'Viability' only matters to players with so much mechanical skill that can take advantage of the meager differences in the numbers. And even then, it's situational. Not sure how you can just wrap everything up and hate on Ezreal like that.
I think the thing with Kayle was that she had too many possibilities to find out which build was optimal until recently. Plus she was generally perceived as weak so not many people were trying her out.
There might be more like Kayle, who just need to find the optimal build. But they might not come to light before the meta or some other variable changes.
I believe only Eve has purposefully gimped stats, but even she can contribute in a weird way with that stealth, so I'm sure every champion is workable in an optimal team set in some way.
Regardless of champion you use, you really need to be wary of Kayle's early damage. I think there was another post earlier saying that Kayle is weak early game, and that kind of misunderstanding costs games, even by itself.
The thing is, Yorick is able to disengage when Kayle comes at you, which will make the lane at least a farmfest. Throw in that you can also harass from time to time.
Like, maybe you don't understand how Kayle works, how Yorick works, how top lane works, how the champions (more specifically the junglers) work in relation to the top lane, or maybe even how the game works.
Can't really tell from your brief description, but Yorick should trade evenly with Kayle, at least. If you were actually able to lose hard, then even if there was a harder counterpick it won't help you.
I don't get you, you would rather have an AD carry that can't AD carry, go and AD carry your team. That's going up the stream without a paddle son
You would certainly get an AD carry that can't AD carry if you do what you do.
Like, you're describing the outcome to your own methods.
Also, if you are able to carry the team with an ap character with half the experience and half the farm, then why not just do that from the get-go? Hell, if you are that skilled, go to town in any lane at any time and you'll be rising past that 1400s in no time.
There is only so much babysitting a jungler can do for a single lane before the enemy jungler realizes it and just proceeds to have happy time in our jungle.
Not seeing how that's worse than completely neutering your AD to make a half-assed AP carry.
So you feel its better to continue watching your AD carry fail AND do nothing about it. I'm sorry bro, but in this case, you're picking the greater of two evils by doing nothing. You're essentially guaranteeing the 3v5 instead of a 4v5 with the support at least doing something proactive
and GLJ, you'd be surprise how often an AD carry relies on jungle ganks for dough instead of good ol fashion last hitting
Hmm, so your train of thought is to cut off the AD from your team by leeching into his farm even more. Instead of, like, calling for ganks to ease up the lane to let AD carry back into the game.
Seriously, those kind of teammate-defeating thought process won't let you get past your 1400s range.
First bold - See, you assume that your AD carry actually has an idea of what to do, I don't. Even in the 1400s (I have been there before) AD carries don't know how to cs properly or make decisions and that's saying something.
Second bold - hence you choose a champ that can support and have the potential to make up for your AD carry, btw you could've played AP soraka.
Pick Soraka with an intent to leech CS from the botlane to make up for AD carry by going AP...? Do you feel that is an optimal solution?
I've only seen the three digits on streams but yeah it's hilarious.
If one cannot carry out of that range, then the fundamentals are really lacking to belong higher.
I think i need to review my Ryze Runes, im runing him with 9/0/21 Masteries but im not doing much with the AP runeset, any suggestions?
Ryze's rune/masteries are pretty flexible, unlike his items.
I've been experimenting with 0/15/15, Initiator and Wealth. The runes are Movespeed quints, mpen reds, gp10 yellows and mr blues. This lets Ryze have the maximum movespeed, with decent tankiness, while also accelerating his gold.
But for more standard approach, swap out the yellows and blues for MR, mana or mana per level, mpen, something along those lines.
Standard masteries are player preference... 9 into offense if you want the pen, then decide on tanky or utility. Pretty straightforward.
Pardon me if you are indeed that skilled, though.

Top lane will easily snowball.
Kayle snowballs like crazy.
Yorick is easily ganked.
Well there you go.

Disengage with W + E on approach.
Engage as needed with full combo.

Can you elaborate how you lost?
