Hi folks,
I've been messing around with this deck and wasn't sure whether to post it in 8rack or here, but I think it's more at home here.
I like the idea of having the 6-8 rack effects, but no matter what deck I'm playing, I personally cannot accept the idea of basically folding to any one hate card (specifically Leyline of Sanctity here). Even though it's not super extensively played it blanks huge portions of any deck with lots of discard or burn, and it would be easy to remove or play around the other 6 threats (3 Lavaclaws and 3 Desecration Demons).
So with this build I'm especially excited about the sideboard's ability to transform the deck, and most of the cards are flexible at the same time.
Basically the ENTIRE sideboard is going to come in against 1) Amulet Bloom 2) Bogles and 3) Tron, and against the first two I remove almost all the targeted discard as they have Leylines. Certain pieces will come in against other decks of course.
This is a very budget friendly deck as I don't have Lilis, Obliterators etc.(just got back in the game after 15 year absence, sold cards long ago) but I think it's reasonably competitive...
I'm looking to get some feedback on this deck. It seems pretty powerful, has maindeck answers to pretty much everything and can close out games relatively quickly with delve fatties. The sideboard is a total work in progress. Still somewhat budgeted as I acquire all the cards I want for it.
The game plan is to start filling up your graveyard with Thought Scour, Darkblast, Stinkweed Imp, etc. in order to give you access to super efficient creatures, while maintaining control with plenty of removal, counters and graveyard hate.
Darkblast disrupts Infect, Twin and Jund nicely while filling your graveyard. I opted for Surgical Extraction over discard because it can remove wincons and control graveyards effortlessly, especially in conjunction with counters and removal.
Languishing a board full of Merfolk and leaving yourself an Angler or Tasigur feels great.
