So I have been playing this deck on cockatrice a few days now and its been serving me rather well
Just thought I would throw it on the theory craft boards to tear it apart and help me solidify it with the current meta game
Basic idea: Trader gives them Coil and then use a remove graveyard effect to cause them to lose the game
1) yes I know its cheesy
2) yes I know its so easy to kill trader (you can sneeze on the guy and he dies) hence why I try to use skittersprite
3) vial helps tremendously because you can EOT trader and play down coil safely without risking casting a "slow" hardcast trader
The mana base is kinda wonky and it needs a sideboard but it is pretty rogue and a blast to play (plus I can't tell you how many times people have to go "w8 I need to read what coil does")
Ok so I have been playing this deck alot lately (especially since my freshmen year of undergrad is coming 2 a close) and have play tested alot against faeries
my question is though is magus of the moon good for this deck anymore? my faeries test partner always sides in redcaps
my proposal is would some other op creature like troll ascetic be a better placement in this deck?
the only reason i ask is bcuz i think that while magus is a great hinderance for the opponents deck that too many players have wised up 2 it
maybe i am completely wrong...
Haha I love SirKirby's quote... then he goes on to describe in his decks thread how he can win with an optimal hand even more rare than xxtalonxx
Anyways I agree with xxtalonxx that leaf crown elder isn't needed
He adds to the board position but with a deck like this the only creature I can see him putting in play that could effect the board state is rage forger
He is to slow... the reason he is good in treefolk is bcuz he perfectly fits in the curve
I assume this deck goes
turn 1 llanowar reborn
turn 2 ashling the pilgrim
turn 3 sensation gorger
turn 4 seismic assualt and hand dump
I personally think you should add the worlds best shaman into the deck (chameleon colossus)
I think i will try this deck out next week and see how it does
Interesting idea
I don't know if ur being condescending but watever...
Personally I agree with everything you said
But however the allure of how good crusher is versus midrange (which rite now I believe is more popular than aggro) sways my opinion
Not arguing or refuting anything u said just adding my two cents
weakening the already stressed base for 4 cards isn't that strong imo
true lightning angel is a beast but then once you add her you add other fairly potent white cards like oblivion ring and condem
next thing you know u dont have enough creatures so u add wrath
then finally u remove all elements of aggro or midrange and form angelfire
not a bad choice considering the metagame but i would like 2 keep this U/R aggro
heck we dont even run tarmogoyf which is probably the best splash out there
I agree with elemental but I would make a few other suggestions
Yes without 1 drops full set of conclaves is needed
Threaten is fine in any deck that runs gargadon, I would leave them in
I would also leave in the epocrasites as elemental said marauders arent good with out facilitated 1 drops to assist it in the aggro approach
I would go
-4 marauders
+1 sower
+1 pestermite
+1 drifter
+1 epocrasite
Though i warn u at that point ur deck becomes quite latent with 3 drops and may lose to dedicated aggro
Doesnt sound to bad at all
My only worry about v clique is the mana cost associated with him
I am still a firm believer in countryside crusher, though now that I play this deck more the more I feel I should add back in those siege gang commanders that were in the original list
As I asked above have you played against the new revillark deck, we have a pretty crappy matchup versus it
Any suggestions???
I haven't decided on a deck though (probably something with blue in it)
Cockatrice name: Jace, The Mind Sculptor
Poor Gaka never once got his TFT going
They both won one game a piece but the third game DXI-Edge conceded to beast89
So the final result is beast89 2-1 versus DXI-Edge
ps. I have a sneaking suspicion that DXI-Edge is a CIA operative and should not be trifled with (it's ok his secret identity is safe with me)
gl to every body else in the tourney
Deck Code: 3d95j6ba

so here is the deck
4 Spellskite
4 AEther Vial
4 Immortal Coil
4 Relic of Progenitus
4 Mox Opal
2 Tormod's Crypt
4 Thirst for Knowledge
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Serum Visions
4 Watery Grave
1 Blood Crypt
4 Marsh Flats
2 Misty Rainforest
1 Graven Cairns
1 Cascade Bluffs
4 Swamp
3 Island
1 Mountain
1 Underground River

I hear he is a pretty good threat and had awesome synergy with the rest of the deck
Personally I agree with everything you said

I mean yea he was great wen we only had lorwyn to work with but now with morningtide i think that crusher is better
