spoiler season and it seems there is no addition to this deck.
i wonder if this is usable in this deck? surveil is kinda nice to have but i wonder if its necessary.

that's why you need anger of the gods in the sideboard if your meta is infested with humans.
between anger of the gods and shriekmaw i would say the deck are well equipped to handle humans.
also there is always the good ole jund charm if you want a good versatile sideboard card.

the problem with humans is we need too much sideboard space to properly address them, that leave little to no space at all for other decks.

i dont think something like midnight oil would remedy mono red matchup.
a bit confused because mono red used to be our best matchup and they only gain goblin chainwhirler from dominaria.
i think the main reason we are losing to mono red is because people are skimping on removal mainly fatal push.
maybe we need to bring back longtusk cub (far stretch but the cub used to be extremely good against red decks) into the mix and need to be more aware of the soul-scar mage + goblin chainwhirler. also cut down on one toughness creature (llanowar elves, glint-sleeve siphoner) and bring back bristling hydra to the mainboard.

while mono Gseems tempting the truth is it is not that easy.
the problem with mono G is they are weak to any other decks in current meta except mono R.
most player are already splashing B for scrapheap scrounger duress and vraska's contempt to support control and midrange matchup.

have anyone tested GUR living end build recently ?
it seems that the U cyclers are overall better than the B.
i can see the problem with cascade spells since there is no GU cascade spell in modern.
this is an old idea but since RBG has been discussed extensively how about shaking it up a little

still doesn't completely understand on the archfiend of ifnir inclusion on the recent list.
sure it is can be easily hardcasted if necessary but you almost never cast it from hand ever, most people doesn't even use the superior jungle weaver back then.
i think its better to put other one mana cycler on the slot (deadshot minotaur or architects of will)

dead // gone if primarily for aggro decks but i found that it is far more effective just to jam shriekmaw on the slot.

i think living end is picking up steam because people with sub optimized list can still put up good result on scg open and classic.

that depends on your meta entirely.
if you are going blind most likely it will feature:
    3-4 ricochet trap
    2-3 ingot chewer
    1-2 shriekmaw
    0-3 blood moon
3 anti burn stuff (brindle boar, kitchen finks, leyline of sanctity etc)
anti graveyard stuff (faerie macabre, leyline of the void, ravenous trap)
anti combo stuff (lost legacy or slaughter games)

personally i think we can bench anti combo stuff until the meta settles, most player will be playing either control decks or bbe decks in a few weeks.

against control you card of choice would be fulminator mage, blood moon and ricochet trap (in your sideboard).
i think its already explained in the primer, but basically your line of play would be cycling for lands needed to start hardcasting your cyclers while using fulminator mage and blood moon to shut off their mana. your aim is not to go off as soon as possible but to successfully land a living end that would end the game.

boil and choke are narrow sideboards. unless you meta is infested with merfolk i dont see why would you bring those card in the sideboard.

late to the party because i am not focused on magic since january.
    bbe and jace got unbanned.
as an observer i think most people will play jund this Saturday, some will try to jam jace into every deck they can but soon realized control decks doesn't belong in modern.this is a boon and a threat.

jund matches will be favorable to us. they are weak to fulminator mage and blood moon also being a creature based deck without counter spell makes them extremely vulnerable to living end

on the other hand jace unbanning means more jace fanboys will pick up control deck (duh).
does this mean we need to main deck blood moon since the 2 top dog are weak to it?
does more control deck means we need 3-4 ricochet trap on the sideboard again? i only have 2 on the sideboard most of the time
how will our sideboard look like now?

4 beast within main seems excessive since at some point you would rather draw another card especially in aggro matchup. i think 3 is the magic number. currently packing 2 beast within and 1 kolaghan's command in main.

horror of the broken lands is awkward sometimes but the additional power from cycling sometimes gets you there. there are situation when the opponent choose to kill desert cerodon only to get squashed by oversized horror. plus unlike the old man monstrous carabid, horror can block if necessary so that is a plus.

18-19 land is enough since simian spirit guide can be counted as a land. most deck packs 3 of the noble primate and most time we only need 3 mana to go off so safe to assume 21 mana source is enough most of the time.

interesting idea but i think it will execute poorly.
some of the most common way to die with this deck is because you failed to draw a cascade spell (in this case as foretold) .
the countermagic will buy you time but you still need as foretold to cast living end because your optimal win condition is still living end. maybe the list need drift of phantasm as a way to tutor the as foretold. sure you can always hard cast the creature but with cavern of souls creature based deck clogging up the tier 1, it will be hard just to rely on counterspell to delay and stall.

just played in small modern night, had a rotten luck to be paired against merfolk and grixis death shadow. land screwed and failed to draw cascader same old story well i guess i need more practice because i dont have a lot of chance to play this deck like i used to.

has anybody here tries the non blue build?
i dont feel thee blue have much merit other than supreme will based on jenn list.
still not sold on as foretold because if you want to cast stranded restore balance in your hand there is kari zev's expertise (although it gives a creature to your opponent unless you have a suspended gargadon)
by cutting blue the cascade spells feels more streamlined because both uses R (violent outburst, demonic dread).
the bad things about the non blue is you cant dig your library as effective as supreme will, but red have collective defiance and somewhat inferior fateful showdown.

tell me what you think about the non blue version.
btw the only thing that prevented me from trying the blue version is because somehow i dont have any fieldmist borderpost or gideon of the trials Shocked
speaking of gideon of the trials i think ajani vengeant fits better on that slot, although the cannot lose emblem is somewhat enticing.

from my observation of the latest major tournament list, i noticed the list has dropped archfiend of ifnir in favor of the old hurly-burly deadshot minotaur. i never liked the archfiend, 2 cyclers are sub optimal. the only exception is pale recluse because it helped out if you are missing a forest but even then i only have 1 on my mainboard.

i am sure you should run faerie macabre in that slot. this little fairy tend to be underestimated by most but i find it extremely useful against most modern decks. you should always have a minimal of 2 in your mainboard.

about affinity matchup : its only bad for us if they have arcbound ravager. if they dont have it its a breeze. after sideboard we have ingot chewer which is a huge eff you card to affinity player, kolaghan's command which kill 2 of their guys or if you are in affinity heavy meta you have shatterstorm as an option.

i am genuinely more worried about burn matchup because affinity takes some skill to play but burn is such a coin flip (that is unfavorable to us) even a third grader can kill you game 1 and you got nothing to say for it.

if you really want to cascade into a real hate card there is always kor firewalker. a couple of these guys really bums up their style.
it is an old proven tech but feel free to test it out, also works very well with kataki, war's wage for affinity matchup
you can also pack some kitchen finks into the sideboard. they wont expect to be aggroed back by a bunch of ouphes.
or try the defensive route with bottle gnomes that can block most of their creature all day long.
never forget the old trusty shriekmaw and the newest addition to our removal suite dead // gone

sideboard choice is many but burn remain our bad matchup since there is a very limited way for our deck to interact from turn 1-3.

    ???????????????????????????/

collective brutality is 1B. a huge nombo in our deck.
collective brutality is a guaranteed non dead draw card, but cascading into it? i dont think you ever ever want to do that (especially in this deck)

burn is always a rough matchup (and always will be). for matchup guide refer to the primer.
