Oh, your change was Gravecrawler TO Abrupt? I read that as the reverse.

Then in that case, yeah 0-6 for me. I lose to removal.

The problem I have with this format is it's a LOT of upkeep/mental math. Especially if you were trying to break a draw effect(Looter Il-kor is a good find).

I thought of Solemnity, forgot to try and break it.
I was looking at Moment's Peace as well but figured there would be a lot of non-creature win conditions.

tl;dr I like weird rules like this one, but the possibilities were too open, and I couldn't grok it easily enough to break it. (brings back the no mana hand!)

    | X 0 3 0 6 3 | 12 |

    Convoy_Avenger
    Steppe Lynx / Exploration
Without interruption, I can win on turn 4. Ultimately, my play does not change much if I'm OTP or OTD, as I have no interaction on OPs turn.
    OTD:
1: (Draw Lynx)Land, Exploration, Land, Lynx
2: (Draw Exploration)Exploration, Lynx, Land, Land, Land (6 damage)
3: (Draw Blank) Land, Land, Land, swing for 12 (18)
4: (Draw Lynx) Land, Land, Land, Swing for 12 (30)

    OTP:
    1: Land, Exploration, Land, Lynx
2: (Draw Lynx) Lynx, Land, Land, swing for 4 (4 damage)
3: (Draw Exploration) Exploration, Land, Land, Land swing for 12 (16 damage)
4: (Draw Blank) Land, Land Land, swing for 12 (28 damage)

    2) Feyd_Ruin
    Lightning Bolt / Looter il-Kor
0-6 You drawing more Bolts than I do Lynx does it I think.
    Not sure entirely though.

    3) ManyCookies :: Zombilee
    Gravecrawler / Dark Salvation
    3-3

    OTP:
    1: Land, Exploration, Land, Lynx
    1: (Draw Crawler)Land, Crawler
2: (Draw Lynx) Lynx, Land, Land, swing for 4 (4 damage)
2: (Draw Salvation) Land, Crawler (swing for 2)
3: (Draw Exploration) Exploration, Land, Land, Land swing for 12 (16 damage)
3: (Draw Blank) Land, Salvation a Lynx for X=1 (swing for 4 - 6 damage)
4: (Draw Blank) Land, Land, Land, swing for 6, block (16 damage)
4: (Draw Crawler) Land, Crawler, Salvation Lynx X=1 (Swing for 4 - 10 damage)
5: (Draw Lynx) This is where it seems like you win. You have enough Salvations to slow me down
OTD, you're short 1 Salvation, so I get it.

    4) NTheo
    Kindle / Kindle
    0-6
Too much removal for my 0/1

    5) Superbajt
Solemnity / Wand of the Elements
6-0, my 2 Lynx are enough.

    6)xStormaggedonx :: The Goblin-Wizard's Fury
Mizzix of the Izmagnus / Aurelia's Fury
    3-3
Not sure, but I think it's a draw
OTP I kill you on turn 4, you can only deal with 1 Lynx
OTD, you can deal with both Lynx, and I can't come back from there.

    A couple of questions:
Do we start the game with the two cards in our hand, or are we actually cardless? saw the notes

And because I'm having the dumb, do the copies work like cards, or tokens? (does Undying work?)

Personally felt the challenge wasn't interesting enough/too open. I don't have the free time like I used to to really delve into potential hands.

I like how each pack has two people as the focus. Get's the message across well - they also look cool.

Discard is already not used very much. Looking back at the last two Library hands, the Library effect came into play 0 times from what I could tell.

It seems largely like a useless hand rule, imo.

