Yeah I have this card listed in my maybeboard already. I'm really excited to play it.
As an update, I also cut Liliana of the Dark Realms and Dread Return. Liliana was almost always just a 4 mana Civic Wayfinder that I couldn't even benefit from sacrificing. I don't know if I've ever used her - ability and I've only gotten her emblem once. Dread Return got cut because it was the most expensive reanimation spell in the deck. My deck likes a little reanimation, but it's not its primary focus. A lot of the time I don't have 3 creatures on board to sacrifice to flash it back. These two cuts made room for Go for the Throat and Plaguecrafter.
I think a cut that you could make is Exsanguinate. I'm of the opinion that Torment of Hailfire is just simply better, as it can impact the board in addition to killing your opponents outright, whereas the Exsanguinate simply increases your life total. In the place of Exsanguinate, I highly recommend Snuff Out. Being able to cast it for free is awesome for breaking up potential combo turns while also allowing you an element of control over the game.
It seems you're just going for a mono-B Goodstuff deck, correct? I also assume that your Commander is Liliana, Heretical Healer. That means creature synergies are going to be better for your deck, typically.
The other card that looks out of place is Vampire Hexmage. Do you play against a lot of Planeswalker Commanders? With no Dark Depths to go alongside it, it's just a 2/1 with First Strike. If you need the Hexmage to get rid of PW's, keep it. Otherwise, I think that's another cut you could make for your deck. I would recommend Go for the Throat in its place.
Cutting Exsanguinate is a good suggestion. I am never really happy to see both Exsanguinate and Torment in a game as it usually only takes one to end it, and I usually end up pitching them to Liliana if I draw them too early. Torment is much better when you can't cast it for x = lethal.
And yes Liliana is my commander. Sorry I forgot to list that.
Hexmage does a lot of work in my meta. There are a couple people who love their Planeswalkers.
I've been running this Liliana deck for a couple of years and have been happy with the way it's performed, but I think I need to slot in more instant speed spot removal. I also wouldn't mind playing with a couple of the mono black gotchya cards like Imp's Mischief and Withering Boon.
I'd love a little critique on what to cut from the deck to fit some of the cards in my maybe list, or if I shouldn't even bother with them.
I've logged the decks evolution in the comments if you're interested in its transformation. Any experience with the cards under consideration or deck advice is appreciated!
Cards I'm considering adding...
Draw/Filter/Cantrip - Dig Through Time, Frantic Search, Impulse, Intuition, Thirst for Knowledge, Ponder.
I don't think I need to fit all of these in my deck, but a couple or a few would be alright. This isn't really a combo deck, but it is usually looking for a token producer or a payoff creature to copy. Which of these cards would make the most sense?
General Protection - Haste and Hexproof are both things my creatures want. Swiftfoot Boots surely deserves a spot, but I'm not sure where it fits.
Utility land - I think Strip Mine should come in over Mirrorpool. There's almost always a land worth killing and it's much less mana intensive.
Cards I'm considering cutting... What is your experience with these cards?
Storm the Vault - The card is great when it flips, but it doesn't always flip reliably, and a lot of the time its a 4 mana do nothing.
Thopter Spy Network - Another 4 mana do nothing, but at least this one has potential to draw me some cards and does something each upkeep on its own. It's actually pretty good with Thopter Engineer.
Saheeli, the Gifted - Creating a servo each turn is nice, but a little underwhelming. I'd be more inclined to keep her in if she made thopters. Her cost reduction ability is nice, but hit or miss on how impactful it is.
Vizier of Many Faces - It's mainly in the deck for its embalm ability. Clones have never really been my thing because of their inconsistency. The targets my opponents offer up often have no use for me on my side of the table.
Helm of the Host - As insanely powerful as it can be, I always find the card so expensive.
Dragon Fodder/Krenko's Command/Hordeling Outburst/Tempt with Vengeance - I actually kind of like these cards in the deck. They provide me some early defense, or a substantial increase to my army when Brudiclad is online. I'm not sure if I need all or any of them though.
