Jun 5, 2019koreandog posted a message on The End of an EraThis website has been very friendly and is a great place for deck ideas and information. It was a great thing to be on this website and to participate in forum discussions and deck ideas. Hopefully the thing that's coming in the pipeline will pan out well. Thank you to all who helped me build better decks and explained cards in a fairly civilized manor.Posted in: Articles

Oct 15, 2015koreandog posted a message on The Magic Market Index for October 14, 2015Just wanted to let you know that this is a great resource for monitoring changes in card prices. Besides the lands from BFZ, what other cards from BFZ do you think are going to spike up, or are good cards to pick up now before a spike in price?Posted in: Articles

Can I respond to the counters being placed on cast, on the stack on Walking Ballista or Hangarback Walker by using the "exile target creature with power or toughness 1 or less" mode with Warping Wail?
-Perhaps you could use Deadeye Harpooner in both list. It can be used a situational removal and is a fine card to use in the GW version in place of Vengeful Rebel. It could also be a possible replacement for Blessed Alliance while still staying in theme. However, I would try running both of them.
-Another option is you could add colorless to the GW version to use Eldrazi Displacer and Spatial Contortion for added control and spot removal. With Renegade Map you can find a Wastes card or maybe add in more possible Evolving Wilds to the main deck. It's an idea I might try this FNM with my deck.
-One thing I noticed with my GWB version is that my cards would get outclassed in the late game, due to lack of evasion or size. I would think either of running a vehicle, such as Untethered Express or Renegade Freighter to utilize the smaller creatures in the late game. Or you can go with more evasion with Airdrop Aeronauts to help stabilize and give you a viable answer against opposing planeswalkers by attacking in the air.
Things I would recommend:
-I feel in either version, 20 lands should be more than enough. With Renegade Map and Terrarion, you should have no problem getting up to 5 lands and having the right mana to cast your spells.
-A VERY good card to help fix mana in the early game, as well as accompanying the revolt mechanic is Unbridled Growth. It sacs itself for free for a revolt trigger and draws you a card.
-Have you thought about Greenwheel Liberator in the 2 mana slot? With Renegade Rallier, it can easily become a 4/3 for 2 mana. A fine target for Renegade Rallier.
-If you want to focus more on the revolt mechanic, you can look into "flicker" effects, such as Long Road Home, or Acrobatic Maneuver to double your revolt triggers and get extra mileage for each creature.
Hope my input can help out in testing your deck for your parameters
As for cutting something for Trophy Mage, I would think going down to 24-25 lands and maybe moving Brutal Expulsion to the board would make the room. The only time Brutal Expulsion has helped me was against Brisela meld and I often side it out in many matches, which makes me feel like it shouldn't really be in the main. I find the one of Highland Lake to be a bit cumbersome at times, if you're looking for a land to cut.
How has Chandra, Flamecaller worked out as a finisher for you? It seems pretty good for this list, especially after keeping the board clean.
1) Would you guys rather use shock or galvanic bombardment for the 1 red mana removal spell right now? I'm currently using galvanic bombardment in the main for aggro in the current meta, plus main deck counters can deal with Saheeli Rai. However, shock seems to be pretty versatile against other decks like Saheeli, as well as going straight to the face. However, it has diminishing returns in the late game, other than direct damage to the opponent.
2) With Dynavolt Tower, does everyone think that Trophy Mage is a good 2-3x in UR Dynavolt Control? You could even main deck a single Deadlock Trap for Gideon or Nissa, as well as a possible single Consulate Turret for consistent energy production and a 3 energy shock to the opponent (or planeswalker).
I'll post my list that I plan on testing in the next few weeks:
