I thought my Dakkon Blackblade (pulled from a Legends pack) was the coolest card ever. My friend had an incredible skill at pulling it for ante, but I would play the heck out of those games and never lost him. But the first card I truly thought "I must own you" was Channel. My friend had been to a card shop, saw someone pull off Channel-Fireball, bought the card and did it to me. I was in awe. I then played Channel-Fireball decks until it was no longer legal in Type 2.

When was it stated that Amonkhet was Bolas's home plane? We only know that it is under his rule. He's a nearly all powerful evil dragon planeswalker, it would be very easy for him to take over a plane, especially one with a worship structure already in place.

That's true. I guess I should have written "home base" rather than "home plane".

It's possible, but unlikely as he has been confirmed in the block *after* Kaladesh. (Amonkhet)

    Exactly. Here's a quote from Maro's article:

Quote from from "Mark Rosewater" »
First, we wanted more continuity. We wanted a sense that the story was more ongoing and connected. To do that, we created a stable cast of characters (the Gatewatch) and have started interlinking the story of the blocks more closely together.

This means that the story of one block will lead in some way to the next. It does look like the split between SOI block and Kaladesh block is pretty hard, suggesting that the link between Kaladesh and Amonkhet will likely be greater.

So we now know that the block following Kaladesh in set on Nicol Bolas' home plane, and on Monday Mark Rosewater reiterated in his State of Design article that "story integration" - the continuing story between the blocks - was a key highlight of 2016.

Then you look at the set symbol for Aether Revolt.

Knowing what we know now, how can that be anything but a stylised head of Bolas?

I can only assume that the story will be that the Planeswalkers discover that he is pulling the strings on Kaladesh and chase him back to his home plane for a final battle only to discover that the 5 gods of Amonkhet are on Bolas' side and that they're way in over their heads (perhaps leading to another death of a Planeswalker).

Snapcaster and Liliana seem the most obvious lock, as they can't print Tarmogoyf for a third time and expect it to bring in buyers, and Abrupt Decay should be expected with the specific mention of Return to Ravnica. It could also suggest another printing of the 10 Shocklands, but I suspect that they'll keep those in their pocket for the inevitable 3rd trip to Ravnica.
