What am I to do about wurmcoil engine

Pretty much Path is the best option. No haste means you'll often be able to just ignore it, untap, and burn face for the win.

I've found that Path of a double edged sword in the Tron matchup. It gets rid of their big creatures, but it's just a dead card if they play Karn or Ugin.

Yeah, on the other hand Searing Blaze is usually pretty useless and Eidolon can be meh (especially on the draw).

Hello, can you please advise why do you think the jund list is good? is gonti's machinations performing well for you? thank you Grin

I've played Jund Burn in the past. Advantage is you can go to 24-28 one drops and run less land. Also allows Tasigur Burn, which is fun but not really good at all. Disadvantage is no Boros Charm or white sideboard cards. Still dabble with it and various other variations, but RWg is my actual list.

@RyogAkari I still contend that Gonti's Machinations aka "Rift Helix" is too slow for Modern Burn.

Mardu is already viable. This card seems to slow. You drop it then wait two turns to sac it to Helix. I'd rather just cast a Helix now and not wait.

It really is speculation until spoilers start though.

Would gob guide get a reprint you think? Wizards has this habit of inconveniently dodging a few must-needed reprints in modern masters sets. And yeah I agree about your stand on black, it's great but W/G just meshes with the strategy and meta a bit better. But if over time they print a really good rakdos burn spell in the future, I'd be all over that. G/U are easily my least favorite colors tbh and I'd love for burn not to need green in the next few years lol.

Goblin Guide could a get a reprint, but if it is true that MM17 is focusing on Innistrad and Return to Ravinica blocks that could mean that it doesn't make the cut again.

Did you ever dislike Shard Volley or wish you played less lands? Why Grafdigger's cage over other graveyard hate such as RiP or Relic? Did 20 lands feel good or have you considered 19?

Thank you for the response, I'm considering switching to Boros myself.

Relic costs 2 mana to take out the graveyards, and for that price Rest in Peace is a more permanent solution. RiP and Cage both shut down Finks, Snapcaster, and most graveyard strategies. Rest in Peace also nerfs Goyf, delve cards, and Living End (but you really don't need hate to beat Living End as it is pretty easy for Burn to out race it). Cage stops Collected Company and Nahiri's ultimate. RiP is harder to remove, but Cage costs less so comes down a turn earlier. It really depends on what decks you are likely to face. Both hit Dredge, but honestly we can out race Dredge without hate cards.

Mull down to 3 for a Leyline? Every Burn player in the world thanks you. Leyline isn't an auto-win, and you've made a serious mistake if you're keeping garbage and making poor decisions just to hit your Leyline. Burn can beat Leyline, and it's going to be a lot easier when you set your game plan back several turns to find it.

Absolutely. Leyline with no clock means little against Burn, especially the Nacatl build. Main board sure, but we side in D Rev against decks that are likely to bring it in.

How do u all sb against bogle that main decked spirit link and coronet? Is leyline of punishment is better than skullcrack/A-command?

If you're seeing a lot of Bogles you can always start packing Blessed Alliance in the sideboard (assuming you're running white).

As a Bogles player, I suggest Deflecting Palm. It's the bane of my existence when playing Burn...it's the only threat that I worry about when playing burn since it's typically a great matchup. A well timed DP can ruin us as win you the game. Blessed Alliance would only be good out of the board if the Bogle's player isn't running 3/4 copies of Leyline of Sanctity, which is unlikely from what I've experienced. Main board Blessed could really slow our game plan, but if I know you're running Burn, I'll mull down to 3 just to have Leyline in my opening hand.

Agree that Deflecting Palm is the best option, especially with Destructive Revelry support. Blessed Alliance is an option if seeing a lot of Bogles, and can be used in the mirror as well.

Yes, I know Thoughtseize is there to take a hate card from opponent's hand but counter magic does the same job by countering a card that could make you lose the game. So as others said Thoughtseize is better here because it not just take the problematic card away from opponent's hand but it also lets you see his/her hand which will show you what you need to play around. Counter on the other hand won't.

The comment dlodolce7 made about Thoughtseize being there to take a card was directed at the poster who suggested using Git Probe, not at your question about counters.

Does Anybody have a Jeskai burn list I could look at? I mainly want to go Jeskai for Jeskai Charm and Snapcaster Mage as well as some White cards like Lightning Helix and Boros Charm. I'm debating adding Mantis Rider and Stormchaser Mage or Monastery Swiftspear.

I don't really play EDH, but if you are free Thursday evening Natural Twenty on Fort Apache holds a weekly EDH tournament every Thursday at 7:00.

What are people doing vs Eldrazi? I'm been considering Ensnaring Bridge because Path To Exile just has not been getting it done. Anyone have any other options?

Usually either kill them really fast or lose. Post sideboard Deflecting Palm helps, especially since it doesn't target the damage source which means you don't have to pitch a card to Deflect a Reality Smasher.