    1) Convoy_Avenger
Authority of the Consuls / Barrage of Expendables / Illness in the Ranks / Shrieking Affliction / Undiscovered Paradise

So my hand turned out to be pretty bad against anyone playing a real creature.
And I was going to consider going Daze/Foil/Commandeer.
Didn't think of Leyline of Vitality, before Shreiking, I had Meek in there then realized it was banned. That might have changed some of my lines. (at least Feyd's, probably Tom's)

    vs

    2) Feyd_Ruin :: A Wild Feyd Appears!
2-2 I think. Missed the life gain.
Chancellor of the Forge / Chancellor of the Forge / Chancellor of the Forge / Chancellor of the Forge / Leyline of Vitality
I don't need to play Illness. OTD, you get me, OTP I get to stop 5 damage
OTD, you hit me for 9 (11)
Land, Authority, hit you for 5 (m:11 y:15)
Hit me for 3 (Gain 1 with authority, elemental can't attack) (m:6 y:15)
Land, Barrage, hit you for 5 (m:6, y:10)
    Hit me for 3 (m:3, y:10)
    Hit you for 6 (m:3, y:4)
Then I die. OTP, I would have that extra turn I need.

You gain life! That extra turn I thought I had is used up by it.

    3) ManyCookies :: But Who'll Salvage the Salvagers?
Auriok Salvagers / Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Memnarch / Island

    0-6
I was concerned about Commandeer, Memnarch seems better.

    4) Mogg :: One of a Mirri-ad of Ideas That I Had For This Round
Black Lotus / Blood Moon / Foil / Island / Mirri, Cat Warrior

0-6 I think. Mirri is just good enough to get me, regardless of anything else.

    5) nerdyjoe
Black Lotus / Disenchant / Gut Shot / Path to Exile / Patrician's Scorn
Quite a few lines here actually. I think it's 3-3

    6) tomsloger
Chalice of Life / Ensnaring Bridge / Mishra's Workshop / Phyrexian Revoker / Pithing Needle
    0-6, Agree

    1 |X 2 0 0 3 0| 5 - not great.

You could create a hand that makes it possible to delay.
    ETB Tapped
    Bounce Land
    Turn 3 win.

EDIT: It's easier to ban in, rather than warp the entire meta around it, imo.

You'll want to ban Time Vault as well

I didn't even see that line. Assume I only try to win on turn 3 then?

EDIT: Or change my River to any ETB tapped land. Which was my original plan, but thought I was being cute with the River, didn't think of the repercussions.

    So much disruption!

I can win on turn 3, but still seem to lose most of these.

I honestly thought this was a joke format/fan made until I realized it was from the mothership. This sounds awful. You'll get the same 60 cards smashed together in no time for any one who would try to play this competitively. There's only so many viable cards you can use from standard legal sets.

People have tweeted Tabak about these cases.

Lavalanche: Lavalanche deals X damage to target player or planeswalker and each creature that player or that planeswalker’s controller controls.

Searing Blaze: Searing Blaze deals 1 damage to target player or planeswalker and 1 damage to target creature that player or that planeswalker’s controller controls.

Blightning: Blightning deals 3 damage to target player or planeswalker. That player or that planeswalker’s controller discards two cards.

So you can make a hexproof opponent discard with Blightning and stuff like Lavalanche and Flame Wave can hit a walker and commit their collateral damage.

I stand corrected. Re-reading the paragraph, I can see why these would be the outcomes, but hot damn, they're clunky.

Am sad the rules text still doesn't tell me if or how cards like Flamewave, Lavalanche, Bonfire of the Damned, Searing Blaze... they give an exception on when damage is calculated from a player condition, but not on when other spell effects are derived by relationship to the 'target'. Will these not be able to hit planeswalkers? Be able to hit planeswalkers but not do damage to any creatures? Or be able to hit planeswalkers and pass their other effects on to creatures controlled by that planeswalker's controller?

Same concern about Blightning. I really hoped this rules article would actually address the rules ocncerns we've been wondering about for a while. And MaRo has ignored my above questions submitted to Blogatog.

I would assume, based on what I just read, that all of those cards, save Flamewave Invoker(Will get Planeswalker added) will receive no errata at all, and continue to work as written.

When did the magic community get so toxic?

Wizard is an English company, that's played by a majority of English players. The French language has it's own problems. Frenchmen I work with will openly admit is sexist. I don't think that's a problem Wizards need to try and solve.

I also know people who prefer to be addressed as "they", they are gender neutral and like to be identified as much. I find it a bit weird, but I'm going to respect their wishes because it's really not that impactful to my day to day life.
