Safe Haven have a bit different wording, but it still gives creatures back to their owners, from gatherer:
10/4/2004 Creatures return to the control of their owners, regardless of who controls the Haven when it is sacrificed.
I think you can cast Cooperate while Damnation is still on stack, however Cooperate will copy Damnation and not deal any damage, as it was Refuse half that was dealing damage.
When Swampy Forest enters the battlefield you may exile an untapped land you control,
if you don't Swampy Forest enters the battlefield tapped instead.
When Swampy Forest leaves the battlefield, return the land exiled with it onto the battlefield tapped.
