As others have mentioned various Enchantments you may need to remove, I'll add 1 more to the list. If your in a meta that has Blue Moon, RW Prisons or face a Mono Red/RDW that runs Blood Moon you'll also need Enchantment removal. Yes you can get around Blood Moon but it locks out your G and W unless you grab basics (Id run at least 1 or each) making cards like Atarka's, Boros Charm, Lightning Helix and Path to Exile if you need it sit as dead cards in your hand.

I wouldn't run at least one of each basic. Every land in this deck needs to either tap for red, or fetch a land that taps for red. There is no room for Basic Plains or Basic Forest. If I was in a meta with mostly Blood Moon decks I would switch to mono red before adding non-mountain basics.

I did say "If your in a meta that has Blue Moon, RW Prisons or face a Mono Red/RDW that runs Blood Moon....." :p

Still no. Every land needs to tap for red, or fetch for a land that taps for red. There is no room for Basic Not-Mountain. Burn if often runs on only two lands. If you start fetching non red sources then you have to start cutting RR spells. Cutting Eidolon to play around Blood Moon is a horrible idea.

Hey guys quick question for the side board, which is better; 2 Relic of Progenitus or 2 Rest in Peace? Thanks!

I only like Rest in Peace if you're in a meta where almost every opponent is on a graveyard deck (I haven't had RiP in my sideboard since Dredge stop being THE deck). Question for me is usually "Relic or Grafdigger's Cage"? Overall Relic is usually better, but I prefer Cage if I'm likely to be up against a lot of some combination of Abzan Company/Dredge/Kitchen Finks Deck.

@Spsiegel1987, you really are in the wrong forum to continually harp on how easy and brainless of a deck Burn is. I'm glad that you weren't able to "have some free wins or turn my brain off". Maybe you'll learn to take the deck seriously and stop coming off as an arrogant prick.

About this new toy I think that maybe we can split nacalt with him, vs Eldrazi/Tarmogoyf/Tasigur... you can attack with him, cast a bolt after block and it become 2/3 that kill all eldrazis/tasigur and also Tarmogoyf. If we follow the Naya path instead of boros I'm sure that this toy ca be played. I'll check it.

Couldn't you also just attack with any of the other creatures (except Lavamancer if he is in your list) and then Bolt after blocks to do 5 damage and kill any of those creatures without adding a creature with no haste that slows the deck down?

You could, but then you lose your creature in the process (which is fine). Soul-Scar Mage is not worth playing in this deck. The ability it has is nearly irrelevant and it's a slow Swiftspear otherwise. It would just add bad topdecks to a deck that doesn't want or need more bad topdecks. It's not even worth playing as a sideboard card. If you need to kill those creatures: Path to Exile.

Raging Goblin would be a better option for Burn than this guy.

And not losing your creature isn't as important as getting in the extra damage from playing a haste creature instead.

It can function without Eidolon, but not as a Tier 1 deck. Eidolon is really the card that took Burn from fringe back to one of the top decks.

What are the generally accepted bad matchups for Burn? I'm trying to choose a secondary deck to play, and I would like a deck that has even to positive matchups against the decks that are good against Burn. So far I'm thinking about Affinity, Merfolk, and DNT. Potentially DSJ as well. I guess Soul Sisters as well, but I can't remember the last time I saw that deck.

Affinity is a race, not necessarily a bad matchup. Merfolk and DNT are bad though. Abzan Company can be tough. The absolute worst matchup is probably Ad Nauseam.

Maybe a cheap edit, but it had to be done. Wink

Dare I alter my demigods like this? Hm.

At the very least you found your new playmat.

I thought of having 1x Dreadbore and 1x Hero's Downfall, for flexibility with Instant/Sorcery. Do you think that it is better to have 2x Dreadbore?
I will do some tests! Thanks for the input!

The instant speed doesn't really matter for destroying the planeswalker since you can't do so before your opponent activates whatever planeswalker you want to target, so sorcery speed doesn't much matter in that regard.

I have been playing and tuning this deck too for a while now. I don't think you want to run both kalitas and bedlam reveler. Also Kalitas would require a splash into a 3rd colour, something a blood moon deck probably doesn't want to do. Honestly, bedlam is much better in my opinion in this deck then gurmag or khalitas. The tempo gain from the card is really good. A top deck late game bedlam can represent a 2 for 1 which is pretty huge late game. (block a 4/4, cast removal from the 3 cards drawn, ez 2 for 1). Bedlam also helps mitigate dead draws against decks by being able to dump the useless half of our deck. Finally it dodges 3/4 most common removal spells in the format, even while usually costing 2-4 mana. (bolt, abrupt, push, dies to path of course.) Honestly I can't praise this card enough, it plays very well in many matchup's. The only time I would probably bring it out is vs a deck like scapeshift or tron. Our interaction isn't too good vs these types of decks and our clock is far too slow. I would probably go -all revelers, -bolts, -pushs, +land destruction, +thoughtseize, +LotV. Not to mention there is still some residual graveyard hate in the format which while yes, hits both delve and bedlam, at least bedlam's other 2 abilities are still relevant.

TLDR: Bedlam Reveler > delve creatures.

Um, you keep talking about Kalitas but it is clear you are mistaking it for Tasigur. Tasigur is the delve creature that requires splashing blue or green. Kalitas is the 2BB legendary vampire that causes opponents creatures to exile instead of going to the graveyard, giving you zombie tokens that you can sacrifice (along with any other zombie or vampire you control) to give Kalitas +1/+1 counters.

"B/R Pack Rat" (which looks eerily similar to a Blitzkrieg deck) came in 7th in one of last weekends Regionals.

Hey guys, I really like this deck idea. I'm curious about the reasoning behind Faithless Looting over Cathartic Reunion. Is the CMC worth only drawing two cards? Do you find yourself using the flashback often?
    Thanks!

You're not drawing cards, you're filtering cards. Looting is better at filtering. The idea is often to get Demigods into the graveyard. Looting facilitates that, Reunion does not (since you have to discard before drawing which doesn't allow you to pitch whatever you drew).

I think Firewalker stinks right now, to be honest. The only real red deck is the Burn mirror, and it's not catching anyone by surprise these days.

I like it in my local meta with a lot of Burn, but it's reasonable to drop it. Something like Phyrexian Unlife is more generalized in that it will help against other aggro decks and "psuedo-gain 10" is back breaking against Burn.

Also like Kor Firewalker locally for same reason. Unlife pretty backbreaking. I would also suggest Blessed Alliance for the mirror if you're seeing a lot of Bogles since it can crush that deck.

Yeah for sure about Searing Blaze sideboard it out during tron matches. So do you honestly think we will see a migration away from wild nacatal? Or is this just a bunch of talk with no backing

Probably migration away. There is a lot of hive mind mentality with most (all?) tier one decks. If the talk is drop Nacatl then most will follow suite until someone does well with a Nacatl build, at which point the masses will jump back on the Nacatl bandwagon. I personally have been leaning towards RWg since Inspiring Vantage became legal. Naya sans the cat is really strong, but Boros splash for D Rev is the version I know inside and out, and the version I personally have more consistent positive results with. For me the percentage points I lose by dropping Atarka's Command are made up and slightly more so by playing the version of Burn I'm more comfortable with. I still mix it up on MTGO, and if I ever get to where I feel as comfortable with Naya as I do with RWg then I will most likely switch. Until then I go with RWg when I'm not testing, but looking to win.
