogles, especially since it is useful against other match ups as well where Aura Barbs really is only there to come in against the one deck.

I just finished 5-0 in MTGO Modern league with RWg burn! Barely beat American Control in first match, then Abzan Company 2nd, followed by mono red storm, and then finished by winning the mirror twice.

Just played against american control, and it was brutal post-board. Timely + Rest for the Weary is brutal life swings, and it took 2 skullcracks in one turn to fight off one of those (thanks to counter spells). That with spells that kill attacking creatures and board wipes, its a hard matchup to survive.

I barely won this match up in game 3 in my current mtgo league yesterday. Game 1 I destroyed the opponent, but you're right post board their deck is brutal for us. Pretty sure I only pulled it off because I kept waiting for them to fetch on my endstep to cast my instants with their fetch activation on the stack (so they wouldn't have mana to counter).

Therapy is (sadly) not modern legal....

StreetMage was talking about the legacy version of affinity when he mentioned Cabal Therapy.

I haven't played burn in awhile; why DID Keldon Maraurders stop being a thing?

It is just outclassed by better options now. Swiftspear and Eidolon are just far better creatures.

Hi, mostly a burn and robots player, but have read through this thread and am very intrigued with possibly building this deck. Any thoughts on splashing green instead of white and running Destructive Revelry instead of Wear//Tear in the sb? As someone who has played mostly burn in modern I attest that while Dragon's Claw is annoying, the green splash allows for Feed the Clan which is just soul crushing.
