Sorry if this is the wrong place.

This image is from Khans of Tarkir product info

Seems like we're getting a Mardu event deck

    My guess:

    -Khan
    -Intro Pack Rare
    -Ascendancy
-Clan spell (like Dune Blast, or Flying Crane Techinique)
    -Clan mono color rare 1
    -Clan mono color rare 2
    -Clan mono color rare 3
-Something else, maybe another 3 color thing, or a second monocolor from the clan central color

Makes sense to me. It would be interesting to see current khans' ancestors.

Also, if it's really "Present - Past - Alternate Present", we could see dragons ruling the clans (considering they win the war). This would be another reason for the last set being named "Dragons of Tarkir"

Dragon's Maze needed heavy color fixing for limited, hence the Gate/Shock slot.

Unless the third set of Khans block is also multicolor heavy, I don't see this happening.

Maybe Bolas and Ugin are brothers. New brothers' war?

Ugin confirmed as Urza, Bolas confirmed as Mishra (well... they're both Grixis)

So, Ugin an Bolas are different enough so you can tell who is each one.
But they're similar enough so you can assume they have somehow related

Maybe brothers or cousins. But even if not blood related, the're linked by the story. Both are really old dragons (like.. REALLY OLD) with the aiblity to planeswalk.

It is a bit weird that Sarkhan says on the trailer that the Abzan are indredibly hard to kill, but Sarkhan's planeswalker card can easly kill Anafenza.

But loved the card, both in flavor and power.

  • posted a message on Why we're going to Zendikar sooner rather than later
We haven't had two blocks in a row following the same "core story" since Odissey/Onslaguht (well Alara, Zendikar and Scars of Mirrodon had Bolas minions doing stuff, but at least the Mirrodin block is considerally distant from the other two).

They're clearly setting up the ground for bringing back the Eldrazi, and I believe this will happen quite soon. Maybe not right after the Tarkir block, but not too far.

We've been waiting longer for a return to Dominaria and Alara.

I guess the returns won't be much linear (calling it now, we'll see a return to Theros before we see a Return to Innistrad or a Return to Return to Ravnica).

I wouldn't be surprised if we revisit Zendikar before any other plane. I think a wedge set kind of turns down the urge for a shard set (they are not the same thing, but are similar in some way). Maybe Dominaria could come first (in fact, it is my favorite plane by far, and a block revisiting it is my greatest desire in Magic for a few years). Time Spiral was a kind of reset on the whole Magic story, and we haven't gone to Dominaria since then. It could set up a new conflict in the Multiverse. Zendikar and New Phyrexia are the greatest unsolved problems, while the other plans had minor issues left (like Ajani kicking some gods' asses in Theros).

    So, long story short
My wish: Return to Dominaria first
My two cents: Return to Zendikar first (and soon)

  • posted a message on Time travel Block structure
The Present/Past/Alternate Present thing makes a lot of sense. Specially after MaRo's article today:

The first day that Ethan and Shawn started their internship, Aaron and I pulled them aside and explained that we had a little project for them. We walked them through the draft structure for Khans of Tarkir block and explained that we wanted them to come up with a block plan that explained the draft structure. In short, why was the middle set drafted with each large set but the two large sets were never drafted together?

It explains why the first and the last set are never drafted together (they took place at the same point in the timeline)
And also explains why the second set is drafted together both of them (the past is connected to the first present, but after you make changes it turns into the "second present").

I still don't get, however, the misterious reason behind the clans being based not on the enemy color, but on one of the allied ones. I don't like the idea of them turning into shards, but it would make sense. A stronger colorless theme (due to Ugin or something) could happen, but would feel even weirder in terms of drafting the sets together.

I could totally see them bringing back the Planar Chaos wedge dragons (and I would be really happy with a 5-color dragon called "The Ur Dragon", but I wouldn't put my 2 cents on that)

Fetchlands synergizes pretty well with Delve, Courser of Kruphix, that card from KTK that allows you to see the top of your deck.

Someone noticed that fetchlands and morph were first printed in the same set (Onslaguht) and now they're brought back together.
    http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/96275101263/the-fetchlands-were-first-printed-in-onslaught-where#notes

One of the coments caught my attention. It says "Tarkir confirmed as Otaria!"

It does make sense, considering Tarkir is a land once ruled by mighty dragons and Otaria is where Scourge, the dragon set, took place.

    What do you guys think?

  • posted a message on Jaya Ballard to be spoiled today?
I guess Jaya is the most popular old walker

So popular that they made the red Walker inspired on her (MaRo's words)

While it would surely be a nice pick, I guess a different one would have more design space.

    So... Jeska maybe?

  • posted a message on Fall 2015 is Return to Zendikar, 100%.
Zendikar seems the most likely option for a "return to" set (many things are pointing at it).
I guess "Blood" is far enough from RtR, the last nostalgia set. So I think it isn't a long shot to say that Blood will be a "Return to" block.

    Soo... A + B = C

Of course Blood may not be Zendikar 2. But I think it is safe to assume that Zendikar is close. It could even has something to do with the third set from Khans Block (Louie?). Maybe we are already in Zendikar, we just don't know that yet (also, Zendikar Fetchlands reprint in the third set confirmed, calling it now)

  • posted a message on I am still cocerned about the future of the [MODERN FORMAT]
Fetchlands showed up even sooner than I thought. And they're Onslaguth fetches, so now we have 10 on the format. Not sure if this will affect the Zendikar lands price, but KTK fetches will surely been found by a reasonable price.

I don't see Wizards taking a bunch of every expensive card in modern and saying "Here it is, all free, let's play Modern". But they are surely working on making it more affordable.
