I actually just took the condemn/oust slot out for a serum visions, but maybe I just have too many cantrips now. I do like spell snare and usually play one copy. I've been siding Teferi out vs burn, but Cindervines has got me a couple times so maybe I should keep him in?

Not feeling too great with my Phoenix matchup so far, I think I won like 2/5 against it maybe. The one-ofs that I'm getting the least value out of are Oust and Mana Leak. Oust has been pretty darn useless especially being a sorcery and I've used it on my own creature to gain life most of the time. I might just try a 2nd negate or an Absorb instead of Leak and Condemn or another cantrip instead of Oust. Looking at some of the most recent lists I'm not sure why people are cutting a copy of Terminus and even using Gideon of the Trials again, I do kind of miss Gideon though.

Can anyone tell me what specific decks or types of matches the young pyros come out of the sideboard for? Are they mostly just for control or also used against heavy creature decks? Whenever I'm playing against this deck I always get surprised by the pyros in game 2. I used to play Emrakul/breach version, but never used the pyros. Whenever I play against it I also wish I was the one playing it...

I think I have to play this deck! Standard actually looks really cool right now. I took a year off from mostly modern and just started looking up standard again today. Was very surprised to see mono blue near the top.

Yeah the 1-ofs are pretty easy to cut, I may have been overboarding vs burn, but I took out a teferi and cryptic to bring in 6 cards. I'll probably end up getting surgicals with my bountiful winnings! Depose/Deploy is interesting, I don't know many of the cards from the past few sets. Going to be playing a lot this weekend. Is there still an active discord chat going on like there was a year ago? This forum and tappedout are just super quiet now.

So I caved and bought the whole deck last night (not the bad meta call one!) It feels really good to be playing it again, only did 3 matches so far and went 2-1. Lost to Naya burn after he conceded early game 1 and I wasn't sure what I was playing against. Brought in Angels for game 3 and not sure if that was right, but I died the turn after playing 1 of them, so it was close. I actually brought in the angels in all 3 matches and they won the game against Jund through Choke, and a long match vs Eldrazi and Taxes. I would have ran out of time if not for them also. I'm pretty rusty and definitely have a lot of new stuff to figure out, especially the always annoying sideboard plan for each matchup. I'm not really sure what the main flex slots are anymore or if you ever take out any of your PWs? I barely used Teferi so far and even Jace only did stuff in a couple games. It's slower without Gideons, but way more powerful and controlly.

So I think I like this list from Tyler Andrews at SCG indy. The 1 ancestral vision is strange and I'm wondering what matchups the angels are for, mostly other control decks? I've noticed the angels in lots of lists and the Cataclysmic Gearhulk (not in this version) is interesting too.

^Yeah I never personally liked the card too much. My best results with it were against storm. Many decks just had too many threats for it to be worth it. A lot of times I felt fine just using RIP or even relics. I've only been back in the game for a few days so I don't even know all the graveyard shenanigans I need to be watching out for right now.

Can I get by without Surgical Extraction in like every sideboard of every deck I want to make? I'm looking at UW control, Blue Moon or Tron for MTGO and about half of the decks cost is the 2-3 copies of surgical. I remember when all the pros didn't even like this card... I quit for over a year and kind of like how things are looking right now, but this auto including surgicals in every deck and how expensive it is now is the one thing that really sticks out to me.

So I went 13-2 in matches online so far just learning the deck and making lots of mistakes... One of the losses was a total give away to UR Phoenix that I had won. I ran into a couple coco/chord decks and wasn't exactly sure how to board against those, but still won anyway. I'm still not sure which order to play lands/spells sometimes and every time I use Scapeshift I'm worried I'm gonna screw something up Smile Are there any good active streamers to watch using this deck? or any other advice on anything, thanks!

Was hoping someone would respond soon! Just compared more of the decks and noticed 4x terminus seems to be pretty common and at least 2 Jace and Snaps. I guess PW ults and CC beatdowns are the win cons now. Jace and Teferi look pretty nasty, I've never played with either. Wouldn't mind watching some good stream of these current lists before I decide to go all in again. This seems to have overthrown Jeskai in popularity and power level which I wasn't expecting.

Woah I just noticed the Colonnades are down to 3.7 tickets online... they were like 40 when I was playing this deck a year ago. I'm looking at This List to add to the Valakut deck I just bought EEK! I like the Thing in the Ices, and I remember considering Absorb so many times! I never played with them or Teferi. How viable is this deck these days? Looks like it would be a little more powerful than what I was playing before?

Edit: Yeah this version has no Jace or Surgicals (can't believe how expensive surgicals are now) No snaps either. Can I get a good version without the surgicals at least? Also why do all the forums look so dead?

This is perfect, thank you! The one article in the link that shows a quick in/outs for each matchup is exactly what I needed while I figure the deck out. I've played against it plenty of times, but never actually played it myself. Bought all the cards last night and gonna give it a spin tonight.

Considering getting back into MTGO with this deck. Looking at the version in 4th from the GP Toronto. It's only 89 tickets and seems to be doing well. No idea how to sideboard or anything. Any suggestions on what list to start with and a quick sideboard guide? Most of the sideboard cards seem self explanatory for certain matchups except tireless tracker, that for control also? What cards usually come out first? Thanks!

Looking to get back into MTGO after not playing for over a year. Looking for something in the 100-250 tickets range that has a good chance in leagues. I'm looking at Burn, Dredge, Titanshift, Tron, Ad Naus (mosft of which I find super boring repetitive decks) or if I can get away with Jeskai under 300. Something fringe like Temur or Sultai would be sweet if they are actually competitive. Any thoughts on the best bang for my buck?

Edit: So I just found this Jeskai Breach deck from SCG Dallas in 15th place. I played a lot of UR breach and UW and Jeskai and this looks kinda sweet...
