I would not put too much value on Painful Truths. I think it's already near its top value at 3$ for its run in standard. Once KTK rotates out with its fetchlands, decks that run 3+ colors should no longer be the norm, especially since colorless is a "color" of its own with OGW. Read The Bones is better in 90% of cases in 1-2 color decks, only moderately weaker in a 3 color deck, is a common and is still with us in Innistrad.
There may be some value in the long run, due to Modern, but cheap alternatives are plentiful.

Jan 16, 2016SpinifexV posted a message on The Magic Market Index: Set Review of Oath of the GatewatchI agree with the list on all but one count: Vile Redeemer. In a GB self sacrifice deck or a rally/aristocrat deck, it can mean getting a lot more tokens to sacrifice at instant speed. It's not an all star, but I could see it going to 1-2$ if he shows up in such a deck.Posted in: Articles

I have no idea what's the point of her second ability...
I don't think Drake decks will replace Crackling Drake with him, and I don't think Mono-Blue Tempo wants a 4 drop creature. Where would it fit?
Well, I look at things differently. As more and more threats and answers enter Modern, what I see is a move from 3 to 2 color decks: Jeskai splitting into UW Control for hard control and some UR Control for Bolt-Snap-Bolt and/or Combo finishers, while Jund is becoming BG Rock thanks to the power of Assassin's Trophy, or even GR Blood Moon aggro. Mardu Pyromancer is one card away from becoming a 2 color deck (a BR replacement for Lingering Souls).
Bedlam Reveler is good, but it is not evasive, makes us more vulnerable against Graveyard hate, and we have card draws aplenty, so we are not as often hellbent as the mono-red version.
At the moment, I'm using 3 Monastery Swiftspear and 2 Crackling Drake, though I have not had the opportunity to try that configuration yet. It is quite possible, with Modern being so fast these days, that the correct number is 4x and 0x (or a couple in the sideboard).
Thinking about it, I would like a BW Instant: "As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a permanent: Destroy target nonland permanent".
I'm counting 16 black sources for Pockerwizard's deck and 15 for David Daniel's deck, so that's 88% and 84% chances of having Lily mana on turn 3, but it's 95% and 92.5% on turn 4. Chances are David is using turn 3 to FoR the opponent.
I'm not willing to go to 4 FoR for mana consistency issues, but given this weekend's results, I'm thinking of going down to 17 black sources, and running the third Treetop village over the 2nd Hissing Quagmire.
For Gisela, she was reprinted in the From The Vault flip cards, so her price will be relatively stable for the next few years.
Sultai would like a word, preferably in a dark alleyway somewhere.
Joking aside, nice primer.
4 Night's Whisper, 2 Ob Nixilis and 4 Thoughtseize in the main. He did not play against burn in that league!
We do not have Reid Duke's list, though I know he was playing Grim Flayer in his deck, since he had one in hand during his match against Devoted Company.
