Emrakul, Harbinger of Destruction can't be countered.
    Flash, Flying
When Emrakul is cast, exile all colored permanents or take an extra turn after this one.
A great shadow consumed our remmants of our camps outside the walls. The ferns, the trees, even my comrades became twisted in presense of the monstrous sky titan. We cannot hold, Zendikar is finished.

As someone that is quite new to modern day mtg prices my situation is I preordered a booster box and a fat pack of BFZ at my lgs. I managed to pull some of the top end cards price cards(all plainswalkers, drana, ulamog, undergrowth and an overgrown tomb), is it really the best move to just unload all of them unless I'm playing them in a deck? I wanted to keep them in case I needed a playset of them, like drana but if it makes more sense maybe I will start trading/selling them. I'm just really resistant to the idea for some reason.

I've been having a hardtime finding buyers for some of the new BFZ stuff I want to get rid of. The funny thing is I've been on there at least 20 times and I can't even find someone that has a smoldering marsh on their want list...and it's number 4 in trending. Is this typical or is the site dominated by a few big traders that fill most of the trades?

If so maybe I'll just use it for buying singles here and there forget the trading my own cards portion.

I have played alot of the magic plainswalkers games so unless those have altered rules for some reason I'd say I have a decent grasp again but I'll brush up by watching some youtube videos.

I'll look into the clash pack, maybe I'll like it better than the prebuilt decks I bought. I got the assemble victory intro deck for origins and the dragons of tarkir cruel plots but I didn't find either to my liking. I won't say they were bad decks but part what made me love this game was constructing something yourself...for better or worse.

I registered for the prerelease for the Battle for Zendikar, that should be interesting. I've only ever done one draft which was Mirage I think...and that was when I was 13 or 14 so I don't have fond memories of it as I really didn't know what I was doing. I should look up some tips of how to handle deckbuilding for a prerelease, I'll probably get crushed since I haven't played in nearly 2 decades but I'm going to give it a shot.

    Hey everyone,

Been a while since I played magic, I started in 95 at my local YMCA which was where my father dumped me while he worked(was 12 then). I picked up magic because it was all the rave and there were multiple card and comic stores within walking distance. I kid you not, I think a good 3/4 of the kids at the YMCA played magic, it was so bad that one week the YMCA banned it, the entire place became a ghost town because everyone was chilling all over town playing magic on steps, outside burger joints, anywhere with seating :). Lucky that didn't last becuase they unbanned it and we all flocked back, honestly it was nice to have a place to play indoors.

So I've roughly played from Revised to Tempest which is when I stopped, we moved and with it I lost all my friends that played magic. So...that was it, I just kind of stopped. Without people to play with magic is pretty pointless.

Two years ago I tried out the duels of the planewalkers games and I loved them but I hated that I couldn't really build my own deck(best part of magic). Favorite part about those games were the "win this turn" mini games, I totally missed those from magazines back when I played. So I finally saw a game store go up within a reasonable driving distance and went there and talked to the guys running it.

They recommended that I play standard since it's the "most common format" but they did say that I could play with my older card when they did Friday Night Magic Legacy. Honestly, I'm not to interested in my old cards, I've looked at them again and again every 3-4 years...I want something new to play with. So I bought a fat pack of origins and two prebuilt decks, quite satifisted I opened it all up and got some decent cards I guess. The thing that I noticed is it was pretty hard to put together a decent deck with only 13 packs of cards. I looked up deck ideas online and noticed that alot of people are playing all kinds of cards from within the standard block. So again I'm quite lost and that's why I joined. I want to build a collection but I don't want to throw hundreds at packs or "fat" packs at it to be competative. Which forum should I ask about that in?
