I know Vigilance isn’t the best keyword but is potential castability coupled with 3 keywords is enough to pique interest?

Have you considered Rooftop Storm? I know you're not too heavy on Zombies but being able to cheaply and repeatedly jam out Thrax even if your opponents answer him can be pretty strong.

How does pack rat benefit you? Wouldn't the caged cards belong to the copy and not the original commander?

Mairsil's ability only cares that they are exiled with Cage counters, not how they got to that state. It functions differently from other cards that exile cards to use abilities because of how the card is worded with the cage counters.

As always, love your Soulflayer lists. What about Kefnet The Mindful? He's indestructible and unlike previous gods is always a creature so if you play him turn 3 and then Worship turn 4 unless they have Path you are sitting pretty, and he gives two great keywords to Flayer if you eat him later.

Reason to stay in Jund? That's a really spicy combination of abilities.

In the past I've been a big advocate of Grim Flayer, but with the printing of Fatal Push I'm not totally certain how it will hold up. The fact that Soulflayer is immune to Push is huge for us, and the Troll can at least potentially regenerate. That's not to say I think it's not worth trying out, I absolutely love the card, I just think if you are going that far down the Delirium path then you are probably going to want to play a more midrange game with the Flayers and use Traverse the Ulvenwald and your discard options to build a Soulflayer as a late game finisher rather than an all-in affair.

For the all-in Golgari list, if you are looking at a dredger then Stinkweed Imp is probably the best option as it can block, although the power of Life From The Loam cannot be denied either. I don't know that I'd want a dredger without red, however, as Faithless Looting and Cathartic Renunion both really make dredgers shine.

As far as Lingering Souls tokens go, I think creature selection for what to Delve to Soulflayer is a big difference for past decks versus your current build. Yuseimax's current build runs 4 Lotleth Trolls and 4 Chromanticores, as well as a single Xenagos to give 9 trample enablers. In the past we have run things like Akroma or Grim Flayers that also can be eaten to give trample, which I think is an important effect to have with how popular going wide can be. As I mentioned in a post above, I feel Temur Battle-Rage is worth testing for us since Flayer will always trigger Ferocious and help enable kills. I personal value trample a bit higher than flying because it doesn't care about tokens, and the trade-off that a Goyf may get in the way I'm willing to accept because that Flayer likely ate our graveyard and helps shrink them down. That's just a personal preference though.

As yuseimax said though, we're totally up for any discussion we can have about the deck. Even if it's not always successful it's always a blast to play. I'm going to try to bang out a list or two later to incorporate some of the ideas I'd like to try out (even if I'm too busy to test currently, doesn't hurt to have them ready to go).

I think you're underselling the Troll quite a bit. It offers an alternate win condition as well as a discard outlet, which shouldn't be ignored. You're incredibly all-in with the deck as you have it constructed, with very few ways to protect the Flayer.

Gather The Pack seems like it would be better than Churn, since why it doesn't get a creature back it digs two cards deeper, and could potentially nab you two cards as well. It may not protect from hate the same way but if you're going all in you should be focusing more on getting the most bang for your buck rather than slowing yourself down on the off-chance you can "protect" a card. Remember, Delve is paid when you pay costs associated with casting a spell, so your opponent cannot respond to your Soulflayer by exiling things from your graveyard.

What sort of results have you had with your take on the deck? Have you taken it to any events or done any serious playtesting?

The new Death's Shadow Jund decks are interesting, but I don't know that they actually do much to inform our choices since they still are trying to capitalize on a creature that doesn't do anything for us in Death's Shadow and Traverse is just being slotted in to virtually increase the threat density. It does make me wonder though if we should consider Temur Battle-Rage again. I've played around with the Kiln/Thing aggro deck a bunch and always loved having the option. Obviously it's a different kind of deck but anything that could help cut down reliance on the graveyard while still being relevant to the main plan is probably worth another look with the changes in the format.

Have you had a chance to test the new list any? I moved cross country last month and my cards are still at my old place so I have no way to do any playing myself, but I am a fan of being able to drop Akroma and Reaver for cards that better enable delirium. Has Xenagos been any good for you? He's obviously there for Industructable/Delirium purposes but sticking him with an active Flayer would probably feel really good.

That isn't the deck being discussed though, this deck is looking to max out on options as best it can in GR to try to consistently hit Vengevines. With Amalgam Vengevine is literally the only card that triggers it. What you're discussing is a completely different deck, much more in line to the traditional Jund Vengevine decks that are discussed in that deck thread. You'd have to really gut a lot of this deck to fit in the cards necessary to enable Amalgam, as you need to have a critical mass of enablers for that beyond just Vengevine.

I only count 4 cards that need to be sent to the yard (the Vengevines). There aren't any Amalgams in the deck.

So, does Fatal Push help improve the viability of this deck? It offers a cheap answer card to most creatures played in Modern to help buy time until the lock is in place while also being unable to hit the deck's lock pieces if your opponent is running it.

I definitely don't think splashing green is really where you'd want to be since you can run the allies while staying mono-white (or go mono-humans for that matter). You said so yourself, once he hits play he's an expensive Champion, which means you need to be maximizing his ETB effect to make him worth running. If you are running Lynx and Figure you aren't doing so, and I don't think it's worth running in that scenario due to the possibility to underwhelm. With that build you really want to run as few cards that cost more than 1 as possible because you want that untapped Plains open for combat tricks.

Not that I think they need separate threads, but I do feel they are two distinct decks in terms of your choices, so a card being good in one doesn't automatically make it good in the other.

I don't think it's as simple as that. Lieutenant being a 2 drop is a pretty big deal in this deck, since ideally you're dropping a creature turn one, then two creatures in turn two. Champion being a 1 drop means you can drop two humans turn 2 and swing for 3 off of him if you lead off with him and you then have three attackers on turn 3, which makes the nonbo with Figure and Lynx tolerable as you aren't losing too much in the way of pressure as you still have up the optimal number of attackers. With a two drop you can't really afford the potential whiff offered by the nonbo, it's gotta be good every time you play it. In mono humans it will be, but with 8 less targets... Not so much.

I'm not happy with the effectiveness of Caress, but I'm having trouble finding anything better. Totally open to suggestions on that side.

I don't think they are necessarily the answer due to how it potentially impacts your mana base and your game plan, but have you looked into token producers like Bitterblossom or Lingering Souls? I can't imagine you didn't test them, but I'm still curious as to the results.

Going up more on the Nexus (since you can already recycle them via Cruicible) is also a possibility, although may not be all that faster than Caress since the incidental damage from fetches and the like won't help you out.