Mirrorpool - I don't like that it comes into play tapped and the token producing ability is pretty expensive. I've had it in play a few times and never found myself needing to activate it.
With the release of C18, lots of people have been excited by the enchantress deck. I've seen a lot of creative builds of bant enchantress decks and I wanted to share one of my favorite decks while interest in Enchantress is high! I cut blue, missing out on cards like Enchanted Evening, Aura Thief, and Stasis, for the tutors and Doomwake Giant in black. Anafenza, the Foremost leads this deck mostly just to get me in the colors, but she is a cheap commander with a big body and provides relevant graveyard hate. I'm always happy to have her on the field, but the deck doesn't live or die by her which is a good thing.
I've considered adding a Grand Abolisher for an additional effect to protect my turn, but I'm not sure I need a third. City of Solitude is a bit more durable than Abolisher and it will cantrip with an enchantress on the field. City can be dangerous though because the effect is symmetrical. Dragonlord Dromoka can't be countered which guarantees you freedom on the turn you cast it. Dromoka is also just a nice way to beat face and recoup some life.
Earthcraft is another possible addition to the deck. Earthcraft seems good enough on it's own even though I only run 7 basics. All I need is one with an aura or two on it to create some serious mana. I don't do a lot of attacking until I have a bunch of angels built up so I don't have a problem turning my creatures sideways to activate Earthcraft. And if I'm considering Earthcraft I should probably look at Squirrel Nest too. My only issue with Squirrel Nest is that it isn't all that great on its own. I don't have anything to take advantage of etb triggers. The combo also doesn't win the turn it's assembled because I don't have any haste enablers.
Here is the list. Let me know what you think. Hopefully it will inspire a deck of your own or some discussion here. Thanks for taking a look.
I never thought about Drownyard Temple, but you’re right. I’ve probably only activated it a couple of times and it’s never been all that important. It was just something to do with extra mana. I always just kind of assumed the land belonged in the deck because it wants to go to the graveyard, but in practice its ability is rarely relevant.
I’ll start to pay more attention to how much I get bit by the GG lands coming in to play tapped too. I could always fill those slots with more forests or even some of the panoramas.
I finally picked up a City of Traitors, but where do I slot it in? I don't want to cut any basic forests because I think I'm already on the low side there. I don't necessarily need to a cut a land for it either. I'm currently at 42 and 43 doesn't seem unreasonable. I'm considering Mosswort Bridge or Dark Depths to fit in City. Mosswort is hit or miss and I rarely get a Marit Lage onto the battlefield.
Also, do any of you run Field of Ruin? Or is Ghost Quarter, Tec Edge, Dust Bowl, Wasteland, Strip Mine good enough?
The land destruction I'm running is probably plenty, I guess I just wanted to hear if anyone had any success with Field of Ruin. I kind of forgot about the card.
Speaking of land destruction, Ghost Quarter is a potential cut for City too. Ghost Quarter is the worst of those type of effect.
1) Limiting my market is what made me hesitant on the trade. Almost everyone I've talked to says the signature adds nothing or devalues the card.
2) I don't have a prospective trading partner at the moment. I'm really just trying to trade up and improve my binder
3) I'm looking specifically for RUG duals and a City for a couple of EDH decks. The Verdant I would be picking up just to flip.
4) I'm glad he offered cash too!
Ultimately I think I'm going to decline the trade. Like you said, the signature really limits the market. Also, no one in my immediate trading area has what I'm looking for so I'm really just trying to build up my binder for when I can make it to a big event. If it wasn't signed I would probably jump on it, but that signature makes it tough to put a definitive value on.
Remorseful Cleric looks like it could have a spot in the deck, possibly in the main. But other than Cleric and Brightling, I haven't looked at changing all that much.
My:
Invention Sword of Fire and Ice
Invention Lightning Greaves

His:
Signed Expedition Verdant Catacombs
$25 cash
What I'm really trying to do is turn my inventions into a City of Traitors or a dual land. I can throw the cash toward whatever card I'm looking at and I feel like expedition lands, especially the higher value ones, are more sought after than my sword and greaves.
