Honest question: What do you get out of posting your work here?

I have seen little to no evidence of you actually listening to criticism, speaking in a way that other people understand, or otherwise engaging with the people around here in a positive manner.

Are you just trying to engage in the therapy of getting yelled at like I am engaging in the therapeutic process of digitally yelling at you? I mean, this is cheaper than actual therapy but I do admit some lingering curiosity.

What on earth is a "percentile clench"?

    Congratulations.

Realm of the Ancients is a perfectly cromulent magic card that 100% fits within the rules of MTG. It's a bit strong if you have low drop giants in standard (3 mana to adventure and cast bonecrusher on turn 3 is mean) but should be decent in formats with more expensive giants as it doesn't impact the board on it's own. It took you a very long time but the screaming demons in your head finally aligned with the actual rules of this game.

Again, congratulations on a card well-designed.

Good catch, I'd missed that update. It does save one the "one or more creatures" part of the text to say just "opponent"

If its only drawing you one card per attack, this fits as a white draw ability so no need for blue.

The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't do anything for you on board. I'd suggest giving all creatures +2/+0 and only giving menace to your opponents, or vice versa. Then its not as dead a draw when you're head to head with someone.

That sounds like a nifty change. Done!

The wording used on this type of effect was actually updated a bit with Strixhaven (though it was one of the more subtle changes next to things like "Mana Value" or plain old "Shuffle"). See cunning rhetoric for an example (though I do need to say "one or more planeswalkers", so will edit that).

Wanted to make a different sort of Mardu card for multiplayer.

Dire Straits red mana white mana black mana
    Enchantment
    All creatures get +2/+0.
All creatures you don’t control gain menace.
Whenever an opponent attacks you and/or one or more planeswalkers you control, draw a card

Not that powerful but a weird design. If it would be safe to trigger per creature that attacks, let me know.

Wait... so boxes of this are legitimately selling for more than boxes of Ultimate Masters was?

Even with fetches, I don’t see that being sustainable.

as a side note, isn’t it strange that we have stuff like null rod effects for artifacts and creatures but not lands?

I think blood sun counts, though I guess it is kind of odd that we don’t have a 2 MV artifact with that function

This is apart of fantasy game development.

We're making things up—and giving them context.

Welcome to the world of fantasy, where Google has zero relevance until we create it.

When you give a new definition to a form, you could actually let people know that you are creating a new word instead of speaking about it like you are giving a definition that we could look up... like how you started using Force Majeure in a non-legal sense and didn't tell anyone that you were essentially using the term in a literal sense that nobody else uses... or like how you make cards that don't work by the rules and magically expect us to anticipate that you want to change the rules.

You are an absolutely terrible communicator.

Whatever your artistic capabilities may be, you have consistently displayed no ability to have your intentions be understood by others without several posts of misunderstandings and clarifications and re-clarifications. IF you feel that we are uncultured "philistines" or hacks or whatever, fine. You still know what sort of people are reading your threads and are making zero effort to make yourself understood...

...also known as being a terrible communicator.

By that logic, isn't it your audience who would have to call your design "amazing"?

Because nobody is calling your design amazing.

    I am making a self-claim of etiquette.

It intends to describe what exactly is going on here—so that it can be adapted by others—and take new and dynamic forms in their hands.

Why is this a reference to Helldozer? The two cards have nothing in common.

That is [dozer] as in bulldozer.

This is drozer. As in like an archaic cult term for say, "hellraiser"—or "ancient evil"—or "imperial evil".

I just did a google search for "helldrozer" and excluded "dozer". Zero results.
I did a google search for "Drozer" + "Archaic". Zero relevant results.
I did a google search for "Drozer" + "Cult". Zero relevant results.

Post a source for your archaic spelling or admit that you misspelled, Mr. Force Mejeur.

    I'm mixed on this card.

    • I like that it's a cost-efficient 4-drop you're all but guaranteed to reach with a 3-land hand... but it doesn't set the fastest clock.
    • I like that being a token can have random synergies... though I'm not running those synergies.
    • I like that randomly discarding this card to a faithless looting or throwing this card away to a wrath doesn't feel bad... but Imagine that I'd honestly feel better off with a typical reanimation target in those situations.
    • I like that this card always seems like a cost-efficient beater... but Baneslayer and Lyra are cost-comparable beaters that both trade positively against this card and that gain life in the process.
This seems like the sort of card that you put in explicitly for its versatility... or maybe if you have a cycling package or are running a tribal dragon cube?

This allows a fun option for not over powered things.

It does something great for a minority group.

    This is amazing design.

...You know, I don't think I've ever asked this but isn't the value of art/design largely decided by your audience?

Like, a well-advertised picture of soup cans could be worth millions of dollars if it is seen by the public to be a clever criticism on the commoditization of art while a technically impressive art made with good materials and solid understanding of art styles and composition may be utterly worthless if nobody decides that it is worth a second look.

By that logic, isn't it your audience who would have to call your design "amazing"?

Because nobody is calling your design amazing.

While it is technically possible that you are pulling an Edgar Allen Poe in that you are "ahead of your time" and that your work will be appreciated in the future... even that best-case scenario means that your designs are technically worthless until the rest of society catches up to that point. Poe was not able to make much of a living off of his work, after all, and you are receiving ZERO praise right now.

So... a peasant cube can now contain 4 different cards that make the big hammer reasonable (this guy, Arden, toll collector, and kor outfitter). If we get more equipment with hefty equip costs, that may be the start of a package.

It took me a long few moments for me to realize that Lolth’s trigger didn’t say “nontoken”. Saccing a real creature and two spiders to a sac outlet gives you the loyalty needed to make those spiders again. If you have BB or DHI to force out another token each turn, you get three free sacs per round. Pretty cool for an aristocrats deck.

Seems perfectly balanced to me. A set with this power level would surely be well-received and not among the weakest and most hated sets ever. Surely.

I think I know where you're coming from. I didn't think Gigantosaurus was very creative or interesting either.

...you do realize that was a direct reference to konda, lord of eiganjo being in a weak set (champions of Kamigawa), right?

How do you get from there to Gigantosaurus?
