If a card tries to replace an event with a different event, but the new event is prohibited, does the original event occur? For example:

I control Lich (which says, in part, that if I would gain life I draw cards instead) and Maralen of the Mornsong (which says, in part, that players can't draw cards). I then try to resolve Whitesun's Passage. Since I can't draw cards, will I gain the 5 life or will nothing happen?

    Thanks!

I don't think anyone's mentioned this but Conspiracy seems like a nice combo with the Quest

Any chance we could get the artist credits on the two new promos? They're hard to make out from the pictures. Thanks.

This was a fascinating read. Thanks for putting it together. Do you have any other info from the drafting portion?
The rest of Min and Calosso's match does sound kind of dull. Isochron Scepter with Incinerate on turn 2 is quite the beating. However, I'd definitely like to read about the final match.

I don't think I saw Ranger of Eos confirmed so I'm gonna take a stab. I think BOB doesn't mean Bob but (B)east (o)f (B)urden, to play into the creature thing, so I'll guess

    Ranger of Eos
    3W
When ~ comes into play, you may search your library for up to 2 creature cards with converted mana cost 1 or less, reveal them and put them into your hand. If you do, shuffle your library.
~'s power and toughness are each equal to the number of creatures in play plus 1

Not that excited about the card, but I suppose it is nice that they printed tokens to go with Drudge Spell

Just a quick question but what's supposed to happen on your Rewards Page when they send you MPR? I ask cause I got no mailing for the last MPR even though I had over 10 points. It was the first time I would have qualified but when I spoke to a representative at Worlds, he said something to the effect of not to worry about it. Now that I have over 20 I really want to make sure I get my stuff. When can I expect stuff to be sent and should that be reflected in my DCI profile + Rewards page?

i didn't receive a mailing last go round, though I had the requisite number of events. I talked to customer service about it and was essentially told that since MPR is a free program they have no obligation to deliver in a professional manner.

Am I the only person who's miffed that they shifted an angel, but changed the creature type? There are mono-red and mono-black angels, seems to me they could make a mono-blue one. Ah well. Not a bad card but I wish more of the shifted's were non-standard.

I think it would kind of hard to have only 7 shifted cards of every color, considering that there's going to be 45 shifted cards total...unless 10 are being shifted into artifacts.

If the artifact cards are going to follow the same convention of being reprints but with different color alignment, I don't know that there are enough. Looking through gatherer, the only artifacts I found that had a color bias, were from a set that took place on Dominaria and weren't part of a balanced cycle (e.g. emerald medallion) were:
war barge (possible since since they've already P-shifted some T-shifted cards already
gauntlet of might (unlikely since we have gauntlet of power, but who knows)
    cyclopean tomb
kormus bell (likely since land animating is more green than black)
    sunglasses of urza
    coal golem
    monkey cage
    snake basket
    phyrexian processor

note: the last three are included because of the color of the tokens they create.

Well... the pattern just broke up because Black received a card from green : Whirling Dervish (again!?).

So it might just be totally random which is bad.

But I'm kind of upset with all theses doubles in the same block : Double Dervish, Double Arena, Double Funeral Charm, etc.

I'd noticed the doubling too and originally grouped the black dervish among them but a thought just occurred to me. There's a long tradition of mirrored cards in Magic's past, Black Knight/White Knight being the prime example. Dunerider and Dervish could be a continuation of that theme. I say that mostly due to their color-focused nature.

In general the doubles feel like evidence of creative stagnation, though giving multiple colors the same abilities may be a way of segueing from a block as focused on color harmonization as Rav block was. TS introduced some doubles as well such as psionic blast, darkness, disenchant and resurrection(almost)