You can easily replace Cavern with Unclaimed Territory, fetches, Overgrown Tomb, or any GB source really. Cavern isn't necessary, it's just that we are able to run it without much downside so it gives you some percentage points against anyone with Chalice or counter magic.
Great write up @arrogantAxolotl! While I may value shocklands higher than you, I appreciate your insight. After starting this thread and taking some time to contemplate my own Abzan mana base, I realized I forgot about Horizon Canopy. I cut Brushland for Canopy to keep my amount of painlands at parity.
@sefenvold, I generally share your concern on the filter lands, but my third color (black) is such a light splash in the deck that I feel comfortable keeping it in. I came to this realization after reading through some comments and looking a little harder at my mana base. Wooded Bastion in this list helps early on to be able to cast Mesa Enchantress or Verduran Enchantress too.
I feel like Bountiful Promenade probably doesn't fit in this list. Wooded Bastion has never created an issue for me so far, and the Brushland slot has been replaced with Horizon Canopy. The ability to cycle itself away as well as enter untapped wins out over Promenade.
I had what I believed to be an optimized mana base for my Abzan Enchantress deck. Then these great dual lands from Battlebond were released and I feel like they are worth a slot, but I'm not sure where they fit in. I'm specifically looking at Bountiful Promenade since we only have access to allied colors at the moment.
I'm really liking this 99. I scoured through the primer and the following pages and didn't really see much discussion on why Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orrery don't make the cut? I came across one comment about As Foretold only being good with a critical mass of creatures with flash or instants, but I notice that As Foretold makes it over the latter two.
I also edited the OP to reflect the current list.
Cutting Exsanguinate is a good suggestion. I am never really happy to see both Exsanguinate and Torment in a game as it usually only takes one to end it, and I usually end up pitching them to Liliana if I draw them too early. Torment is much better when you can't cast it for x = lethal.

Removal - Chaos Warp/Reality Shift
I already run Pongify, Rapid Hybridizaion, Cyclonic Rift, Blasphemous Act, and Vandalblast. If I could only pick one I'd lean toward Chaos Warp, but they both my warrant a spot.
The goal of this deck is to accelerate with land auras and mana dorks so once you get an enchantress online you are able to take advantage of the extra cards you draw. Use protection like Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, and Solitary Confinement to keep yourself alive until you are able to build up and army of angels from Luminarch Ascension or Sigil of the Empty Throne. I find that the Ghostly Prison type effects along with a Parallax Wave is usually enough to deal with creatures until we can get our engine going. This has lead me to skip most Oblvion Ring type effects. I use Seal of Primordium, Seal of Cleansing, and Aura of Silence to shut down other enchantments and artifacts permanently. Heroic Intervention, Teferi's Protection, and Austere Command protect my board and clean up everyone else's if things get out of hand.
Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Eladamri's Call, Sterling Grove, Survival of the Fittest, and Crop Rotation are all tools to get you what you need. Once you are in a position to end the game, you want to get a Living Plane and one of the following, Doomwake Giant, Linvala, Keeper of Silence, or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. This will clean up everyone's lands and your victory should be a turn or two away. Use City of Solitude or Dragonlord Dromoka to ensure no one can disrupt you on the turn you decide to go for it. With an Academy Rector on board you can cast Eldritch Evolution and grab Living Plane from the Rector and Doomwake from the Evolution.

It's up. Here it is. https://www.reddit.com/r/FishMTG/comments/8xcnyb/grand_prix_são_paulo_report/
I'm hesitant to cut basics because they are fetchable, immune to Blood Moon and Back to Basics, and I like having as many targets for Land Tax and Utopia Sprawl as I can afford. What I think may get the cut is either Brushland or Wooded Bastion.
What have you found yourself cutting to fit them in, regardless of the color of your deck?
I've love to hear your feedback!
