Why is Lingering Souls starting to see play in some Lands sideboards? I get the lists usually run Bojuka Bog, Riftstone Portal, Horizon Canopy, and/or Murmuring Bosk somewhere in the list to help with the color fixing. Yet, I do not see what this is supposed to come in against.
Some lists popping up on mtggoldfish moving away from trackers and into lingering souls. What do you guys think about this change and would you put riftstone portal back into the list to accompany bosk to support casting the spell?
In my area we have a few DT and XXB delver so edict effects are a plenty. This fights back against those. I dont run them myself but this may be a move I make if it gets more prominent.
He was the only B/W on day two. Is there a day one breakdown somewhere to see how many B/w lists there were total? As long as nothing happens I will be heading to Charlotte next weekend to play this deck.
so question if your going to run a split of 4/2 on relic and scrabbling claws why not change it up to a 4/2 of pyxis of pandemonium and relic and exile immediately?
Has anyone tried any other color combos minus the black? The black only pulls strangler IoK and thoughtseize in most lists for the main and a bit more from the side. And the consensus seems to be on white for sure. So what about dropping the black and going r/w or g/w? With the red white you would pick up the difference with the BR and BW. Going with green you would still get stirrings but you do lose decay, which most seem to play out of the side anyways. But with GW you would pickup silk wraps, oblivion ring, stasis snare, banishing light for early removal in place of strangler. Yes we do lose the 3/2 body but develop into more of a control style deck. At that point you also shore up the aggro matchup as you pickup a much easier castable kitchen finks. Not saying it would be a better choice but does seem like it should be given some thought.
Tutelage has been working out as a 3rd win con in the deck, as there have been games it comes down on turn 2 and then mills out. Also with tutelage even going 4-5 draws deep and then fizzling doesnt feel as bad as it does when dropping 4-5 equipment and then doing nothing afterwards. And as you see I see am able to run 20 equipment while running it and Day's. The only card i would like to try and fit back in would be noxious revival, which could slot back in place of a probe and 1 equipment, which would still leave with 19.
The problem becomes when you fizzle out or you paladin gets dealt with the days become an alternate play to reinvigorate your combo. It is not card you just throw around cause you have three mana. Ill try to post a list when i get home.
ive recently added two days undoing to the deck and so far have been pleased with them. in those times that you fizzle out, playing a days to at least reshuffle any retracts and paladins that have been dealt with back in, and then getting a new seven to open the next turn with have pulled games out that i would otherwise have lost, had I just passed the turn without doing anything.
I get what your saying as far as two drops but heres where the problem lies with days. In the mirror days is a dead draw, in no way am i casting days unless i have them dead on upkeep. The potential for a blowout is far greater than im willing to risk. Which in that case makes 4 dead cards in your deck. The reason for the choice of snapcaster is he allows you that late game resurgence of snapping back bolts or main phase lava spikes. Also i really dont wanna days twin and allow them 7 fresh cards to go off with unless once again i have them dead on upkeep.
Where youd really see the value would be an end step days on their turn played off of quicken which does replace itself so if you have 5 mana up youd have a chance at another burn spell. But that eats up 8 spots in the main. Altho quicken does allow and end of turn lava spike draw a card, or against control an exquiste firecraft, so maybe there is some potential there. With the one drops you play abbot seems like maybe a missed opportunity but this is me just throwing stuff against the wall at the moment.
wondering about cutting the black and adding back white to make it jeskai burn. Replacing needle drop with 4 snapcasters, the bumps back to helixs, and vortex to boros charm along with dropping shards to 2 to make the 3rd charm. Also so far in decks Ive tried days in Ive felt that 3 was plenty, so you could cut one days and even make that the 4th charm
